vivo V21 5G: mid-range smartphone comes to Europe

The Chinese company vivo has introduced a new mid-range smartphone that will also find its way to Europe. The vivo V21 5G wants to convince especially in terms of camera quality and relies on a front-facing camera with a full 44 megapixels and optical image stabilizer.

Strong camera setup

The camera equipment of the vivo V21 5G is especially remarkable. The front camera comes up with 55 megapixels, relies on an f2.0 aperture and also features an optical image stabilizer (OIS), which is supposed to ensure particularly high-quality selfies.

But the setup on the back is also impressive. Here, vivo relies on a triple camera consisting of 64-megapixel wide-angle (f1.79) including OIS, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle (f2.2) and 2-megapixel macro lens. Videos can be recorded in 4K on both the front and rear.

90 Hz AMOLED display & strong specs

The vivo V21 5G comes in Dusk Blue and Sunset Dazzle colors, weighing in at 176 and 177 grams respectively. The back of the 159.7 x 73.9 mm large and 7.29 mm thin smartphone is made of matte glass.

Furthermore, the manufacturer relies on impressive specifications that could make the device a real blockbuster in Germany as well. The 6.44-inch ANOLED display comes from Samsung and resolves with FHD+ (2,404 x 1,080 pixels) – at a frame rate of 90 Hz.

Inside, the MediaTek Dimensity 800U SoCs ensures 5G compatibility, plus there’s 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of internal storage. A 4,000 mAh battery that can be charged quickly with up to 33 watts provides juice. On the software side, the vivo V21 5G relies on Funtouch OS 11.1, which is based on Android 11.

Price and Availability

The vivo V21 5G will be available from Media Markt and Saturn as well as Sparhandy.de, DeinHandy.de, Otto, Cyberport and Euronics at an RRP of 399 euros from the beginning of July 2021. The scope of delivery is also impressive: In addition to the smartphone, vivo includes a 33W power adapter, headphones including a USB-C adapter, a protective case, and a screen protector.
