Xiaomi is expanding its accessories portfolio with a particularly compact solution for mobile charging. With the new UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank, the manufacturer is presenting a model that combines modern charging technology and high suitability for everyday use despite its extremely slim design. Suitable accessories are becoming increasingly important, especially in an environment of ever thinner smartphones. The new power bank is positioned as an elegant addition for current generations of devices and relies on magnetic adhesion, fast charging performance and a high-quality housing.
- Extremely slim design with a housing thickness of just 6 mm
- Wireless charging up to 15 W and wired charging up to 22.5 W
- 5,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery with high energy density
- Magnetic attachment for compatible smartphones
UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank: design focus meets suitability for everyday use
With a thickness of just 6 millimeters, the UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank is one of the thinnest magnetic power banks on the market. This means it is only slightly thicker than particularly slim smartphones such as the iPhone Air and is barely noticeable in everyday use. Compared to its predecessor, the Super Slim Magnetic Power Bank 5000 with a height of 8.7 millimeters, Xiaomi has consistently opted for a further reduced profile. The housing is made of an aluminum alloy with a smooth metallic finish, which not only contributes to stability, but also looks good with modern smartphones. The side facing the smartphone is also covered with a fireproof fiberglass material to protect sensitive surfaces.

The magnetic adhesion ensures that the power bank sits flush against the back of compatible devices. Initial product images show that it fits perfectly on various smartphones, including current iPhone models, Google’s Pixel series and devices from other manufacturers. Four integrated LED displays provide information about the current battery status, while a dedicated power button controls the charging process. This keeps operation deliberately simple and clear without sacrificing essential information.
Charging power, battery and safety in a compact format
Despite its small dimensions, the UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank uses a 5,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery with high energy density. This battery technology enables a solid capacity with a reduced space requirement and should be sufficient for at least one full smartphone charge. The power bank supports wireless charging capacities of up to 15 watts for compatible Xiaomi devices. iPhones are currently supplied with up to 7.5 watts, which corresponds to the current MagSafe standard. For faster charging, a USB-C port is also available, which can reach up to 22.5 watts.

In terms of safety, Xiaomi states that it relies on a total of ten protection mechanisms. Two integrated NTC temperature sensors monitor the heat development during the charging process and are designed to reliably prevent overheating. The manufacturer is thus addressing typical risks associated with compact power banks, where high power density and small size place particular demands on thermal management. Overall, the technical concept appears coherent and designed for practical use in everyday life.
Conclusion: Lean solution with a clear objective
The Xiaomi UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank combines an exceptionally thin design with solid charging performance and modern battery technology. It is aimed at users who are looking for an inconspicuous, mobile power source without sacrificing magnetic charging or high-quality materials. The model is currently available in Japan, where it is on sale for 7,980 yen, the equivalent of around 43 euros, via Amazon and the official Xiaomi Store. Information on a wider market launch is not yet available.
