Xiaomi: New Redmi devices announced

Xiaomi has always stood for gadgets that score with a great value for money. This does not seem to be different for its two upcoming Redmi products. In addition to a new wearable, the Chinese company has also announced a couple of new True Wireless In-Ears (TWS). We take a look at the devices that will soon be released in this country.

An Apple Watch clone again?

If you take a look at the Redmi Watch 2 Lite, you simply can’t resist comparisons to the Apple Watch. At least visually, the two smartwatches are like two peas in a pod. The handling is no different. You can choose between classic touch gestures and operation via a button on the side. Only Apple’s typical crown is missing. Xiaomi promises a resolution of 360 x 320 pixels for the 1.55-inch LCD screen. That should ensure pleasingly sharp content. Surprisingly, Xiaomi does not want to use Android’s Wear OS for the operating system. The range of available features sounds really promising.

In addition to a classic heart rate monitor, the measurement of blood oxygen is also possible here. Fitness enthusiasts will be pleased with the tracking option of more than 100 different exercises. Xiaomi also emphasizes a protection against water. The Watch 2 Lite is said to be water-resistant up to 5 ATM. Thus, you should by no means wear the wearable while swimming. While this will sadden the diving enthusiasts among you, the integrated GPS is really commendable and anything but self-evident in this price range. The battery with a capacity of 262 mAh is supposed to provide staying power of up to ten days.

Price-performance cracker for the ears

For this year’s Christmas business, however, Xiaomi does not only want to launch its Watch 2 Lite. With the Redmi Buds 3 there is also something for the ears. But here, too, you have to notice clear borrowings from Apple.

This time, it’s clearly the AirPods that have been used as the obvious model. The TWS are said to be able to last up to five hours on a full charge. With the help of the transport or charging case, there are twenty more hours of battery life.

If you ever need to go fast, you can create 90 more minutes of music enjoyment with ten minutes of charging. At the heart of the soundscape are the 12 mm drivers. Bluetooth 5.2 and IP54 certification round out the overall package.

New gadgets before Christmas

A better timing is hardly possible. So, in addition to the Redmi Watch 2 Lite, Xiaomi is also launching the Redmi Buds 3 just in time for this year’s Christmas shopping season. Both gadgets score with an attractive price. You can get the Redmi Watch 2 Lite for an MSRP of 70 Euros starting on December 13. The Redmi Buds 3 will also be available from December 13 at an RRP of 50 Euros.
