The scope of delivery of the COSORI TurboBlaze 6L includes a roasting plate in addition to the hot air fryer itself. Additional accessories include the operating instructions and a booklet with a variety of recipes.
Appearance & finish
- Matt dark gray, timeless design with metallic look
- Handle with button for easy basket pull-out
- High-quality finish, well-lit display
The COSORI TurboBlaze 6L has a restrained and timeless look with its matt dark gray housing and the metal look on the top. However, the handle stands out from the hot air fryer with a lighter accent color. Speaking of the handle: a button at the top ensures that the basket can be pulled out of the TurboBlaze 6L. The sides of the air fryer are completely smooth, while there is a holder at the back for threading in the power supply unit.
In terms of workmanship, the COSORI TurboBlaze 6L makes a very good impression. The soft keys provide a pleasant contact and also recognize light touches as keystrokes. The display is bright enough and the color scheme of the controls is well thought out.
Features
- 5 speed settings, 10 automatic programs, customizable
- Temperature range 30-230 °C, time up to 24 hours
- Easy handling, dishwasher-safe parts, quiet locking mechanism
The COSORI TurboBlaze 6L has five speed settings and ten automatic programs that can be conveniently started at the touch of a finger. The fan speed and cooking time with temperature are preset for each automatic program. Of course, these settings are not set in stone and can be adjusted as required using the arrow buttons on both sides. The orange start/stop button on the right-hand side can then be used to start the relevant program. While the temperature and time are shown as figures on the display, the fan speed is highlighted as an orange bar below the display. The temperature range of the COSORI TurboBlaze 6L is between 30° and up to 230 °C and the time setting also offers sufficient leeway from one minute to 24 hours.
The following programs are available on the control panel:
- Hot air frying
- Roasting
- Grilling
- Frozen
- Reheating
- Baking
- Dehydrating
- Proofing
- Preheating
- Keep warm
Other features of the COSORI TurboBlaze 6L include an automatic switch-off function and an acoustic signal when the specified time is exceeded. However, there is no reminder to shake the basket in the form of an acoustic signal or display. After all, this should be done once about halfway through cooking to ensure that the dish is really crispy and done on all sides.
As far as operation is concerned, it is extremely simple. The frying basket can be easily removed from the COSORI TurboBlaze 6L and inserted again. It also audibly clicks into place when inserted. In both cases, simply press the handle button to release the lock. What’s more, both the basket and the roasting plate, which is made of non-stick coated aluminum, are dishwasher-safe. To prevent the latter from slipping in the drawer, there is a silicone strip on the underside on each side.
App scope
- COSORI TurboBlaze 6L is not smart, therefore no control possible
- VeSync offers recipes, cooking time and step-by-step instructions
- App is structured, albeit with minor translation errors
The COSORI TurboBlaze 6L is not a smart hot air fryer. Accordingly, the deep fryer cannot be controlled with VeSync. Instead, the app should be seen as a smart companion. The COSORI TurboBlaze 6L can be stored in your account and individual recipes can be called up via VeSync. COSORI offers a wide range of dishes for this purpose, which can either be selected directly in the cooking table or found by searching. After selecting a recipe, an overview of the required ingredients and the total cooking time is displayed. At the same time, you receive detailed step-by-step instructions including a timer function at the touch of a button.
VeSync’s other functions include the configuration of smart devices and scene creation. In addition, various tracking functions can be used, for example for weight, body measurements, diet and the heart. In this sense, VeSync can also be seen as a smart home cloud, provided you have the right devices.
The app itself has a simple design, but there are a few translation errors in the German language. VeSync is available for both Android and iOS devices.
Practical test
- Use of baking paper makes cleaning easier
- Good results, but lacks an automatic shake reminder
- Crispy frozen pizza despite too small frying basket
In our practical test, cooking with the COSORI TurboBlaze 6L proved to be extremely convenient. To start with, we cut fresh vegetables and prepared them in the air fryer as a vegetable pan. We used the “Roast” mode, which produced a really impressive result. By the way: To make cleaning easier afterwards, we lined the base with baking paper beforehand. However, this does not mean that the baking paper can remain in place during preheating – there is a risk of fire!
Back to the food and the first interim assessment: in terms of taste, our friends gave the vegetable pan a school grade of 1-2. On the other hand, there was a deduction for the slightly burnt mushrooms. In fact, a shaking reminder would have been helpful here. So the only option is to check by hand or set a timer halfway through the cooking time. In terms of volume, the hot air fryer is also clearly audible.
The COSORI TurboBlaze 6L also cuts a fine figure when preparing frozen food. We selected a frozen pizza from the supermarket around the corner for further testing. However, this had to be cut to size first, as the frying basket is a few centimetres too small for a conventional frozen pizza. We originally estimated a baking time of around 12 minutes, but the pizza was actually ready to serve after just 7 minutes. As a result, the crust was nice and crispy and the base fluffy.
Cleaning
- The appliance should first cool down after use
- Wiping with a damp cloth is possible
- Frying basket and roasting plate are dishwasher-safe
It is best to clean the COSORI TurboBlaze 6L after each use. However, the airfryer should cool down for a while beforehand. To speed up the process, simply remove the basket. The outside of the deep fryer can then be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Both the frying basket and the frying plate can be washed in the dishwasher or in hot, soapy water. In the latter case, however, be careful – do not use an abrasive sponge as this will scratch the surface.
In the test, the COSORI TurboBlaze 6L was relatively easy to clean and was clean again in no time at all. It’s that simple.
COSORI TurboBlaze 6L test: Conclusion
The COSORI TurboBlaze 6L scores points with its large capacity of 6 liters, which is enough for 3 to 5 people depending on the dish. It is also easy to use and, thanks to TurboBlaze technology, produces consistently crispy results. And all with no or very little oil added. The COSORI TurboBlaze 6L is also easy to clean. Both the frying basket and the frying plate are dishwasher-safe and non-stick coated.
Another plus point is the generous program menu, which is suitable for a variety of dishes. Gone are the days when you could only prepare chips in deep fryers. Even those who just want to heat up food are just as well served as those who want to fry meat. Even frozen food such as frozen pizza can be placed in it, provided it is cut into pieces beforehand. The VeSync app is also a nice companion for recipes or as a shopping list for the next dish, although the air fryer itself is not smart. Alternatively, a look at the 160-page booklet that COSORI includes will suffice for inspiration.
To summarize, the COSORI TurboBlaze 6L is well worth the money. All foods can be prepared quickly and crispy without any problems. However, if you want to deep-fry several foods at once, you may need to use a hot air fryer with a double chamber. Otherwise, the COSORI TurboBlaze 6L is definitely a solid choice!
