Lefant A1 Pro Air Purifier Review: Designed Specifically for Pets

Air purifiers often require users to make significant compromises. Either they provide high airflow but are noisy, or they run quietly but can’t handle pet hair and dust on the floor. The Lefant A1 Pro aims to address this very issue and, in doing so, appeal primarily to pet owners. Thanks to 360° air intake, an additional floor cyclone suction system, and a three-stage filtration system with an H13 HEPA filter, the A1 Pro aims to be a true all-rounder—not a compromise. We took a closer look at the A1 Pro and tested whether the concept works in everyday life with my furry cats.

Design of the Lefant A1 Pro

Visually, Lefant has opted for a cylindrical, fairly compact design (278 × 425 mm) for the A1 Pro, intended to blend unobtrusively into various home decor styles. This works quite well, but a Dreame FP10 (Review | € 371.00 *) still looks significantly more elegant. However, the competitor is also significantly more expensive.

The most striking design feature is the external, motorized rotating casing. Unlike most air purifiers, which draw in air from only one side, the rotation distributes the air intake evenly across the entire circumference.

During testing, I found this design clever at first glance: Because the air inlets constantly shift due to the rotating outer casing, dust and pet hair are distributed more evenly across the filter instead of accumulating in one spot. In the long run, this should prevent one-sided clogging of the filter and thus extend its service life.

Convenient: The outer shell is transparent, so you can check the condition of the pre-filter at a glance at any time without having to open the device. This is complemented by an additional floor-level cyclone intake designed to specifically capture pet hair, dust, and crumbs that remain at floor level.

Many traditional air purifiers with only side intake often fail to achieve this. At the top of the unit is a small display with ambient lighting that uses a color code (green/blue/red) to show the current PM2.5 level in the room, allowing you to stay informed about key parameters without even opening the app.

Safety & Pet-Friendliness

Since the A1 Pro is explicitly designed for households with cats and dogs, Lefant has clearly gone to great lengths here:

  • Tilt protection: A low center of gravity combined with a flat, non-slip top surface designed to withstand the weight of jumping cats.
  • Chew-Resistant Cable: A sheathed, braided power cord designed to withstand chewing by dogs or even rodents.
  • Tilt-Protection Shut-Off: A tilt sensor automatically shuts off the device as soon as it tilts too far—at 45°, according to the spec sheet.
  • Paw-safe mesh design: Protects both pets’ paws and children’s hands from reaching inside.
  • Quiet operation: Designed to prevent stress and restlessness in pets.

Filter Technology & Air Purification Performance

At the heart of the A1 Pro is its three-stage filtration system:

  1. Pre-filter: According to the manufacturer, the 80-mesh pre-filter captures about 97% of coarse, loose pet hair and lint before it reaches the main filter and can be easily cleaned under running water. If you want particularly high filtration efficiency (such as in cases of heavy pet hair), you can alternatively switch to the included electrostatic cotton filter—which filters more finely but restricts airflow slightly more.
  2. H13 HEPA filter (medical standard): According to the data sheet, it filters out up to 99.97% of particles 0.3 μm or larger—including mold spores, dust, pollen, and pet hair.
  3. Activated carbon filter (coconut shell): Responsible for breaking down odors and VOCs, such as the ammonia smell from the litter box, general household odors, and volatile organic compounds—with an odor removal rate of over 99.9%, according to the manufacturer.

With a CADR of 350 m³/h and a maximum air circulation volume of 450 m³/h, the A1 Pro is designed for rooms ranging from 30 to 40 m². However, I find the 40 m² figure to be quite ambitious. A more realistic range is probably 20 to 30 m².

The built-in PM2.5 sensor measures air quality around the clock and displays it using the traffic-light colors green/blue/red directly on the device’s touchscreen as well as in the app.

Operating Noise

Lefant specifies a minimum noise level of 28 dB. To achieve this, you need to switch from Auto mode to Sleep mode. In our test, the A1 Pro operated pleasantly quietly with a low-frequency hum despite its comparatively high airflow rate. At no point were there any shrill or otherwise disruptive noises.

However, it’s also true that the volume increases as you raise the fan speed. In addition to Sleep and Auto modes, there are six manual fan speeds (F1–F6) to choose from. You can activate these via the app.

  • F1–F2: low speed, very quiet
  • F3–F4: medium speed, balanced everyday cleaning
  • F5–F6: high setting, for rapid air purification

Setup & App

In theory, you can control the A1 Pro directly on the device itself. The most important settings are already available here. However, to access the full range of features, you’ll need the Lefant app.

Using the app or the control panel on the device, you can:

  • view real-time PM2.5 readings,
  • switch between the 6 fan speeds,
  • turn the ambient lighting on or off (conveniently right on the device, without having to use the app—important for light-sensitive sleepers),
  • set a 1–12-hour timer,
  • check the remaining filter life as a percentage and the operating hours,
  • and receive automatic push notifications reminding you to change the filter.

Comparison to the Competition

In its spec sheet, Lefant positions the A1 Pro against models from Xiaomi, Airthereal, and Levoit. Lefant highlights key differences. While the competing models each rely on static, side-mounted suction without floor detection, the A1 Pro is the only device in the comparison that combines a rotating 360° outer shell with additional floor cyclonic suction. In practice, it became clear that even cat hair located far away was effectively picked up from the floor.

In terms of pure performance as well, with a CADR of 350 m³/h, it significantly outperforms the comparable models, some of which achieve only 230 m³/h or less. In terms of filter design, the A1 Pro is the only model to feature an integrated 360° cylindrical filter made of H13 HEPA and a comparatively thick layer of activated carbon, and it also leads the competition when it comes to animal-friendly features.

Conclusion

With its combination of rotating 360° intake and additional floor cyclone intake, the Lefant A1 Pro addresses a problem that many air purifiers face in households with cats and dogs: pet hair left on the floor. During testing, I was particularly impressed by the well-thought-out design of the rotating outer casing and the pleasantly quiet operation despite high airflow. Combined with the three-stage H13 HEPA filter system, the two selectable pre-filter options, and the well-thought-out safety features for pets, the device is clearly tailored to its target audience.

My only criticism is the specified maximum room size of 40 m², which seemed a bit ambitious to me in everyday use. Overall, however, the A1 Pro is an air purifier that I can recommend to people with allergies and, above all, to cat and dog owners. With the code MAMTBEDW, there’s a big discount promotion running until 09/27/26. Here you can grab the air purifier on Amazon for €139.99.
