MONSGA MR7 PRO Review – The robot vacuum for a small price

The market for robotic vacuum cleaners has grown enormously in recent years – and with it the number of suppliers vying for consumers’ favor with ever more powerful appliances. Right in the middle of it all: MONSGA, a comparatively young smart home brand with the slogan “Unleash Monster-Like Power. Clean with Game-Like Fun.” aimed at a younger, tech-savvy audience. In May 2026, the company unveiled its most ambitious device to date: the MONSGA MR7 PRO, a robot vacuum and mop combo appliance that aims to score points above all with its incredible price-performance ratio. We took a close look at the device and report on what the MR7 PRO can really do, where it excels – and where there is still room for improvement.

Design and workmanship of the MONSGA MR7 Pro

Visually, the MR7 PRO has a simple, modern design in black anthracite that blends seamlessly into modern living environments. The circular housing has a diameter of around 35 cm and a height of around 9.5 cm – so it fits under most sofas and cupboards without appearing too small. On the top is a LiDAR tower for laser-based navigation and a rudimentary control unit with two buttons.

At the front is the obstacle detection system, which is also laser-based. There is also a bumper here to protect furniture and the robot from damage. On the underside, you can see a bright green side brush and the equally strikingly colored main brush. MONSGA uses a fully rubberized design for the main brush to prevent hair from getting tangled. Last but not least, there is a wiping pad on the underside.

The MR7 Pro comes with a practical suction station that empties the dust container of the smart household helper after every cleaning session. It is a perfect visual match for the robot hoover and comes with a 4-liter dust bag. The flat protective plate in front of the station is practical. In contrast to many other models with a pure suction station, the MR7 Pro offers effective moisture protection from the damp mop.

This is particularly important if the smart household helper is to be placed on a sensitive wooden floor, for example. But the plate also simply ensures that the Robo can dock more smoothly, which also pays off in everyday life. The suction station itself comes in a compact form factor and, just like the Robo, scores points with its solid workmanship. Practical for allergy sufferers and pet owners: the bag can be changed using a pull-out sealing structure, which prevents dust from being whirled up when emptying – particularly practical for allergy sufferers and pet owners.

Starting up the MONSGA MR7 Pro

The initial setup of the MR7 PRO is pleasantly uncomplicated. Set up the suction station, position the guard plate, place the robot on the charging station – done. The robot charges first before it is ready for use. A smartphone with the Smart Life or Tuya app is required for the app connection. Both apps are free and available for iOS and Android. The set-up process via QR code scan usually takes less than five minutes.

Important: The home WLAN must run on 2.4 GHz, as a pure 5 GHz network is not supported. This could lead to minor setup problems for some users with modern dual-band routers. After the first start, the MR7 PRO immediately begins with LiDAR-supported mapping. Within a few minutes, it creates a detailed floor plan of the home, which it displays in the app as an editable map.

App control

The Smart Life / Tuya app is one of the most widely used smart home platforms in the world – and for good reason. The user interface is clear, response times are short and the range of functions for the MR7 PRO is impressive.
The app can be used to set up individual cleaning zones, draw virtual walls and no-go zones and create schedules for automatic cleaning. And that’s not all when it comes to setting options.

On top of that, you can choose between different cleaning modes. From “Eco” for quiet, energy-saving cleaning tours to “Max” for deep cleaning with maximum suction power, a lot is possible here. Spot cleaning, i.e. the targeted cleaning of a specific area, is also possible. Of course, the combination of suction and mopping mode in a single pass is particularly practical: the amount of water for the mop can be regulated in several stages in the app.

Those with sensitive floors can select a low setting; a higher setting is recommended for more stubborn stains. Integration with Alexa and Google Assistant works perfectly. Voice commands such as “Alexa, tell MONSGA to vacuum” work reliably. Feedback from the robot – such as when it has returned to the charging station or was unable to overcome an obstacle – appears promptly in the app as push notifications.

Navigation and obstacle detection

The use of LiDAR navigation clearly sets the MR7 PRO apart from other inexpensive entry-level models, which often only work according to the chaos principle. The LiDAR tower on the top of the robot records the surroundings in real time and creates a very detailed 2D map. Cleaning is then carried out in orderly, parallel paths – efficiently and completely. In practice, the MR7 PRO works its way calmly and methodically through rooms, largely avoiding duplicate paths and returning precisely to where it left off after an interruption (e.g. for recharging).

The ability to store up to five different floor plans is a clear advantage for apartment buildings or regularly remodeled rooms compared to devices that have to re-map each time they are used. When it comes to obstacle detection, the MR7 PRO relies primarily on its LiDAR sensors in combination with impact sensors on the front of the device. Of course, you can’t expect miracles from this system. In practice, collisions with obstacles occur quite often, but thanks to the bumper, no damage is caused.

It is therefore not surprising that flat obstacles are almost always overlooked by the MONSGA. That’s why you should tidy up the floor before every cleaning tour. Otherwise, things like charging cables could quickly get wrapped around the main brush or even be sucked in. However, the MONSGA was able to detect and avoid larger objects such as shoes or a coffee cup quite frequently in the test.

Occasionally – as with most robotic vacuum cleaners in this price range – very dark or shiny surfaces irritate the distance sensor for a short time, but this rarely leads to real problems. The MR7 PRO overcomes thresholds up to a height of around 2 cm without any problems. Carpets are detected and the robot automatically switches to Carpet Boost mode with maximum suction power when it passes over them.

Cleaning performance of the MONSGA MR7 Pro

This is where the MR7 PRO shines the most. Although the 8,000 Pa suction power is anything but record-breaking (the competition now offers 30,000 Pa and more – such as the MOVA P70 Pro Ultra), it is often sufficient for everyday use. The robot vacuums crumbs, dust, animal hair and fine sand from hard floors and short-pile carpets quite reliably. However, the comparatively weak suction power is noticeable on medium and long-pile carpets. In this price range, however, you simply can’t expect more. This also applies to the lack of an extendable side brush.

Although the side brush of the MONSGA can help to bring dirt closer to the main brush in everyday use, it cannot reach into corners. I really liked the solid rubber main brush. Long pet hair and human hair hardly get wrapped around the roller – a problem that regularly requires manual intervention with older or cheaper models. During the test period of several days, the roller only had to be briefly freed of individual tufts of hair from my long-haired cats once.

The automatic boost mode ensures that the suction power is automatically increased to maximum when switching to carpet. Embedded dirt and crumbs deep in carpet fibers are removed much more thoroughly than with appliances without this function. The mopping function is a practical goodie, but nothing more. As is usual in this price range, MONSGA relies on a rigid mopping plate that spreads the dirt rather than picking it up.

The mop cloth does not remove stubborn, dried-on stains due to insufficient friction. This requires rotating or vibrating wiping mechanisms, as found in premium appliances from 500 euros upwards – such as the Narwal Flow 2. However, it is certainly well suited for practical wiping after the vacuuming process. The 460 ml tank is a decent size for an appliance in this price range and enables large areas to be damp mopped in a single pass.

Suction station

The suction station of the MR7 PRO is one of the strongest arguments in favor of the appliance. After each cleaning, the robot automatically returns to the station and is emptied there automatically. The process only takes a few seconds, is acoustically tolerable thanks to the well-insulated station and leaves no clouds of dust behind thanks to the pull-out sealing structure of the 4-liter dust bag. Changing the bag itself is very simple: pull out the bag, the bag seals itself automatically, insert a new one – done.

According to the manufacturer, the dust bag can last up to 90 days before it needs to be replaced. The aforementioned Advanced Base Plate – the protective plate in front of the station – actually fulfilled both promised functions in the test: Docking is more reliable than with many competing devices, where the robot occasionally drives past the station or docks at an angle. In addition, the plate effectively ensures that no film of moisture remains on the parquet floor.

Conclusion on the MONSGA MR7 Pro

The MONSGA MR7 PRO is a respectable overall package that is particularly impressive given its low price. With 8,000 Pa suction power, LiDAR navigation, intelligent recharge-and-resume and a sophisticated suction station, it offers features that were only found in significantly more expensive devices a few years ago. Particularly impressive are the anti-tangling system for pet hair owners, the reliable LiDAR navigation with 5-map memory and the practical 90-day hands-free solution of the suction station. The innovative protective plate in front of the station is a small but fine detail that solves a real everyday problem. The wiping function is more of a goodie than a serious feature. All in all, the MR7 PRO is an excellent choice for anyone who wants to enter the world of robot vacuum cleaners without having to spend a fortune.
