In the Dreame H15 Pro test, we took a look at the manufacturer’s latest creation. The appliance not only aims to score points with its usual powerful mopping performance, which is said to be even better than its predecessors with the help of a helpful robotic arm. Dreame also wants to set new standards in terms of hygiene. For example, hot water cleaning at 100°C is now used for self-cleaning. The whole thing is rounded off with great maneuverability. Dreame H15 Pro test: design and workmanship
Dreame is not reinventing the wheel when it comes to design. The H15 Pro is clearly reminiscent of predecessor models such as the Dreame H13 Pro (Review | € 372.51 *), Dreame H14 (€ 449.99 *) or Dreame H14 Pro (€ 599.00 *). The control unit is located on an ergonomically shaped handle.
The operating buttons can be easily reached with the thumb. The handle ends in the main unit. This is the technical heart of the squeegee. In addition to the display, motor and battery, the large dirty water tank is also located here. If you are looking in vain for the fresh water tank, you should take a look at the brush unit in the lower section.
As with the Tineco Floor One Stretch S6 (Review | € 599.00 *), the fresh water tank is located directly above the cleaning brush. At 780 ml, the volume of the fresh water tank is noticeably smaller than in the previous models, but the amount of water should still be sufficient for most people. The view of the main brush is extremely pleasing.
The wide roller promises almost rimless cleaning, even along furniture and skirting boards. The red rubber lip above the roller is exciting. This is raised and lowered automatically during operation. The overall picture of the Dreame H15 Pro is extremely positive. You get the usual high build quality from the manufacturer.
It doesn’t crack or creak at any point. The control buttons have a great pressure point and the water tanks are easy to insert and remove. I also really like the matt black finish. In combination with the modern look and the discreet charging and cleaning station, the H15 Pro can also be placed comfortably in the living room.
Dreame H15 Pro test: display and app
As befits a modern vacuum cleaner, the Dreame H15 Pro also comes with an attractive display. It scores with high brightness and great colors. Although it cannot keep up with that of a Tineco Floor One S7 Pro (Review | € 699.00 *), it is perfectly adequate in my opinion. You can easily read off the most important parameters here.
The focus here is on the battery life. The battery status is displayed in the form of numbers. However, the current cleaning mode and the results of the dirt sensor can also be seen here using the symbols or the color bar. Really cool: If the vacuum wiper is in self-cleaning mode, you can follow the process on the display. The display can best be compared with that of a Dreame H12 Pro Ultra (Review | € 349.00 *).
The competition from Tineco is now dispensing with app support. Dreame, on the other hand, apparently still sees added value in the connectivity between the mobile device and the vacuum wiper. After all, the H15 Pro wants to score points with app support. The app not only allows you to view the status of the smart household helper. Numerous settings can also be made to fine-tune the vacuum wiper.
Dreame H15 Pro test: Innovative cleaning scraper
Probably the most significant innovation compared to its predecessor can be seen when looking at the cleaning unit. If you push the squeegee forward, the scraper stays up. However, if you pull the household helper back, the scraper automatically lowers to scrape the floor. This has a decisive advantage: the scraper brings the dirt directly up to the cleaning roller. This allows it to pick up the dirt much better.
It also prevents the H15 Pro from leaving too thick a film of water on the floor. Similar to a squeegee used when cleaning windows, the scraper skillfully removes liquids in combination with the cleaning roller. Owners of sensitive wooden floors will be particularly pleased. After all, the system prevents water-related swelling. As the scraper also covers the entire width of the cleaning head, there is effectively no uncleaned area on the H15 Pro.
Dreame H15 Pro test: Flat wiping possible
Anyone who has ever used a squeegee knows that they are rarely lightweight. This is also the case with the Dreame H15 Pro. It’s easy to forget this when in use. After all, Dreame has implemented a few helpful features. Firstly, there are the motorized wheels on the underside. As a user, you are supported when pushing or pulling back the smart household helper.
The H15 Pro automatically recognizes the direction in which you want to move the squeegee and adjusts the roller movement accordingly. This makes the wiper feel much lighter than it actually is. In practice, it can even be operated with one finger, which makes it extremely easy to use. Another helpful feature is the ability to lay the vacuum cleaner flat. Dreame already celebrated the premiere of this feature with the H14 Pro.
The whole thing is comparable with the Roborock Flexi Pro (Review | € 529.00 *). This can also be laid completely flat. When it comes to cleaning under flat furniture, however, the competition from Roborock is ahead. While the Flexi Pro has an LED on the cleaning unit, Dreame does not. This is a shame and detracts a little from the premium feel of the smart household helper.
Dreame H15 Pro test: cleaning performance
When it comes to cleaning performance, the Dreame H15 Pro is beyond reproach. Even stubborn stains such as dried jam are wiped up by the vacuum wiper in no time at all. A look at the technical data makes it clear that the great cleaning result is not magic, but is based on powerful hardware.
The cleaning roller of the smart household helper is not only pleasingly fast at 480 rpm. The vacuum wiper also offers impressive suction power at 21,000 pascals. However, the cleaning is not only powerful, but also efficient.
One reason for this is the special comb, which is attached to the cleaning roller and combs dirt residues out of the roller. This means that the Dreame does not spread any dirt residue that sticks to the roller, but sucks it up directly. The combination of the wide cleaning roller and the scraper described above also pays off.
During the test, I was not only pleased that no uncleaned edges remained in the area of skirting boards or flat furniture. The scraper also makes it easier to soak up liquids. In addition, the floor dries extremely quickly by scraping off damp residue.
Dreame H15 Pro test: Self-cleaning
After each cleaning session, the H15 Pro cleans itself. You start this in the charging station. To do this, simply press the corresponding button on the top of the handle. The cleaning process can then be tracked. The station uses fresh water from the vacuum cleaner’s water tank and heats it to an impressive 100°C. This reliably kills bacteria.
The roller is then dried. Dreame offers quick drying, which dries the roller within 5 minutes with 90°C hot air. Alternatively, you can also choose the standard 30-minute hot air drying with a slightly lower temperature. If you want a super clean and extra dry roller, you should select the 30-minute program.
The corresponding setting option can be found in the app. On the display, you can see how far the vacuum wiper’s self-cleaning has progressed. Thanks to the powerful self-cleaning function, you don’t have to worry about a lot of cleaning work. All you have to do is regularly fill the fresh water tank and empty the dirty water tank.
As Dreame integrates a practical sieve in the dirty water tank, liquids and solids are easily separated. This means you can easily dispose of the waste water in the toilet and the solids in the waste garbage can. The practical cleaning tool included in the scope of delivery makes it easy to clean the waste water tank.
Dreame H15 Pro test: battery life
Experience shows that you shouldn’t expect excessive battery runtimes from vacuum cleaners. However, the Dreame H15 Pro certainly surprises in this discipline. The reason for this is the large battery, which has an impressive capacity of 6 x 5,000 mAh. According to Dreame, this should ensure a runtime of up to 60 minutes. At least on the lowest setting. If you opt for the automatic mode, in which the vacuum cleaner automatically adjusts the power level, it can also run for 35 minutes or more. This means you can clean an average-sized home without any problems.
