At a launch event in Paris, manufacturer Xiaomi unveiled numerous new devices from its 2022 lineup of AIoT products. These include the Xiaomi Book S 12.4″, an exciting 2-in-1 notebook, the Xiaomi Smart Band 7, the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro e-scooter and the Xiaomi TV A2 series of smart TVs. We have summarized all the info and details of Xiaomi’s new products in 2022.

Xiaomi Book S 12.4″: 2-in-1 notebook for the Western market

With the Xiaomi Book S 12.4″, the manufacturer shows its first 2-in-1 notebook for Western Europe. Here, the company relies on a 12.4-inch touchscreen that comes up with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels and gets a whopping 500 nits of brightness. The refresh rate is 60 Hz.

The LC display in 16:10 format covers the sRGB and DCI-P3 color space by 100% and thus ensures rich colors. The manufacturer relies on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 platform. A 64-bit ARM processor especially for notebooks, which is manufactured in the 7nm process and therefore works energy-efficiently.

The SoC relies on eight cores: four ARM Cortex-A76 with up to 3.15 GHz clock and four ARM Cortex-A55 with up to 1.8 GHz clock are combined here. The Qualcomm Adreno 680 GPU is used for the graphics calculation.

This is joined by 8 GB LPDDR4X working and 256 GB SSD system storage. The latter can be expanded by up to 512 GB via microSD card. The Xiaomi Book S 12.4″ 2-in-1 notebook is also only 720 grams light and comes with dimensions of 294.00 x 197.00 x 8.95 mm (width x height x depth).

Over 13 hours of battery life

Xiaomi installs a 4,920 mAh battery (around 38 Wh), which should last for around 13.4 hours according to the manufacturer. Charging is fast with the optionally available Xiaomi 65W GaN Charger, and the Xiaomi Book S 12.4″ spec sheet even speaks of 67W Turbo Charging.

Windows 11 with S-mode is used as the operating system. A variant that is especially optimized for security and performance. The case made of an aluminum-magnesium alloy is robust and durable. In addition, the notebook has a high-speed USB-C port that is used for charging as well as for 4K Ultra HD screen output.

Rounding out the features is a 13 MP main camera on the back and a 5 MP webcam on the front of the notebook, which comes with a Full HD resolution. Thanks to two microphones that support Qualcomm Aqstic ECNS (echo cancellation and noise suppression technology), the Xiaomi Book S 12.4 should also be great for video conferencing.

Two stereo speakers are available for audio playback. The 2-in-1 notebook works wirelessly thanks to WiFi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac) in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz network, supports Bluetooth 5.1 and offers a 3.5 mm jack for connecting headsets and audio devices.

Optionally, the convertible can be operated with the Xiaomi Smart Pen, which features ultra-low latency, a 240 Hz sampling rate and 4,096 pressure levels. A full-sized keyboard is also offered, which is simply docked to the notebook. The large trackpad supports operation with various gestures in conjunction with Windows 11, while the keyboard has a soft backlight that makes working at night easier.

Xiaomi news 2022: Smart Band 7

The Xiaomi Smart Band 7 is the next round of the well-known fitness tracker, about a year after the unveiling of the sixth generation. It features a high-resolution 1.62-inch AMOLED display with a 25 percent larger display area compared to the previous generation. The device also features a new VO₂-Max professional workout analysis that measures the maximum amount of oxygen. Even during an ongoing workout. There is also sleep tracking, as well as SpO₂ and heart rate measurement. The Xiaomi Smart Band 7 is water resistant to 5ATM, so it can be worn in the rain. The battery is said to last up to 14 days in standby mode.

Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro

The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro marks another exciting new product. According to the manufacturer, the “most powerful scooter from Xiaomi to date.” It features a 700-watt motor that reaches a top speed of 25km/h (20km/h in Germany, according to regulations).

The battery capacity is 12,400 mAh, realizing a range of up to 45 kilometers. This should enable the e-scooter to achieve sufficient power to easily master inclines of up to 20 percent. Braking energy is automatically converted into new power for the battery thanks to KERS (kinetic energy recovery system).

The aluminum body of the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro is lightweight, strong and corrosion-resistant. The scooter is equipped with tubeless, self-sealing 10-inch tires that are puncture-proof with Xiaomi DuraGel and last longer on rough roads. The gel automatically seals punctures under 3.5 mm after the object is removed.

Weighing in at 16.5 kg, the 4 Pro turns out larger than its predecessor. At the same time, it can carry more weight (maximum 120 kg), which should also improve standing comfort. In addition, the new magnetic charging port and lid ensure safety when the charger is plugged in.

Additional safety is provided by the new front eABS and rear dual-pad disc braking system. At the same time, the e-scooter is said to fold compactly in just three seconds. Combined with the Xiaomi Home app and LED screen, you have a lot of information at your fingertips, such as speed, battery level, status and operating mode.

Xiaomi TV A2 Series

After the F2 series, the manufacturer is also launching an update in the form of the Xiaomi TV A2 series. And it comes in four sizes of 32 inches, 43 inches, 50 inches and 55 inches. As a smart-home hub device, it offers optimized AIoT connectivity, high-end audio and visual specs, and built-in access to content from around the world.

The four models actually differ solely in terms of size and otherwise rely on the same specs. Xiaomi packs a 4K Ultra HD display with Dolby Vision and HDR 10 with an ultra-wide 178° field of view.

Two 12-watt speakers are responsible for the sound and support Dolby Audio and DTS-HD. A quad-core Cortex-A55 processor including Mali G52 MP2 GPU, 2 GB of working memory and 16 GB of system memory are used as the COU.

When it comes to the operating system, the Xiaomi TV A2 series relies on Android TV 10 and not Amazon’s Fire OS 7 like the F2 series. The device also features Chromecast, an integrated tool for streaming directly from smartphones, tablets or laptops. Google Assistant is already integrated, allowing for quick control of connected AIoT devices via the 360° Bluetooth remote.
