With the Vivo X300 Ultra, the Chinese manufacturer has officially unveiled its new flagship camera. The smartphone is aimed specifically at photo and video enthusiasts and relies on a triple camera system developed in collaboration with Zeiss. Vivo had already teased the device at MWC 2026 – now all the details are known.
Zeiss camera system with three native focal lengths
The heart of the Vivo X300 Ultra is the camera system, which Vivo calls the “3+2 ZEISS Master Lenses Collection”. It covers three native focal lengths: 14 mm (ultra-wide angle), 35 mm (main camera) and 85 mm (telephoto lens). Vivo deliberately opted for a 35 mm main camera, as this focal length comes particularly close to the natural visual impression of the human eye – in contrast to the usual 23 mm of many other smartphones.
Behind the 35 mm lens is the Sony LYTIA 901 with a sensor size of 1/1.12 inches and a resolution of 200 megapixels. The aperture is f/1.85. The Sony LYTIA 818 with 50 MP at 1/1.28 inch is used for ultra-wide-angle shots. The 85 mm telephoto lens also has a resolution of 200 MP and features gimbal OIS and AF tracking at 60 fps. For the first time, Vivo is also using 25 megapixels as the standard output format across all focal lengths, which should provide significantly more detail compared to the previous 12.5 MP approach.
Another highlight is the 5 MP multispectral sensor with 12 color channels, which, according to Vivo, can analyze the ambient light at pixel level and thus ensure particularly natural color reproduction – especially in difficult lighting situations such as concerts or dimly lit bars.
Vivo X300 Ultra: professional-level video functions
In addition to photography, Vivo has placed a special focus on video recording with the X300 Ultra. All rear cameras support 4K video with up to 120 fps in 10-bit log and Dolby Vision. According to the manufacturer, a pro video mode is based on the user interface of professional film cameras. This is complemented by a quad microphone system and support for wireless microphones.
Vivo also offers a comprehensive range of accessories: A Photography Grip, a Camera Cage (the “Vivo SmallRig Pro Video Rig Kit”), a Cooling Fan and an External Lens Expansion Frame significantly expand the possibilities of the smartphone. The optionally available Telephoto Extender Gen 2 or Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra can be used to achieve focal lengths of 200 mm and 400 mm respectively. Both teleconverters are designed according to the Zeiss APO principle.

Price, availability and pre-order offers
In Europe, Vivo is launching the X300 Ultra exclusively in the configuration with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage. The pre-order phase will start on April 16 in the Vivo online store, and the device will also be regularly available via Amazon and other retailers from April 24. Vivo has not yet communicated an official price – however, an entry on Vivo Austria indicates an RRP of around €1,999.
Pre-orderers can look forward to a few extras: those who register will receive a 50 euro voucher that can be used on all smartphones in the X300 series. There is also a 50 percent discount on accessories such as teleconverters. The SmallRig Pro Video Rig Kit, worth 499 euros, will even be included free of charge for pre-orderers.
With the X300 Ultra, Vivo is taking a logical step towards professional mobile photography and videography. The combination of Zeiss optics, powerful hardware and an extensive accessory ecosystem makes the smartphone one of the most exciting camera phones of 2026 – even if the price is likely to be correspondingly high.
