Eufy C15 Review: A Great Robotic Lawn Mower for Beginners

If you have a small to medium-sized garden and are tired of mowing the lawn every week, but also don’t want to spend hours installing boundary wires or an RTK antenna, the eufy C15—available since May 2026—is an interesting option. This robotic mower is positioned below the well-known E-Series (E15, E18) and is specifically aimed at first-time users with urban gardens up to 500 m². That sounds appealing in theory—but how does the C15 really perform in everyday use? I’ve tested the device extensively and experienced both its strengths and weaknesses. To cut to the chase: For its price of 899 euros (Solo) or 999 euros including the garage, the eufy C15 delivers solid performance that gives many more expensive competitors a run for their money.

Design and Workmanship

Visually, the C15 is very clearly modeled after the two models, the eufy E15 (€ 899.00 *) and the eufy E18 (€ 1,638.99 *). The compact housing comes in a simple white with black accents, which seamlessly integrates the color scheme and shape into the existing eufy lineup.

The build quality makes a rock-solid impression: The housing looks high-quality and is well-constructed, the gaps are neat, and there’s no creaking or squeaking anywhere. On the top, in addition to the five controls (Stop, Power, Start/Pause, Home, OK), there’s also the large dial for adjusting the cutting height—more on that later.

You won’t find a display here; the battery level can only be read via a small LED strip. Weighing in at around 10 kg, the C15 is relatively lightweight. This makes it easy to carry from one place to another.

But this also benefits its handling. The wheels dig in less deeply than on lighter models, which helps preserve the lawn’s surface. Its compact dimensions allow it to pass through narrow spaces as narrow as 60 cm—an advantage over some larger competitors.

Setup and Commissioning

Eufy promotes the setup process with the slogan “Ready to go in 5 minutes”—and it actually comes pretty close to that. After unpacking, first secure the charging station to the ground using the included screws (if necessary) and connect it to a power source. Then download the Eufy app, create a free account, and pair the robotic mower via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The app then guides you very intuitively through the initial automatic mapping of the lawn. The C15 autonomously navigates the area and creates an initial map of the garden within just a few minutes. During my first mapping run, there were still a few small gaps in the map—but the robot reliably filled these in during its first actual mowing run, since it didn’t detect any obstacles in those areas.

No manual mapping, no laying out cables, no setting up RTK antennas: This is actually a real advantage over many competitors. The total time required before the first mow can realistically be estimated at half an hour to three-quarters of an hour—which is refreshingly straightforward for beginners. There is one minor drawback, however: Both a Wi-Fi and a Bluetooth connection are required for setup. Anyone with poor Wi-Fi coverage in their yard may run into problems here—though the optional 4G module can help resolve this issue.

Eufy App

The Eufy app is clearly organized and, after the initial mapping, offers a remarkable range of features. You can set up multiple zones via the app—meaning the robot can navigate and mow separate lawn areas one after another, which is especially handy for gardens with distinct sections. In addition, restricted zones and virtual walls can be marked on the map to protect flower beds, ponds, or areas bordering a neighbor’s yard.

Other configurable parameters include the mowing direction, the track spacing between passes (for more speed or more precision), the distance from the lawn edge, and complete schedules. A live feed from the front camera can also be accessed in the app—handy for monitoring the mowing process or taking a quick look at the yard if you hear any suspicious noises. The anti-theft feature can also be activated via the app. One thing that bothered me a bit: The cutting height cannot be adjusted via the app, but only using the physical dial on the device itself.

For a robotic lawn mower that is otherwise fully controllable via smartphone, this feels like a minor step backward. In practice, however, it’s not a serious problem, since the cutting height is rarely changed anyway. I also noticed that the rain sensor’s sensitivity required a bit of fine-tuning: in light rain, the C15 sometimes simply kept mowing in the default setting instead of returning to the charging station—but a quick adjustment of the settings in the app fixed this issue.

Navigation and Obstacle Detection

The C15’s TrueVision technology is based on two AI cameras that provide the device with real-time information about its surroundings. According to the manufacturer, the system detects over 300 different types of obstacles—from garden furniture and toys to planters, small animals, and hedgehogs. In practice, the obstacle detection performs impressively across the board.

Whether it was a pot, a tennis ball, or a coffee cup—the eufy C15 skillfully and reliably navigated around all my obstacles. It gets pleasingly close to the object to keep the unmowed area as small as possible. The robot also handles narrow passages as narrow as 60 cm with ease, and it works just as reliably under trees and in the shade as it does in direct sunlight.

It navigates systematically in parallel paths, ensuring a neat, striped mowing pattern. The automatic re-mowing feature prevents any missed spots, and when the battery is low, the robot automatically returns to the charging station before resuming where it left off.

Limitations become apparent primarily on steeper terrain: The C15 is designed for slopes up to 18°, which should be sufficient for most home gardens. However, anyone looking to mow rugged terrain with full-sized hills will reach the limits of this device. In addition, the lawn area should, if possible, be clearly defined on all sides—an open lawn area without natural or structural boundaries can make it difficult for the C15 to map the area and perform its work.

Mowing Performance

In terms of mowing performance, the eufy C15 delivers very good results for its price point. With a cutting width of 180 mm and a coverage rate of around 80 m² per hour, it takes a good three to four hours to mow a typical 300-m² garden —which is consistent with our measurements, in which it covered about 100 m² using standard settings in just under an hour.

The 180-mm cutting width is slightly narrower than the 203 mm of the more expensive E-Series models, but this is hardly noticeable in everyday use. Thanks to the parallel cutting pattern, the mowing result is even and leaves a professional striped pattern—especially with regular use, the lawn looks truly well-maintained.

The cutting height can be continuously adjusted between 20 and 60 mm using the dial, offering a good range for different lawn needs. This covers everything from fine ornamental lawns to hardy, high-traffic grass. Thanks to Ride-on-Edge technology, the C15 can—provided the lawn boundary allows it—mow very close to edges, eliminating the need for additional trimming, at least on flat mowing edges.

However, if you have raised lawn borders, you’ll need to manually touch up the edges. The C15 does not offer a special feature for edge mowing. The robot is pleasantly quiet during operation. With an operating noise level of 58 dB, the C15 is quieter than a normal conversation and won’t disturb you in your own yard or your neighbors.

Conclusion

The eufy C15 is a successful entry-level robotic mower that clearly targets a specific audience: garden owners with lawns up to 500 m² who don’t want to spend time on complicated installation but still expect a smart, fully automatic device. However, if your yard is larger or has steeper terrain, you should take a look at the eufy E15 or E18. For everyone else, the C15 is currently one of the most compelling options in the under-1,000-euro segment and a true value-for-money pick—especially for smart-home beginners who want to dive into the world of autonomous lawn care with minimal effort.
