Xiaomi 12 launch still in January 2022 worldwide?

After the two new flagship smartphones Xioami 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro were officially unveiled at the end of December 2021, fans worldwide are eagerly awaiting the release of the devices. Apparently, the Xiaomi 12 launch could happen much faster than originally thought. Are the smartphones coming as early as the end of January?

Xiaomi 12 Launch on January 24?

While the delivery of the flagship smartphones Xioami 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro in the country of the manufacturer, China, is currently already in full swing, there has been no concrete date for the global release so far.

Most recently, there was speculation about a global launch in February or March 2022, but now it could be much earlier – perhaps as a kind of challenge to Samsung, which will launch the Galaxy S22 series in February 2022?

At least that is what a tweet from Xiaomi last Sunday suggests, in which the company simply asks: “Ready?”. Of course, this gives rise to speculation as to what the global audience is supposed to be ready for. After all, this very question opened the global wave of teasers for the previous generation Xiaomi Mi 11.

Phonandroid editor William Zimmer assumes via Twitter that the Xiaomi 12 launch could already take place on January 24. That would be two weeks earlier than last year’s predecessor – precisely because the teaser was also published two weeks earlier.

Whether Zimmer is right with his tip remains to be seen. However, a release at the end of January would be conceivable to possibly beat Samsung to the punch.

Xiaomi 12: What to expect

The Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro come with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. The 6.73-inch 12 Pro in particular will excite smartphone enthusiasts and offers, among other things, super-fast charging with 120 watts via USB Type-C, and 50 watts wireless charging, respectively.

The new camera setup with three lenses on the back also promises outstanding photo quality once again. Not least thanks to the main camera including Sony’s IMX707 with a size of 1/1.28 inches.

In China, the Xiaomi 12 will cost at least 500 Euros, and the Xiaomi 12 Pro around 630 Euros. We will be surprised how high the prices will be in Germany.
