More security for WordPress
In order to provide additional security to visitors of a website when logging in, the company Ecsec launches a new WordPress plugin that relies on the electronic identification eID. It is part of the SKIDentity plugin and relies on eID connectivity in the default configuration.
Under the open source AGPL license, the plugin is available for download on Github and can be quickly and easily integrated into WordPress. SKIDentity is preset in the default settings, however it is possible to quickly and easily switch to the eID method.
This allows login for anyone who has a German electronic ID or similar documents and has eID linked to the WordPress plugin. Necessary for this are also an eID client, such as the AusweisApp2 or the Open eCard App certified by the Federal Office for Security and an eID service. The secure transmission of the electronic identity takes place via an eID broker.
