Xiaomi Poco F3 and Poco X3 Pro: Is that still mid-range?!

The price-performance king Xiaomi has another challenge for the competition. With the two mid-range smartphones Poco F3 and X3 Pro, the Chinese company offers a lot of features at an astonishingly low price. The latest mobile standard 5G and Dolby Atmos are just two of the highlights.

Xiaomi Poco F3

If you take a look at the specs, you wouldn’t suspect that behind the Poco F3 is really a device that is classified as mid-range. The device comes in a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, which should enable scrolling without annoying jerks thanks to 120 Hz. In combination with HDR10+, the AMOLED panel should enable high-contrast and colorful pictures. The maximum brightness of 1,300 nits sounds really impressive.

Under the hood of the smartphone is the Snapdragon 870 5G. This is the upgrade version of last year’s top model from Qualcomm. As the name already reveals, it supports 5G. A maximum clock rate of 3.2 GHz should be able to process even demanding workmanship smoothly. The CPU can be supported by 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. You can choose between 128 GB or 256 GB of storage. The 4,520 mAh battery is supposed to provide the necessary endurance.

Fans of Xiaomi will certainly find the specs of the Poco F3 familiar. The features are very reminiscent of the Redmi K40, which the tech company introduced in China just a few weeks ago. This is not only true for the technical specs, but also for the general design. For example, both smartphones share the camera module (48 MP main camera, 8 MP ultra-wide-angle, 5 MP macro camera). The selfie camera at the front also offers 20 MP. The extensive features are rounded off with two speakers, which are supposed to offer the Dolby Atmos sound standard.

Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro

With the Poco X3 Pro, Xiaomi says it is targeting the gaming community. The display is also 6.67 inches and offers 120 Hz. However, it is not AMOLED, but unfortunately “only” LCD. In contrast to the Poco F3, the processor also has to make some sacrifices. Xiaomi uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 860, which has a maximum clock rate of 2.96 GHz. The smartphone’s sophisticated cooling mechanism shows that Xiaomi is targeting gamers. The Chinese company has installed different cooling options. Thus, you should not have to worry about overheating while gaming.

The gaming smartphone comes with a quad camera

The equipment options again match those of the new Poco F3. You can choose between 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 8 GB of RAM and 256 storage. What you have to do without, however, is the latest mobile standard 5G.

The gaming smartphone’s large battery is supposed to ensure long gaming fun.

However, the gaming smartphone is clearly ahead in terms of battery. With 5,160 mAh, it offers almost 600 mAh more than the Poco F3. The Poco X3 Pro has a quad camera that consists of a main camera with 48 MP, ultra-wide-angle camera with 8 MP, a macro lens with 2 MP and a depth sensor with 2 MP. The selfie camera also offers 20 MP here.

Prices and availability

Starting off the release of the two new mid-range smartphones is the Poco X3 Pro. The device, which is advertised as a gaming smartphone, is scheduled to go on sale on March 26. The colors Phantom Black, Frost Blue and Metal Bronze will be available. The cheapest variant with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage will be launched at an MSRP of 249.90 Euros. On the other hand, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage will cost 299.90 Euros. The Poco F3 is scheduled to hit our stores in Arctic White, Night Black and Deep Ocean Blue on March 30. The RRP starts at 349.90 Euros. In return, you get 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Xiaomi charges an MSRP of 399.90 Euros for 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage.
