Vodafone price increase 2023: Prices for DSL and cable Internet increase for existing customers

Vodafone had already increased the prices for DSL and cable Internet rates for new customers at the end of 2022. Now we are facing a corresponding Vodafone price increase in 2023 for existing customers as well. The monthly base price increases by 5 euros.

Currently, the provider sends e-mails to existing customers informing them about the Vodafone price increase 2023. By mid-year, all existing customers with DSL and cable Internet rates are to be informed before the price increase takes effect with the legal deadline of six weeks.

It is not entirely clear whether all rates are affected by the adjustment in the same way, because in the e-mail the provider only talks about an increase in the monthly charge of five euros. Also the price for the tariff Vodafone CableMax, which was advertised with the slogan “permanently for 39.99 euros”, rises to 44.99 euros.

The adjustment is justified, among other things, by generally increased costs, including for energy.

“Unfortunately, we are also affected by the general cost trend. For example, the increase in energy prices for the operation of our networks presents us with major challenges. That’s why we now have to adjust our prices. We want to keep this impact for you as low as possible,” the email says.

Price increase allows special termination right

If you do not want to accept the price increase, you are granted a special right of termination upon receipt of the e-mail. Within three months, you can terminate your contract without notice, but no earlier than the effective date of the Vodafone price increase 2023.

However, it can be assumed that other providers will soon take the same step and also increase their prices. Other providers had already increased prices for new customers in recent months, so now it’s the turn of existing customers as well.
