Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma: Pro controller with RGB lighting announced

Razer has announced a new edition of its current Wolverine pro controller for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles as well as the PC. The new Wolverine V2 Chroma relies on the manufacturer’s ARGB lighting and can thus be synchronized with other connected peripherals. At the same time, the gamepad also comes up with exciting technical improvements.

New edition with lighting

Razer is relaunching its already available Wolverine V2 pro controller and equipping the gamepad with its own Chroma RGB lighting. Back at the end of last year, they positioned the controller as the latest offshoot at the top of their in-house gamepad series. Apart from the new RGB lighting, the technical features have also changed.

The Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma once again uses the patented spring-loaded Razer Mecha-Tactile action buttons and D-pad, which provide high precision and crisp, tactile feedback. A shortened trigger travel of 0.65 mm ensures a similar pressure feeling as you are used to when releasing a mouse button. The switches are supposed to withstand around three million triggering processes.

Compared to the Wolverine V2, the V2 Chroma reissue not only features the two additional bumpers on the top, but also offers four additional triggers on the back that can be customized. They are centered to be equally easy to reach from all directions.

Trigger stop and ergonomic shape

In addition, the audio button on the front makes a comeback, thanks to which you can adjust the volume of a headset connected via the jack at any time in combination with the control pad.

Another practical feature for shooters is the possibility to adjust the LT and RT triggers thanks to the Hair Trigger mode with Trigger Stop switches and thus shorten the triggering time. Compared to previous Razer controllers, the Wolverine V2 Chrome relies on particularly ergonomic L-shaped grips that allow easier access to bumpers and triggers due to their shorter length. At the same time, the grip horns are rubberized all around for extra grip.

In addition, the analog sticks are customizable thanks to interchangeable attachments. In contrast to the classic, inward-curved design, an outward-curved variant as well as a stick elevation are also available. New to the Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma is the namesake RGB lighting, which can be customized in 16.8 million colors and synced with other connected Razer peripherals.

Price and Availability

The Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma pro controller is available on product page, RazerStores and select retailers for an MSRP of $159.99. The predecessor Wolverine V2 is currently available at Amazon for 95.00 Euros.
