Xiaomi has officially unveiled its latest premium smartphones, the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra, for the European market. The devices come with numerous improvements, including a powerful cooling system, a state-of-the-art camera system in cooperation with Leica and strong performance thanks to the new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
High-quality displays with top brightness
Both models rely on AMOLED displays with high resolution and first-class brightness:
- Xiaomi 15: 6.36 inches with a resolution of 2,670 x 1,200 pixels
- Xiaomi 15 Ultra: 6.73 inches with a resolution of 3,200 x 1,440 pixels
Both screens support an adaptive refresh rate of 1 Hz to 120 Hz, which ensures a smooth user experience. Particularly noteworthy is the maximum peak brightness of 3,200 nits, which enables excellent readability even in direct sunlight.
In addition, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra offers improved LTPO technology, which optimizes power consumption, as well as improved protection through Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Snapdragon 8 Elite and innovative cooling system
For performance, Xiaomi relies on the Snapdragon 8 Elite, one of Qualcomm’s most powerful processors. In combination with up to 16 GB of RAM (in the Ultra model), the devices ensure outstanding speed and smooth use.
The new IceLoop cooling system, which is being used in a smartphone for the first time, is particularly innovative. This technology uses an extended vapor chamber to dissipate heat more efficiently, ensuring higher performance over longer periods of time.
Leica camera system with impressive zoom
A particular highlight of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is the advanced camera system, which was developed in collaboration with Leica. The camera equipment in detail:
- 50 MP main sensor with improved light capture
- 50 MP ultra-wide-angle lens for wide-angle shots
- 200 MP periscope telephoto lens with up to 5x optical zoom and 120x digital zoom
Thanks to the periscope telephoto lens and Leica optimization, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is said to be particularly suitable for professional photo and video recordings. This is supported by advanced software functions such as AI-supported image processing, 4K and 8K video recording and an improved night mode.
The standard Xiaomi 15 model also offers a 50 MP main camera, but without a periscope lens.
Battery life and charging speed
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is equipped with a 5,410 mAh battery, while the Xiaomi 15 has a capacity of 5,240 mAh.
Both devices support:
- 90-watt fast charging (by cable)
- 50-watt wireless charging
- 10 watt reverse charging to charge other devices wirelessly
HyperOS 2 and long update guarantee
Both models run HyperOS 2, Xiaomi’s own operating system based on Android 15. HyperOS promises an optimized user experience with improved energy efficiency and new AI functions.
Xiaomi guarantees:
- 4 years of Android updates
- 6 years security updates
This makes the devices future-proof and competitive with other premium smartphones.
