The C30 Edge, the latest robot vacuum from eufy, has found a home in my house. Anker unveiled the compact robot vacuum at IFA 2026 and has clearly positioned it in the mid-range category, though it boasts a suction power of up to 35,000 Pa—a feature eufy usually reserves for its top-of-the-line models. Its unique selling point compared to the simpler Omni C30 is its laser-assisted edge cleaning. I tested the device in my home for a few days as part of my daily routine.

Design and Build Quality of the eufy C30 Edge
Both the robot and the base station make a really good impression on me. Both feel well-built, sturdy, and as if they were made from a single piece. Nothing wobbles or creaks, and the materials feel high-quality for this price range. The robot itself is quite slim; only the LiDAR tower on top adds noticeable bulk.
You notice this especially with very low furniture. While the C30 Edge has no trouble sliding under my coffee table, the gap under my couch—which is just under 10 cm high—was too low for it. It’s a shame the tower can’t be retracted to solve this problem. But that would be unusual in this price range.
On the underside, the single-sided, spiral-shaped main brush stands out, featuring a conical design. This is intended to allow hair to slide off and be sucked into the intake chute, preventing clogs. There’s also a side-facing laser on the side of the robot.
This laser is designed to measure the distance to furniture edges and baseboards and trigger the command to clean along edges using the extendable mop. I’m particularly impressed by the station’s compact design. It takes up significantly less space than many competing models, which now look almost like small cabinets.
This form factor should appeal to anyone looking for a robot vacuum with an all-in-one docking station but who doesn’t have a lot of space available. The water tanks sit on top of the docking station, with the dust bag underneath—a neat, unobtrusive design that blends in well with my home.
eufy App
Setting it up via the Anker eufy app was pleasantly straightforward for me: just scan the QR code, and the app guides you step by step through the process.
The main menu clearly groups all the important settings—such as suction power, water flow, and navigation behavior—in one place. You can also customize the robot vacuum’s behavior and the cleaning station’s operation here.
I was particularly impressed that the C30 Edge comes with Matter certification right out of the box. This allows it to be integrated independently of the Anker ecosystem, including Apple Home. That’s anything but a given in this price range.
Navigation and Obstacle Detection
Unfortunately, the C30 Edge has shown some weaknesses here and there when it comes to navigation and obstacle detection. While mapping itself went quite well thanks to the LiDAR tower, and navigation proceeds consistently and according to plan, it falls short when it comes to obstacle detection.
While larger obstacles are still detected and navigated around quite reliably, clear weaknesses become apparent with smaller objects. In testing, for example, it overlooked a cable, drove over it, and promptly wrapped it around its main brush. I unfortunately had to deal with this several times during the test period. But even with larger objects, problems arose here and there.
For instance, it bumped rather roughly into the legs of my child’s chair. Fortunately, it was able to free itself from this predicament. Due to these weaknesses in obstacle detection, it’s essential to check the floor thoroughly before every cleaning session to ensure the eufy doesn’t suck up small objects.
I was only partially satisfied with the mapping results. While it reliably detected walls and other large obstacles, the room layout didn’t quite match reality. You’ll need to set aside a few minutes to adjust the map.
Suction Power of the eufy C30 Edge
According to the manufacturer, AeroTurbo 2.0 technology ensures consistent suction power of up to 35,000 Pa over extended periods, while the single-sided Zero-Tangle roller brush is designed to direct hair directly into the dustbin. The side brush can also change its rotation direction to loosen stuck hair, but unfortunately, it isn’t retractable.
Here’s how it performs in my daily use: With fine dust and powder, the C30 Edge delivers flawless performance, though occasionally coarser particles like flakes remain on the floor. On the other hand, the robot really impressed me on short-pile carpet.
Here, it automatically increases its suction power and reliably picks up dirt as well as my cats’ hair. It also delivers consistently impressive performance on tile floors—dirt and hair are picked up with absolute reliability, and the surface remains visibly clean.
Mopping Performance of the eufy C30 Edge
According to the manufacturer, the MopMaster 3.0 system with its two rotating mop pads operates at a contact pressure of 10 newtons. The key feature of the Edge model is its edge cleaning capability. According to eufy, a side-mounted laser detects more than 100 different baseboard profiles and automatically extends the mopping head by up to 76 mm as needed.
The C30 Edge reliably removes fresh stains in my home without smearing them. However, it reaches its limits with dried-on residue—these aren’t completely removed even after several passes. If you want to quickly wipe up a coffee spill from the floor in the evening, this device is a good choice. On the other hand, if you’re hoping the robot will pick up dried-on residue from the day before, you’ll have to wipe it up yourself.
Cleaning Station
The station reliably handles all standard tasks for me: emptying the dirt bin, washing the mopping pads with warm water, followed by drying, as well as refilling the water and charging during off-peak hours.
The dust bag holds 2.5 liters. For me, though, the real plus is the station’s small footprint: It fits even in smaller apartments without taking over the hallway—unlike many of the competitors’ bulkier docks.
Conclusion
The eufy C30 Edge leaves me with a positive, though nuanced, impression. The design and build quality are truly impressive, as is the compact charging station, which blends unobtrusively into even smaller apartments. The app is easy to use, and the factory-installed Matter certification is a real plus for this price range. Suction performance is a mixed bag: fine dust is reliably picked up, but there are some minor shortcomings when it comes to coarser debris.
The situation is similar when it comes to mopping. Fresh stains are no problem, but dried-on residue remains. For me, the biggest weakness remains obstacle detection—the robot simply doesn’t recognize cables, which means a bit of tidying up is required before every cleaning run. However, anyone looking for a robot vacuum with a practical, compact all-in-one charging station should still take a look at the eufy C30 Edge.
PROS
- High suction power of 35,000 Pa
- Compact base station saves space
- Matter-certified
- Premium build quality of robot and station
- Extendable mopping pad
CONS
- Weak obstacle detection
- Too tall for low furniture under 10 cm
Conclusion
The eufy C30 Edge impresses with strong suction power and a compact base station, but falls short in obstacle detection. At under $600, it's a solid mid-range device with a space-saving form factor.
