XMG NEO 16 and 17 available for pre-order now

The XMG NEO 16 and NEO 17 gaming notebooks presented at CES 2023 are now available for pre-order – but only the models with a GeForce RTX 4090 or 4080. All other configuration variants will follow on February 14. The delivery will also be staggered.

High-performance NEO 16 and 17 laptops unveiled at CES

The two high-performance laptops, which differ only slightly from each other technically, were presented at this year’s CES. Both models are equipped with Intel’s Core i9-13900HX processor with 24 cores as well as the latest graphics cards from Nvidia’s RTX-4000 series. Those interested can choose between the RTX 4090 and 4080 with a maximum graphics power of up to 175, as well as the RTX 4070 and 4060 with a power of up to 140 watts.

In addition, there is a fast DDR5 RAM with up to 64 GB as well as two M.2 slots for SSDs. Interested users can also choose between air and water cooling. Both cooling options performed very well in first tests of the devices. Both models are also equipped with IPS panels in a 16:10 format, which have a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels. The refresh rate is 240 hertz in both cases. There are only differences in the size of the displays. The screen of the NEO 16 measures 16 inches diagonally, while that of the NEO 17 is 17 inches.

Staggered pre-order

Pre-ordering of the laptops is staggered by agreement with Nvidia. All models equipped with a GeForce RTX 4090 or 4080 are available for pre-order now. Those laptops that feature a GeForce RTX 4060 or 4070, on the other hand, can only be pre-ordered from February 14.

The delivery of the gaming laptops is also staggered. The NEO 17 with RTX 4080 and 4090 will start shipping on February 8. Models with RTX 4060 and 4070 will start shipping on February 22. The delivery of the NEO 16, on the other hand, has not been scheduled yet. According to XMG, the G-SYNC and Advanced Optimus certifications are still pending.

Interested users will also have to wait for the announced DDR5 overclocking RAM with a clock rate of 6400 MHz and low CL40 latencies. This is not yet available and will be delivered later if there is interest. Instead, all pre-ordered devices will initially be shipped with DDR5-5600 (CL46) or DDR5-4800 (CL40).

NEO 16 and 17: Prices

The starting prices of the devices with RTX 4060 are 2,199 (NEO 16) or 2,249 euro (NEO 17). A surcharge has to be paid for more powerful graphics cards. The RTX 4070 costs 375 euros, the RTX 4080 is available for 1,050 euros and the RTX 4090 costs 1,687 euros. Also only available for a surcharge are models with a mechanical keyboard with MX-ULP Tactile switches from Cherry. This costs 125 Euros.
