ViewSonic VX: UHD monitors with up to 150 Hz, HDMI 2.1 and USB-C surfaced

Manufacturer ViewSonic expands the in-house VX series with two new models. The VX3220-4K-PRO with 32 inches , as well as the VX2880-4K-PRO with 28 inches rely on a 144 Hz panel that can be overclocked to 150 Hz.

Features of the new ViewSonic VX monitors

The two new ViewSonic VX monitors were spotted on the manufacturer’s Chinese product page and rely on a flat IPS panel that achieves a 4K resolution of 3,840 × 2,160 pixels. They natively achieve a refresh rate of 144 Hz and can also be overclocked to 150 Hz – that hardly makes a difference in operation, but at least sounds much more advanced.

Thanks to a fast GtG response time of just 1 ms, both displays are also suitable for gaming use. Features on both models include two HDMI 2.1 inputs each (enabling 4K at 120 FPS on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X), a DisplayPort 1.4, a USB Type-C port with up to 65 watts, and an audio out.

The 31.5-inch VX3220-4K-PRO also offers two USB 3.0 ports, while the 28-inch VX2880-4K-PRO has four. In addition, both monitors have an adjustable stand including height adjustment and pivot function, as well as integrated stereo speakers with 2 watts of power each.

However, the VX3220-4K-PRO variant is not only larger, but also offers the more advanced display. The 8-bit panel with FRC simulates a color depth of 10 bits and achieves a maximum brightness of 350 cd/m² with a pixel density of 140 ppi. The VX2880-4K-PRO, on the other hand, “only” has an 8-bit color depth and 300 cd/m², but the pixel density is correspondingly higher at 157 ppi. Both have the HDR400 standard and 100% sRGB color space coverage in common.

Prices and availability

The official announcement of both the ViewSonic VX3220-4K-PRO and VX2880-4K-PRO monitors is still pending. Therefore, neither the prices nor the release date of the displays are known yet.
