The home kitchen is becoming increasingly modern and thanks to the new BLUETTI FridgePower model, which we take a closer look at in this test, fridges (and especially the food inside) can now also be protected against power failures. It should also be possible to connect other electrical appliances.
According to the manufacturer, the device is primarily aimed at users who are not necessarily able to check and use their own fridge on a daily basis. This includes vacation apartments or AirBNB buildings, but the FridgePower from BLUETTI could also be useful for weekend homeowners, campers or households in general. We reveal whether the appliance delivers what it promises.

Design, construction and processing
As expected, the rather heavy package is delivered in a securely packed box: First of all, you will find the wall bracket, a power cable and the optional feet. The latter are used when the BLUETTI FridgePower is placed on the refrigerator rather than on the wall. This means that it does not have to lie directly on the surface of the refrigerator and can also be positioned horizontally thanks to the height-adjustable feet.
From a purely visual point of view, the refrigerator battery is somewhat inconspicuous and, with its white design, blends in perfectly with all kitchen designs. Whether it is hung on the wall or placed on the fridge or a kitchen cupboard, it immediately blends in with its surroundings. Even the BLUETTI logo, which is clearly visible on the top, does not appear obtrusive, but rather serious and appealing.
The workmanship is also flawless: all corners have been rounded, which makes it safer to use: No unnecessary bruises if you do get caught on the device. The smooth surface remains cool even when in use and all inputs and outputs have been neatly finished.
Attention during assembly: A second person is desirable
Weighing in at just under 20 kilograms, the BLUETTI FridgePower appliance, which was once launched as a Kickstarter campaign, is no lightweight and is also bulky. Regardless of whether the appliance is placed on the fridge or attached to the wall, the manufacturer advises in its operating instructions that a second person should be present to help.
However, the assembly is then child’s play – especially when the product is placed on the fridge. Connect the cable included in the scope of delivery, connect to a power source and the fridge battery can be switched on using the power button.
If wall mounting is desired, the supplied bracket is first attached to the underside of the BLUETTI FridgePower, then the wall plugs and screws are drilled into the wall and the appliance can be hung up.
Also interesting: For mobile use, a high-quality, white handle made of imitation leather is included, which makes it much easier to carry.
The first start-up: What to look out for
To connect the battery, simply plug the AC charging cable into a suitable socket. It is also possible to connect a solar panel or a modern balcony power station. With the latter, however, it is important to ensure that the manufacturer’s requirements (12 to 60 volts, max. 20 amps, max. output 1,000 watts) are not exceeded.
Then simply plug the refrigerator into the BLUETTI FridgePower device, as the backup power battery charges itself while supplying power to the connected electrical appliances. There are two socket connections so that an additional device such as a router, an aquarium or similar products can also be connected. So if you want to prevent your own eufy Omni C28 robot mop from stopping working in the event of a power failure, you can now do so.
There is also a free BLUETTI app that can be used in conjunction with Google Home, Alexa and the like. For example, you can set the device to only charge at certain times, which can be useful in conjunction with a PV system. In expensive peak times, the stored electricity can also be automatically passed on to the connected devices.
The BLUETTI FridgePower in a practical test: What does the battery really deliver?
Depending on how much power the connected appliances require, it can take a few hours before the BLUETTI FridgePower is fully charged. It then provides power for over 24 hours, although this value is of course also dependent on how much power the connected electrical appliances require. In this context in particular, it can be useful to carry out a test run to find out how long the protection provided is for your own appliances.
In our BLUETTI FridgePower test, the appliance (one fridge, no other appliances connected) supplied power for just under 23 hours. If you want to increase this value, you can connect additional BlueCell 200 batteries, which , according to the manufacturer, will provide power for up to four days.
The additional functions are also exciting. These include the power-lifting mode, in which the BLUETTI FridgePower model delivers 1,800 to 3,000 watts. However, this mode must be switched on manually. This also applies to the ECO mode, in which the AC output automatically switches off after a certain time as soon as no (or only low) power is required.
Fast response to power failure guaranteed
If there is a power failure (or if you pull the plug, as in our BLUETTI FridgePower test), the appliance switches over immediately and takes over the power supply. The manufacturer promises that it will start up within less than 10 milliseconds. This means that the BLUETTI FridgePower performs better than a modern rechargeable battery.
If you take the time to get the best possible performance out of the appliance after setting it up via the app, you will be able to save a lot of electricity and money.
BLUETTI FridgePower test: Our conclusion
For the average consumer, the BLUETTI FridgePower Ultra-Slmi Power battery is unlikely to be of much use. However, anyone who has to deal with power cuts or who needs an additional power source with strong performance as a camper will definitely be convinced by this device.
It is definitely worth taking a closer look at the possibilities of the app to get the most out of the fridge battery. Because it shines with state-of-the-art technology, an attractive appearance and a plug-and-play function. Because even without additional settings, the BLUETTI FridgePower fulfills its purpose absolutely convincingly.
