In addition to the power bank itself, the usual documentation and a small bag are also included. The included bag is basically nice, but was not really convincing in everyday use. It looks rather simple and is not of any particular quality. It was therefore no longer used in the test. Visually, the Charmast C2065 has a modern, pleasantly unobtrusive design. In my test, the power bank was used in the color blue. The casing looks simple, but not cheap. Especially for a power bank in this price range, the first impression is absolutely fine.

There is also nothing to complain about in terms of workmanship. The power bank appears stable, the integrated cables sit neatly in the housing and there were no processing faults, sharp edges or other problems. Of course, this is not a premium product with particularly high-quality materials, but the C2065 feels solid enough for everyday use.

Another positive aspect is that the power bank does not appear excessively large despite its capacity. It is not tiny and does not fit inconspicuously in every trouser pocket, but it is still easy to transport for a 20,000 mAh power bank. The format is perfect for a backpack, work bag, luggage or glove compartment.

Connections, cables and display

The most important feature of the Charmast C2065 is clearly the integrated cable. While with many power banks you first have to check whether you have packed the right USB-C, Lightning or micro USB cable, the Charmast is ready to use straight away. This is extremely practical when you’re on the move.

In everyday life, this is a greater advantage than it initially sounds on paper. If you put the power bank in your rucksack, you don’t have to think about cables. Even if several people want to charge different devices, there is a good chance that a suitable connection will be available immediately. This is particularly practical when traveling, in the office, in the car or on longer day trips.

The second useful feature is the integrated display. This shows the current battery level as a percentage and helps to assess whether the power bank should be recharged before the next use. The display is not perfectly accurate. Especially when charging a device, there can be occasional jumps. However, the accuracy is perfectly adequate for everyday use. After all, the decisive factor is not whether there is exactly 43 or 46 percent battery remaining, but whether the power bank still has enough energy for the next use.

In the test, a full charge of the Charmast C2065 Power Bank took around 6.5 hours. This is slightly longer than the specified six hours, but still within reasonable limits. This is not fast, but for a power bank with 20,000 mAh and the low price, it is still acceptable.

In practice, this means that it is best to charge the power bank overnight or during the day. The C2065 is not ideal for users who want to spontaneously recharge their power bank in a short space of time. However, if you recharge it regularly and use it mainly as a reserve for on the go, you will be able to live with the charging time.

Charging an iPhone 13 Pro Max

In the everyday test, the power bank was used with an iPhone 13 Pro Max. The smartphone could be fully charged approximately 3.3 times. Converted, this results in an efficiency of around 70 percent in this scenario.

This is not an outstanding value. Good power banks can work more efficiently here. At the same time, you have to consider the price and the features. For a cheap powerbank with integrated cables, the result is still okay. If you are looking for maximum efficiency, you will find better models. On the other hand, if you are looking for an uncomplicated power bank for everyday use, you will get sufficient usable capacity.

Charging multiple devices

Charging several devices at the same time also worked without any problems in the test. The power bank reliably recognizes connected devices and supplies them with a stable power supply. However, this is also where the model’s limits become apparent: the maximum output power is not particularly high. If several devices are connected at the same time, the power is distributed accordingly, making the charging process noticeably slower.

However, this is still sufficient for typical everyday situations. A smartphone, headphones, a smartwatch or another small device can be charged simultaneously without any problems. However, if you want to charge several devices as quickly as possible or regularly supply tablets, handhelds or even notebooks, you should opt for a more powerful power bank.

With one or two devices connected, the charging speed is sufficient for most scenarios. It is particularly practical that the appropriate cables are directly available and you don’t have to search for accessories first.

The Charmast C2065 Power Bank* is not a power bank for users with particularly high demands. It is not exceptionally fast, not particularly efficient and does not offer any special premium features. But that’s exactly what it doesn’t need to be.

Its strength clearly lies in its suitability for everyday use. The integrated cables are extremely practical and ensure that the power bank can be used directly at any time. The display for showing the battery status is also helpful, even if it is not perfectly accurate. The workmanship and design are perfectly fine for the price range, and the usable capacity is also sufficient to charge a large smartphone such as the iPhone 13 Pro Max several times.

The efficiency and charging speed are the main points of criticism. Around 6.5 hours for a full charge is not fast, and the charging performance when using several devices in parallel is also rather limited. However, these limitations are acceptable in relation to the price.

If you are looking for the most powerful, particularly efficient or technically advanced power bank, you should look for a higher-quality model. On the other hand, if you are simply looking for an inexpensive, practical and uncomplicated power bank for everyday use, travel, office or backpack, you can’t go wrong with the Charmast C2065.
