XMG is back with a large lineup for Computex 2026. The XMG PRO 18 takes center stage – the brand’s first 18-inch laptop in around 15 years. There is also an upgraded NEO 16 with an optional OLED display and new variants of the APEX 17, APEX 16 and PRO 16 Value Edition with more VRAM. There is a lot to discover here for gamers and mobile power users.

XMG PRO 18: Return to the 18-inch class
The XMG PRO 18 is the brand’s first 18-inch machine since the P801 from 2011 – and the difference could hardly be greater. Instead of a chunky desktop replacement with excessive weight, XMG now brings a device at 24.5 mm in height and around 2.8 kg – remarkably compact for an 18-inch model.
The regular edition is based on the Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus combined with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti. The IPS display has a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, achieves 500 nits of brightness, covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color space and runs at 300 Hz. The Value Edition swaps the CPU and GPU for a Core Ultra 7 270HX Plus and an RTX 5070 with 12 GB GDDR7 VRAM; the display remains the same specification, but only offers a refresh rate of 180 Hz.
Both models share the technical platform of the PRO 16, which means identical connections: HDMI 2.1, Mini DisplayPort 2.1, Thunderbolt 4, USB-C 3.2 Gen2 with DisplayPort 1.4a, three USB-A ports, 2.5 GbE Ethernet, SD Express card reader and a 2-in-1 audio jack. Plus Wi-Fi 7, two SO-DIMM slots for up to 128 GB DDR5-6400 RAM and two M.2 slots (PCIe 5.0 and 4.0). The battery has a capacity of 99 Wh. Compared to the 16-inch model, there is a larger sound system with four speakers, a 151.5 × 96.5 mm glass touchpad and a Full HD webcam with Windows Hello via infrared.
NEO 16, APEX 17 and APEX 16: Upgrades across the entire lineup
The XMG NEO 16 retains its familiar chassis, but switches to the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus. On the GPU side, there is still a choice between RTX 5070 Ti, 5080 and 5090. The mini LED panel (2560×1600, 750/1000 nits SDR/HDR, 100% DCI-P3) is identical to its predecessor – what is new is the planned G-SYNC support, which is still undergoing NVIDIA validation. For the first time, the NEO 16 can also be configured with an OLED panel: 2560×1600, 240 Hz, 500 nits SDR, 100% DCI-P3. A binding HDR brightness value is still pending.
XMG is already planning the launch of the APEX 17 for mid-June: The 17.3-inch model with AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX will receive the RTX 5070 in the 12 GB version. The APEX 16 will follow later with the same AMD CPU options (9955HX or 8945HX) and also the RTX 5070/12. Both displays offer 100% DCI-P3. The Value Edition of the PRO 16 – previously only with RTX 5070 Ti – also gets the RTX 5070 with 12 GB as a new configuration option.
Availability and prices
XMG is not yet communicating specific prices due to the current market situation. The APEX 17 with RTX 5070/12 will make the start in June 2026. NEO 16, APEX 16, PRO 16 VE and the two 18-inch models are expected to follow between August and September 2026. Anyone looking for a powerful gaming notebook with the latest Intel or AMD processor and plenty of VRAM should keep an eye on the upcoming launch announcements.
