With the P60, Zalman is launching a new case that aims to stand out visually and technically from classic mid-towers. The focus is on a large glass design that extends across the front and side – combined with an unusual cooling concept. Instead of classic front fans, Zalman relies on slanted side fans and a reinforced rear setup. The aim is to enable efficient cooling of modern high-end hardware despite the limited air supply through glass surfaces.
- Slanted side fans replace classic front fans
- Two rear fans for improved heat dissipation
- Large L-shaped glass window for maximum visibility of components
- Support for large radiators and high-end GPUs
Zalman P60 relies on an unusual cooling concept instead of classic front ventilation
The most striking feature of the Zalman P60 is its cooling approach. While many cases rely on front fans to channel fresh air directly into the system, the P60 does without this option due to its full-length glass front. Instead, three 120 mm fans are positioned on the side – not simply parallel to the case wall, however, but at an oblique angle.
This design is intended to direct the airflow “around the corner” and thus efficiently reach the main components such as the graphics card and CPU. This concept is supported by so-called inverted fan blades, which optimize the airflow and at the same time enhance the appearance with visible RGB elements.
Zalman also uses two fans at the rear. This setup is rather unusual, as many cases only have a single fan here. The increased number not only serves to improve heat dissipation, but also indicates a generous internal layout. In fact, the P60 offers enough space to install even large radiators – such as 360 mm models – in the lid or at the bottom.
With a volume of over 65 liters, the case is in the upper range of classic mid to big towers. This allows the installation of particularly large components. Graphics cards up to 435 mm long and CPU coolers up to 170 mm high can easily be accommodated, which also makes the case interesting for powerful gaming or workstation systems.
Focus on design, space and modern hardware compatibility
In addition to cooling, Zalman places great importance on the design of the P60. The L-shaped glass window extends across the front and side, providing an almost unobstructed view of the installed hardware. This design is in line with the trend, but brings with it design challenges – particularly in terms of air circulation.
The chosen fan concept seems plausible in this context. By shifting the air supply to the side, the front remains visually free without completely sacrificing fresh air. At the same time, the combination of side and rear fans ensures a directed airflow through the housing.
The P60 is also solid in terms of equipment. In addition to support for ATX, Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX mainboards, there are several mounting slots for data carriers, including classic 3.5-inch hard disks and 2.5-inch SSDs. The I/O panel with USB-A and USB-C ports is positioned on the lower front area, which is designed to allow the case to be used on a desk.
There are only minor limitations with the power supply unit: with a maximum length of 180 mm, particularly powerful models with over 1,200 watts could reach their limits. However, this value should be sufficient for most systems.
Conclusion: Zalman P60 combines eye-catching design with sophisticated cooling
With its angled fan setup, the Zalman P60 takes an unusual but understandable approach to combining design and function. The combination of a large glass window and adapted airflow concept makes the case particularly interesting for visually oriented builds. With a price starting at around 150 euros and immediate availability, the model is attractively positioned in the upper mid-tower segment.
