XMG NEO 16: High-end gaming laptop with modular architecture and optional water cooling

The XMG NEO 16 presented at CES 2025 is a powerful 16-inch gaming laptop with a completely revised design and modular interior architecture. It offers a choice between high-end processors from Intel and AMD as well as the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5000 graphics cards. The gaming notebook is now going on sale.

Key features of the XMG NEO 16:

  • Processor options: Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX or AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX/9955HX3D
  • Graphics cards: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, 5080 or 5070 Ti
  • Display: 16:10 panel with 2560 x 1600 pixels, optional mini LED with 1000 nits brightness and 300 Hz refresh rate
  • Cooling: Revised air cooling system with optional external water cooling XMG OASIS

Modular design for flexible configurations

The internal design of the XMG NEO 16 is modular, with the CPU and GPU located on separate boards. A bridge connects these modules and transfers eight PCIe 5.0 lanes as well as the power supply. This approach facilitates individual configuration and can reduce potential repair costs, as only the affected module needs to be replaced in the event of a defect.

Powerful cooling options

The NEO 16 features a newly developed air cooling system with larger fans and optimized air outlets that increase airflow and improve heat dissipation. For additional cooling performance, the optional XMG OASIS external water cooling system is available, which is securely connected to the laptop via a new snap-in mechanism. This combination allows the system to operate at high performance with reduced operating noise.

High-quality display options

XMG offers two display variants for the NEO 16:

  • Standard display: 300 Hz fast IPS panel with 2560 x 1600 pixels, G-SYNC support and 500 nits brightness.
  • Optional upgrade: Mini LED panel with 1000 nits (HDR) or 750 nits (SDR) brightness, 1000 illumination zones and 300 Hz refresh rate. This panel covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space and is therefore ideal for content creation and gaming
