With the new Xiaomi 17T series, Xiaomi is expanding its premium smartphone portfolio with two powerful models that are set to set new standards, particularly in terms of camera, battery life and display technology. The Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro feature different body sizes and an extensive Leica camera system for the first time within the T series. The large batteries, new telephoto functions and improved display technology with a focus on viewing comfort are particularly exciting.

  • Leica 5x telephoto camera integrated in both models for the first time
  • Up to 7000 mAh battery with wired and wireless HyperCharge
  • 1.5K AMOLED displays with up to 3500 nits peak brightness
  • MediaTek Dimensity 9500 and 8500-Ultra for gaming and multitasking

Xiaomi 17T series relies on Leica innovations for camera and photography

The new Xiaomi 17T series clearly focuses on mobile photography. Both devices have a triple camera system with a 50-megapixel main camera and Leica optics. While the Xiaomi 17T Pro relies on a larger 1/1.31-inch sensor, the standard model uses a 1/1.55-inch sensor. The combination of Leica UltraPure design and Summilux lens architecture promises a high light yield and natural depth of field.

Particularly noteworthy is the 5x Leica telephoto camera, which has been installed across the entire series for the first time. With optical image stabilization and 50 MP, both macro shots from 30 centimetres and distant subjects can be captured precisely. The AI Ultra Zoom enables magnification of up to 120x.

Another new feature is the Leica Live Moment function, which captures motion sequences shortly before the actual shot is taken, creating more dynamic images. This is complemented by Leica Live Portrait, which captures movements naturally even in portrait mode.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro also stands out with its advanced video functions. 4K recordings at 60 fps, a natural bokeh effect and Live Cinematography open up significantly more creative possibilities. Content creators and mobile videographers in particular are likely to benefit from these functions.

Xiaomi 17T series impresses with Vision Care display and enormous battery power

Xiaomi has also made significant progress in terms of display and endurance. Both smartphones rely on a 1.5K AMOLED panel with a peak brightness of up to 3500 nits. This means that content remains very easy to read even in direct sunlight.

With Xiaomi Vision Care, the manufacturer is introducing a new technology that reduces blue light, flickering and motion blur. The fourfold TÜV Rheinland certification underlines the focus on eye-friendly use. The Xiaomi 17T Pro also offers a minimum brightness of just 1 nit and is therefore particularly suitable for use in dark environments.

The new battery technology is a real highlight. The Xiaomi 17T Pro integrates a 7000 mAh silicon-carbon battery, which according to Xiaomi is the largest battery in an internationally available smartphone from the manufacturer to date. The Xiaomi 17T also has a powerful 6500 mAh.

For charging, the Pro model supports 100-watt HyperCharge wired and 50-watt wireless charging, while the Xiaomi 17T charges with up to 67 watts. Both models support PPS standards and are therefore flexibly compatible with chargers from other manufacturers.

Under the hood is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 in the Pro and the Dimensity 8500-Ultra in the base model. In combination with the Xiaomi 3D IceLoop cooling system, the series promises high stability even during long gaming sessions or demanding applications.

Premium features at attractive prices

With the Xiaomi 17T series, Xiaomi brings a convincing overall package to the market. The combination of Leica telephoto camera, large battery and modern AMOLED display in particular makes both devices strong contenders in the premium segment.

The Xiaomi 17T starts at 749.90 euros, while the Xiaomi 17T Pro is available from 899.90 euros. Both models are available immediately in several color and storage options. At market launch, there are also trial subscriptions for Google AI Pro, YouTube Premium and Spotify Premium. Xiaomi is thus positioning the new series as a powerful alternative for users looking for modern camera and battery technology at a competitive price.
