The AGM PAD T2 is a new conventional tablet with Android 14 that is aimed at price-conscious customers. In this country, the manufacturer is better known for its rugged smartphones and particularly robust tablets for outdoor enthusiasts. The AGM PAD T2, on the other hand, does not continue this trend with a thick hull, instead opting for a slim aluminum housing. It also features an FHD+ display with a screen diagonal of around 11 inches and 4 GB of RAM under the hood. The latter can even be expanded to up to 8 GB via software. Equipped with 256 GB of memory, the entry-level tablet should offer enough space for various apps and media files.
Today’s test should clarify whether the AGM PAD T2 is a good choice for less than 200 euros.

Scope of delivery
- Yellow packaging with tablet, protective film and power adapter
- USB-C cable, sticker and operating instructions
- SIM card tool included
The AGM PAD T2 is delivered in striking yellow packaging. In addition to the tablet itself, the box also contains a protective film and the power supply unit with USB-C cable. The whole thing is rounded off with a few stickers, the operating instructions and a SIM card tool.
Appearance & finish
- High-quality design with aluminum casing and 11″ IPS display
- Wide edges look a little old-fashioned
- Uneven vibration motor
Visually, the entry-level tablet makes a solid impression and looks very high-quality thanks to the gray aluminum casing. This extends across the entire back, where the two protruding camera modules are also located. While the upper panel is the primary 13 MP camera, the second module shares a 2 MP macro camera with flash. An 8 MP front camera above the 11-inch IPS display is available for selfie photos. The first thing you notice when you switch it on is the relatively wide edges, which make the tablet look a little old-fashioned.
The narrow sides of the AGM PAD T2 are otherwise rather inconspicuous. While the operating elements are located on one side, the opposite long side has a microphone cut-out. The two shorter sides of the AGM PAD T2 each have a speaker, allowing the tablet to output stereo sound. A USB-C port and a dual SIM slot are also located here.
Overall, the tablet weighs around 502 grams and feels good in the hand. In addition, the two buttons for switching on/off and volume control have a good pressure point. However, there is room for improvement in the vibration motor, which appears to have only been installed in the lower section of the AGM PAD T2. This means that in landscape mode, one side vibrates and the other does not. In addition, the aluminum housing is susceptible to fingerprints, which gradually cause streaks to form on the back.
Features
- Widevine L1 certification for streaming in full quality
- Octa-core CPU with moderate benchmark performance
- 256 GB memory, which can be expanded by up to 512 GB via microSD
CPU, GPU and RAM
According to the technical data, a MediaTek Helio G91 in combination with the ARM Mali-G52 GPU should provide the power under the hood. This seems to differ from our test model that has arrived, which according to several device information relies on a MediaTek Helio G70 or the model designation MT6769. It is therefore possible that our AGM PAD T2 is not yet a final version or the CPU has simply been relabeled, but all of the following benchmarks are based on our current model. Regardless of this, it is an octa-core CPU in both cases. The permanently installed RAM is 4 GB and is increased by a further 4 GB ex works, i.e. to a total of 8 GB.
Benchmarks
Our AGM PAD T2 achieved the following results in the benchmarks:
Geekbench 6 – CPU – Single-Core | 403 |
Geekbench 6 – CPU – Multi-Core | 1363 |
Geekbench 6 – GPU – OpenCL | 564 |
Geekbench 6 – GPU – Vulkan | 1106 |
3DMark – Wild Life – Score | 710 |
3DMark – Wild Life – FPS average | 4,25 |
3DMark – Sling Shot – Score | 1966 |
3DMark – Sling Shot – Graphics score | 1841 |
3DMark – Sling Shot – Physics Score | 2581 |
Display & Memory
The large display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, which achieves a maximum brightness of up to 500 cd/m², is particularly pleasing. With Widevine L1 certification in particular, this is also ideal for streaming. This means that providers such as Netflix and the like can also play back streams in full resolution. In this respect, the AGM PAD T2 is ideal for watching series or movies, as the entry-level tablet reaches its limits when it comes to overly demanding tasks.
There is enough space for this thanks to 256 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded by a further 512 GB using a microSD card. However, as the SD card shares the slot with the SIM cards, you have to make compromises here. You can either use two nano SIM cards in the dual SIM slot or alternatively the microSD card together with a nano SIM card.
Battery
The battery life is a positive aspect, as the 60 Hz display naturally consumes significantly less power. This means you can really get by with the tablet for a while without having to run to the nearest power socket after 2 hours. This can be a particular advantage on longer train journeys or flights. If the 7,850 mAh battery runs out, it can be charged via USB-C. The power adapter supplied delivers up to 18 watts. In total, the AGM PAD T2 lasts for up to 8 hours of video playback. In practice, we achieved a value of around 6 hours of YouTube with an active Wi-Fi connection, depending on the brightness level.
Practical test: Everyday use
- Solid battery life, but moderate system speed
- Bright display for surfing & streaming, optionally with keyboard
- Suitable for simple games, otherwise performance losses
General use
The AGM PAD T2 makes a good impression in everyday use and lasts a solid day – not least thanks to the generously sized battery. However, you should not expect a high-end device here and should therefore lower your expectations somewhat. This is already noticeable in the overall system performance. Especially when starting an application or activating a CPU-intensive task, the AGM PAD T2 likes to take a moment to think. This naturally tarnishes the overall picture somewhat.
A better result is achieved for general browsing or streaming from Netflix to Amazon Prime and Disney+. The display is bright enough here and typing with the Android keyboard works extremely reliably in both landscape and portrait mode despite the almost 11-inch screen. However, if you prefer physical input, you can also order the tablet directly from the manufacturer with a keyboard. Instead of €179, this would mean a surcharge of €30.
Android OS and other features
By and large, the OS, i.e. Android 14, works largely error-free and with the last security update from August 5, 2024, you are up to date. The German language selection is a bit of a shame, as German and English terms are mixed throughout the system. Some translation work is probably still needed here. File transfer with a Windows PC, on the other hand, is more of a problem. With several media or image files, Windows simply displays an error message and suddenly stops the transfer. This phenomenon is particularly common with portrait-format screenshots.
It is also pleasant to be able to switch apps quickly without having to constantly navigate via the home screen. Regardless of the active app, up to five applications can be pinned to the taskbar and called up from there. If you only want to pin three apps, for example, the last two slots are a shortcut to the most recently opened apps. There is also an app launcher at the bottom left-hand edge, which overlays the current application when in use. A neat feature that saves some time in everyday use.
Another time advantage is the facial recognition to unlock the device. In the landscape format test, this works mostly well, but in portrait format there seem to be difficulties with identification. Here, the AGM PAD T2 regularly requires the lock pattern to be entered.
Gaming
In terms of gaming, the AGM PAD T2 is designed more for simpler games, as otherwise the refresh rate drops at times or the graphics have to be scaled down considerably. Although we have tested games such as Genshin Impact or Asphalt Legends Unite on the entry-level tablet, gaming fun is different. Things look much better with Subway Surfers, Clash of Clans or Among Us. We didn’t notice any stuttering or loss of performance here.
Camera
As far as the camera is concerned, the quality is rather mediocre. In good lighting, details are present and the colors also make a good first impression, but the image becomes blurred even at the smallest digital zoom. This effect is of course even more pronounced at dusk or in dark scenes and is common to all camera modules. In this respect, you can take photos and videos with the AGM PAD T2, but these are often not very detailed. If you value good pictures and videos, it is better to use a cell phone camera.
AGM PAD T2 test: Conclusion
The AGM PAD T2 doesn’t set any performance records in 2024, but it doesn’t have to because of the price. In general, this tablet is more of an entry-level model, which is reflected not only in the general system performance but also in the operation and the camera. The same applies to the refresh rate of 60 Hz, which seems almost outdated in the Android sector these days. In this respect, 90 Hz would have been a good interim solution. Even though the AGM PAD T2 advertises complex multitasking, this should not necessarily be taken into consideration. However, the tablet is perfectly adequate for simple work, surfing the Internet or consuming media.
The workmanship and the aluminum casing are praiseworthy, as is the tablet’s long battery life. You won’t find an Android 14 OS with lots of bloatware, as you would expect from other manufacturers, for example. In this respect, you get a very tidy Android system and can get started straight away. Thanks to Widevine L1 certification, Netflix and other streaming services can also be used in full resolution. This makes watching movies and series on the go or in the evening in your own four walls simply fun. The stereo speakers, which are not particularly loud and have virtually no bass, are a slight drawback. However, if you use Bluetooth headphones, you can easily compensate for this.

80/100
The AGM PAD T2 is primarily suitable for simple work and multimedia use. This is where the FHD+ display can really show off its strengths despite 60 Hz. In terms of performance and gaming, however, the entry-level tablet quickly reaches its limits.
