With the Yamaha TW-E5B, the manufacturer launches a new in-ear headphone. The true wireless earbuds are supposed to provide long-lasting music enjoyment on every occasion thanks to innovative technologies. Especially the microphones and the wearing comfort are supposed to convince.
Yamaha TW-E5B: TWS in-ears with Bluetooth 5.2 and powerful features
Sound-wise, the new Yamaha TW-E5B rely on a dynamic 7.0-millimeter driver, which, together with the acoustically tuned room and optimized airflow in the case, is supposed to provide an impressive sound.
For secure, high-quality transmission, Yamaha relies on Bluetooth 5.2 with the Qualcomm aptX Adaptive Audio codec, while also supporting SBC and AAC. Thanks to an IPX5 certification, the E5B are also protected against sweat and splashing water. The battery life is also very good with 8.5 hours for the Earbuds, as well as another 21.5 hours in combination with the charging egg. Charging is done via USB Type-C.
As with all current wireless headphones from Yamaha, a free app is also available for the TW-E5B. Headphone Control is available for both iOS and Android devices and makes operation even more convenient with an equalizer, quick settings for Ambient Sound and Listening Care, and notifications of firmware updates.
The Yamaha TW-E5B are operated via tactile buttons on both sides, which, among other things, control music playback or let you answer or reject calls. In addition, the headphones can also be used with the voice assistants Siri and Google Assistant.
Listening Care is said to provide balanced sound
The Yamaha TW-E5B use a smart equalizer setting called Listening Care, which is said to reproduce all frequencies clearly even at low volumes. Normally, these are lost at a low level. Listening Care builds on the YPAO Volume technology that Yamaha has been using to mix home theater sound for years.
In addition to long music enjoyment with the in-ears, good intelligibility during video calls and phone calls is becoming increasingly important. Yamaha has further optimized the microphones for this and combined them with Qualcomm cVcTM (Clear Voice Capture) technology, which simultaneously suppresses noise and echoes for crystal-clear voice quality.
Gaming Mode and Ambient Sound
The versatile Eardbuds also feature a gaming mode, which is not only responsible for low latency in games, but also allows you to play videos and movies without much delay in picture and sound.
If you don’t want to completely isolate yourself from the environment with all the technology, you can use the “Ambient Sound” mode, which is the classic transparency mode. Here, voices and ambient sounds are played back amplified.

The Yamaha TW-E5B TWS in-ear headphones will be available in black, gray, blue and brown in April 2022. The manufacturer’s MSRP loves at 159.00 euros including VAT.
