There are robotic vacuum cleaners that seem rather cautious – and there are models that get going as if they have an appointment: The JONR X9 Pro makes it clear in the test which type it belongs to. The robot moves swiftly, follows its tracks with vigor and does not give the impression that it is constantly “thinking” about whether it would be better to start again. This is exactly what makes it so exciting, because JONR not only relies on high suction power with the X9 Pro, but above all on a mopping roller that works continuously with clean water. And the station does not hide its large tanks behind a panel, but makes them a visible part of the design. An approach that is as clear as it is consistent – and which reveals both the strengths and limitations of the appliance early on.

The scope of delivery of the JONR X9 Pro is really manageable
Anyone expecting a lavish accessory package from a flagship will quickly realize that JONR sees things differently with the X9 Pro. It comes with the bare essentials – nothing more. No cleaning agent, no spare mop rolls, no brush collection. Instead, everything that is pre-assembled is ready for immediate use – and the station is clearly intended as a fully automatic control center, not just a charging station.
The scope of delivery at a glance:
- JONR X9 Pro Robot Vacuum Cleaner
- Station
- 1 side brush (pre-installed on the robot)
- Ramp/ramp extension plate for the station
- Dust bag (pre-installed in the station)
- Mop roller (pre-installed on the robot)
- Instruction manual
The fact that no replacement accessories are included is probably a question of cost on the one hand, but also a statement on the other: JONR is committed to ensuring that the supplied system works for a long time before you even have to think about replacing it. Whether this works in practice, of course, depends on how intensively you use the robot.
Station & processing: visibly large tanks, clean gap dimensions, less “dust magnet”
The most striking detail of the station is the two large tanks, which do not disappear behind a door. Fresh water at the front, dirty water behind – simple, easy to reach and you can see at a glance whether you need to refill soon. That sounds like a minor detail, but it’s actually very convenient in everyday life.
In our opinion, JONR has left little room for complaint in terms of workmanship. The surfaces appear robust, the fits are perfect and we also noticed how present the tanks really are when moving them around: We reflexively grabbed not the station, but the two water tanks. This happens exactly when the things are so easy to grip that they are the first thing to offer themselves. No harm, but a good sign for handling. There is also a point that is worth more than it sounds during operation: the housing does not immediately accept dust and lint gratefully. That doesn’t mean it never gets dirty, but it doesn’t look like it’s been put through a tumble dryer after two days.
As for the footprint: In the course of our test, we measured the JONR X9 Pro station to be 35 cm wide, 44 cm deep including the extended ramp and 43 cm high. It has to be said that this is not compact. If you have little space in the corner, you should check this beforehand. On the other hand, it doesn’t look like a squeezed compromise, but like a device that has the space it needs for its tasks.
Setup & app: currently Xiaomi Home – and you can tell
We run the X9 Pro via the Xiaomi Home app. The setup is uncomplicated within the framework of what we know from the platform: 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, pair, add device, done. If you already know the app, you’ll be done in just a few minutes. Anyone using it for the first time will need a little more time, but no need to study.
What we like about it: Maps, rooms, restricted zones, cleaning schedules, it’s all there quickly without you having to mill through ten submenus. The maps are created quickly and the room layout works perfectly for us straight away. What you should know: The actual settings, i.e. suction levels, mopping intensity and schedules, are dependent on the app. If you don’t like Xiaomi Home, you have little room for maneuver. However, there are alternatives for basic control by voice command: Alexa and Google Assistant are supported, so the robot can at least be started, stopped and sent home without touching the app. For everything beyond that, however, there is no way around Xiaomi Home.
Cleaning concept in the JONR X9 Pro test: Fresh water mopping without detergent tank
With the X9 Pro, JONR is clearly promoting hygiene, but without the typical detergent tank in the station. There is no separate container for solution and no liquid in the box. The core of the mopping process is therefore water and the system that continuously moistens the mopping roll and cleans and dries it again in the station. The 16 nozzles ensure that the roller is moistened evenly, no spot wetting, no dry mopping halfway through. With 4 liters of fresh water and 3.2 liters of dirty water capacity, refilling and emptying costs are kept to a minimum. The manufacturer’s clear instructions are important: Do not put any detergents or soaps in the water tank.
This is a conscious decision and not an oversight. If you absolutely want to work with cleaning additives, you must adhere to the instructions or leave it out completely before you ruin seals and hoses unnecessarily. For most floors, however, the fresh water principle is sufficient for everyday use. The strongest hygiene point is provided by the station itself anyway: The mop roll is dried after each use with warm air between 45 and 75 degrees. A damp roll between two uses is exactly what promotes the formation of odors, and this is exactly what is prevented here. The system remains low-maintenance because there is no built-in dosing technology for cleaning additives that would need to be clogged or calibrated at some point.
Speed in the area: “hardly any consideration for losses”, but with good results
The way the JONR X9 Pro drives in the test, it is not the robot for people who are looking for peace and quiet while watching. The impression is rather that it wants to finish. This is particularly noticeable in open areas where it doesn’t have to slow down much. Nevertheless, it doesn’t seem chaotic. It approaches edges cleanly, stays close enough without constantly scraping, and covers the surface quickly. The fact that, according to the manufacturer, it can cover up to 200 m² per battery charge fits in with the overall impression.
However, there are two sides to this speed. Positive: It’s quick and the result is good. Negative: In tighter areas, the handling sometimes feels a little over-enthusiastic because it corrects less smoothly than some competitor models, which navigate visibly more carefully. So if you have a lot of chair legs, narrow passageways or small furniture arrangements, you will notice this more often than someone with a large, open floor plan. In the case of obstacles, it crosses up to 25 mm with the mop roller fitted, without the roller it is 30 mm. This is sufficient for typical door thresholds, but you should measure uneven transitions or thick carpet edges beforehand.
Edges & corners: clean approach, but of course no miracles
It approaches edges convincingly. It remains stable along skirting boards, draws a clean line and doesn’t appear to keep a centimeter safety distance for fear of contact. You can see this in the result: the edges actually look clean after one pass, not just “cleaner than before”. JONR advertises a zero-edge approach here, in which the mop roller and side brush are brought close to obstacles by design, and this matches what we see in practice. For corners, as always, without extendable mechanics, a round robot is physically limited, but the edge work here is definitely a plus point compared to many competitors.
JONR X9 Pro test: strong suction, mop roller stays up
On carpet, the JONR X9 Pro demonstrates one of its stronger disciplines in the test. It reliably recognizes the change of surface and automatically raises the mop roller using an auto-lift before it moves onto the carpet. According to the manufacturer, the side brush is also lifted in order to avoid dirt ingress through brush contact. The mop roller reaches a distance of up to 25 mm from the floor, which is enough to get over the surface safely even on slightly higher pile carpets. In pure suction mode, the up to 20,000 Pa then comes into its own, and the robot also works its way into short-pile surfaces. This is exactly the kind of logic that you hardly notice in everyday life, but immediately miss when another robot doesn’t have it.
LiDAR tower: not retractable – and that is a real limiter in practice
One point that is particularly noticeable in the JONR X9 Pro test: the LiDAR tower is fixed. This means that the height is as it is. And this also makes it clear where the X9 Pro cannot go. The robot reaches a height of 11 cm, and if you have furniture with less clearance at the bottom, you can simply write off the area. It doesn’t fit under very low chests of drawers, beds or sofas, which some of the current competition with a retractable tower can still slide under. And the comparison is getting sharper: there are now models without a tower that are even flatter and reach areas that are simply off-limits for the X9 Pro. This is not a small detail, but a tough application filter that can be clarified with a quick measurement before purchase. Especially in 2026, this point is more important than it was two years ago.
Maintenance in the JONR X9 Pro test: simple water handling, classic consumables
The JONR X9 Pro test also shows that JONR focuses on simplicity when it comes to maintenance. The station works with a dust bag and separate water containers.
The procedure is quickly explained and quickly completed in practice: change the dust bag, take out the tank, put in fresh water, remove dirty water. Once you’ve done it once, you’ll be done in under two minutes the next time. The dust bag holds 2.5 liters and, according to the manufacturer, should last up to 60 days without needing to be changed, which proves to be pleasantly inconspicuous in everyday use.
The key point about the mopping system is as follows: the roll is cleaned in the station and then dried with warm air, which is the standard procedure according to the instructions, but can be adjusted via the app. The drying process takes around two hours, which you should be aware of if you want to restart the robot shortly after a run. This reduces the workload, but does not replace it completely. If you have pets or a lot of lint, you will still have to use the brush and roller from time to time. There is no way around this, and the maintenance section of the instructions makes this very clear.
Who is the JONR X9 Pro suitable for?
The X9 Pro is not a device that tries to fit everyone. JONR has made clear choices here, and those who can cope with them will get a well-rounded package. If you have a lot of hard floor space, take edges seriously and appreciate a mopping system that feels well thought out, this is the right choice for you. If, on the other hand, you have a lot of low furniture, want to work with a cleaning additive or fundamentally reject Xiaomi Home, you should take a closer look at the alternatives.
If you remain in the same price range but see the fixed LiDAR tower as an exclusion criterion, you can take a look at the Roborock Saros 10R. It has a height of less than 8 cm without a tower and therefore reaches areas that are simply out of bounds for the X9 Pro. If you have a little more budget and also want a retractable tower, hot water cleaning and greater climbing ability, you will end up with the Dreame X50 Ultra Complete, which cleans under furniture from 8.9 cm and overcomes thresholds of up to 6 cm, but costs well over 1,000 euros. In a similar price range, the Mova Z60 Ultra Roller Complete has also established itself as a strong alternative with a mop roller concept, which has performed very well in several tests.
The X9 Pro has to hold its own against this competition, and it succeeds above all where the cleaning concept, workmanship and station design are convincing. If that’s exactly what you’re looking for, the X9 Pro is one of the most convincing candidates in this price range.
JONR X9 Pro test summary: strong overall package with a clear personality and a height hook
In the test, the JONR X9 Pro scored points for two things in particular: It works quickly while delivering a good result, and it combines this with a fresh water wipe attachment that feels clean to the end. The finish and station design look high quality, the tanks are a real statement, and the station doesn’t immediately become a dust and lint magnet. That’s more than you can say for some appliances in this price range.
However, the limitations are just as clear. The scope of delivery is limited, there is no detergent tank, and the fixed LiDAR tower limits the places of use more than you would actually like for a flagship 2026. If these points are right for you – and Xiaomi Home is not an exclusion criterion – then the X9 Pro is a pretty convincing candidate.
