Xiaomi is expanding its commitment to electromobility and is presenting its second electric car, the Xiaomi YU7. Following the success of the SU7 sedan, which was officially unveiled in February 2024, the Chinese tech giant now wants to launch a high-performance SUV on the market. With a weight of 2,405 kg, the vehicle reaches an impressive top speed of 253 km/h. The battery is expected to be supplied by CATL, one of the leading manufacturers of battery technologies.
Details of the battery capacity are not yet known. However, these could be based on the high standards of the SU7. With dimensions of 4,999 x 1,996 x 1,600 mm, the YU7 is larger than the Porsche Macan, but is slimmer than many other SUVs in its class. Xiaomi aims to offer a premium experience with modern features that impress in terms of both design and technology.
Market launch and expectations
Xiaomi plans to launch the YU7 on the market in summer 2025. The e-SUV will of course initially be launched on the Chinese domestic market. Prices are not yet known, but they could be based on the strategy of the SU7. This is available in China from the equivalent of 28,275 euros.
