ZTE Blade V40 series: Four new smartphones revealed

ZTE unveiled the new ZTE Blade V40 series at the Mobile World Congress 2022 in Barcelona, which includes a whole four new smartphones. Specifically, the ZTE Blade V40 5G, ZTE Blade V40 Pro, ZTE Blade V40 and the ZTE Blade V40 Vita models were unveiled, some of which differ greatly from each other.

ZTE Blade V40 5G and ZTE Blade V40

The name already hints at it: Technically, the two smartphones differ from each other mainly in terms of 5G support. The ZTE Blade V40 and 5G model come with a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel that offers a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. The manufacturer does not provide details about the frame rate; the predecessor only offered 60 hertz.

Inside, a Mediatek Dimensity 1200 octa-core CPU does its job, which is supported by 6 gigabytes of working memory. In addition, 128 GB of internal storage is offered, which can be expanded via microSD card. A screen-to-body ratio of 92.1% is achieved, which promises quite narrow display edges.

In terms of cameras, the ZTE Blade V40 (5G) relies on a 48-megapixel main camera, which is supported by a macro camera with a closest focusing distance of four centimeters and a depth sensor on the rear. The selfie cam sits in a punch hole and offers a resolution of 8 megapixels.

ZTE Blade V40 Vita: With HD+ waterdrop display and long battery life

The ZTE Blade V40 Vita uses a 6.745-inch HD+ waterdrop display, the largest panel in the V40 series, which is also supposed to provide an improved feel. The smartphone is equipped with a high-capacity 6000 mAh battery, a 22.5-watt fast charger, and an AI energy-saving system, thus offering a long battery life. However, the manufacturer did not provide further details so far.

ZTE Blade V40 Pro: Top model faster CPU and 65W fast charging technology

The top model in the lineup goes by the name ZTE Blade V40 Pro and is equipped with a faster Unisoc T618 SoC. The 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with 8-bit color depth covers the wide DCI-P3 color space with full brightness, and the smartphone is only 8.3 mm thin.

The Pro variant is equipped with a 5,100 mAh battery that can be charged quickly with 65 watts. The Pro also offers more than the other V40 variants in terms of the camera. Among other things, a 64-megapixel main camera is offered, which is supported by a 4-cm macro lens, a depth camera including an automatic HDR setting and an 8-MP selfie cam.

Prices and Availability

The ZTE Blade V40 series is scheduled for a gradual release starting in April 2022. By then at the latest, the manufacturer will also reveal all the specifications of the four smartphone models. No information about the price of the smartphones has been given so far.
