Xiaomi presents Redmi Buds 3

With the Redmi Buds 3, Xiaomi has presented its latest in-ear headphones that can be used wirelessly and aim to impress with active noise cancellation.

Active noise cancellation with three modes

The active noise cancellation of the Redmi Buds 3 has three different modes, between which is switched automatically. The headphones are thus said to be ‘intelligent’ in that they are supposed to actively detect the respective noise level and adapt the respective function mode to it in order to achieve the best possible sound quality in each case. A maximum of 35 decibels of ambient noise can be suppressed. The technology is not new for Xiaomi, however, it is already used in several wired headphones of the Chinese manufacturer.

Battery, ergonomics and co

In addition, the new in-ear headphones are equipped with a rechargeable battery, which should ensure a playtime of up to six hours (with noise cancellation deactivated). In conjunction with the charging case, up to 28 hours of playtime are possible. A recharge sufficient for a playtime of up to three hours is supposed to take place within ten minutes.

The manufacturer also talks about an ergonomic design, which is supposed to ensure that the headphones sit well in the ear even during sports activities. They are also equipped with a detection function, which ensures that the sound output stops automatically as soon as the earphones are removed from the ear. Rounding out the features is a dual-connect as well as a tracking function that works via Bluetooth.

Price and availability

The headphones, which can be used via Bluetooth, are available for around $40 via AliExpress.
