Roborock has built up an excellent reputation in the vacuum and mopping robot segment in recent years. With the Qrevo S Pro, the Chinese manufacturer now wants to further expand the mid-price segment. The Qrevo S Pro is aimed at users who are looking for a fully automatic cleaning solution without having to dig too deep into their wallets. The most important upgrade compared to its predecessor is the revised base station: it now cleans the mops with hot water at up to 75 °C and then dries them with warm air at 45 °C – a function that is rarely found in this price range. It also has 18,500 Pa suction power, two rotating mop pads, an anti-tangle side brush and the tried-and-tested Roborock app. We tested the Roborock Qrevo S Pro in everyday use and want to show where it excels – and where it reaches its limits.

Design and workmanship of the Roborock Qrevo S Pro
The Qrevo S Pro has a timeless look. The round robot is available in either matt black or white, with a clever combination of high-gloss and matt surfaces. The result is elegant yet understated. The robot therefore fits easily into modern living spaces. The workmanship is decent for the price range: gaps are even and there are no cracks or creaks anywhere.
A tried-and-tested LiDAR sensor is hidden in a small tower on the top. We also find a small control unit here, which enables a quick start at the touch of a button and without a smartphone, for example. The Roborock also has a practical maintenance flap that can be used to access the internal dust container. The sensor unit for obstacle detection is located at the front.
Roborock does without a camera system and instead relies on Reactive Tech, which is based on structured light technology. In this price range, however, anything else would surprise us. On the underside there is a fully rubberized main brush with a spiral design that transports hair to the ends of the brush, making it easy to clean. The bright orange-red main brush is joined by a side brush, which unfortunately cannot be extended – a shame.
We can also see the two rotating mops here. The base station speaks the same design language as the robot. The fresh and dirty water tanks are located on the top and are easy to remove and carry even when full thanks to comfortable handles – a detail that is pleasantly noticeable in everyday use. The dust bag is concealed behind a front flap and can also be changed quickly.
Roborock has opted for a high-gloss look for the flap, which not only magically attracts fingerprints, dust and hair. On top of that, it is quite scratch-sensitive. I would have preferred the matt plastic of the rest of the base station and the robot hoover. The robot garage is located in the lower area, where the robot is freed from collected dust and its mops can be cleaned.
Setting up the Roborock Qrevo S Pro
The initial setup is straightforward. The base plate is plugged into the station, the mop pads are attached, the fresh water tank is filled and then both buttons on the robot are pressed simultaneously. A QR code under the housing cover leads directly to the Roborock app, which guides you through the rest of the set-up process step by step. This is followed by the maiden voyage. Here, the Robo creates a map of the home to be cleaned. The robot then completes the first mapping run fully automatically and pleasingly quickly. The final floor plan can then be viewed in the Roborock app and adjusted if necessary. Not only can room boundaries be changed, but flooring types can also be adapted as required.
Roborock app
The Roborock app is one of the most sophisticated of its kind. The interface is clearly structured: All rooms can be seen at a glance in the main menu, and the cleaning mode and water volume control can be adjusted with just a few taps. The option to save individual settings for each room is particularly practical – the robot always knows how to treat which zone. A new feature of the Qrevo S Pro is the extended SmartPlan 2.0: the AI function analyzes usage habits, room types and floor coverings and automatically adjusts the cleaning plan accordingly. There are now four levels for the mopping route – “Fast”, “Standard”, “Thorough” and the new “Thorough+” – in which the robot follows narrower paths at a reduced speed.
Restricted zones and virtual walls can be intuitively placed on the map at the tap of a finger. In general, the Roborock app scores again with numerous setting options. For example, you can create cleaning schedules that allow the robot to start its cleaning tour at desired times. You can also customize the way the base station works. Despite the many parameters, the app never feels overloaded. Newcomers will quickly find their way around and professionals can customize the smart household helper in detail. So it’s definitely worth taking a look at the app. The integration into smart home ecosystems is extensive: in addition to Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Siri Shortcuts, the Matter standard is also supported, although the latter will be delivered later via an OTA update.
Navigation and obstacle detection
The navigation of the Qrevo S Pro is based on a permanently installed LiDAR sensor that continuously maps the surroundings. As the tower is not retractable, the overall height of 9.65 cm is slightly higher than some competitors with retractable LiDAR – but you simply can’t expect more in this price range. If you are looking for an ultra-flat Roborock, you will have to spend considerably more and take a look at the Saros 10(test |€ 1,499.00 *) and Saros 10R(test |€ 799.00 *). In the test, the robot demonstrated remarkably confident navigation. It drove precisely into areas that were only a few millimeters wider than its housing and even searched for hard-to-reach corners from several sides.
It didn’t get stuck once in my home. But this doesn’t just apply to narrow areas. The Roborock also proved to be pleasantly courageous when driving under furniture. Furniture with a ground clearance of around 10 cm was bravely and purposefully traversed and cleaned – a behavior that not all LiDAR models exhibit. There are even significantly more expensive flagships on the market that are overly cautious in this discipline in order to avoid getting stuck. Obstacle detection works with structured light (reactive tech) and delivers satisfactory results in everyday use.
Objects such as shoes, cups and larger toys were reliably avoided, often with a surprisingly small minimum distance. Flat obstacles such as cables, on the other hand, are a real weak point: Without the corresponding sensor technology of higher-class models, the Qrevo S Pro occasionally ran over thinner cables in the test. An AI camera system such as the DJI Romo P(test |€ 923.95 *) is simply much better in this discipline. It is therefore advisable to mark areas with cables or other small objects as a restricted zone in the app. Incidentally, the Qrevo S Pro overcomes door thresholds of up to 2 cm without any problems – higher steps, such as those found in some old buildings, remain a hurdle.
Suction power of the Roborock Qrevo S Pro
On paper, the maximum suction power of 18,500 Pa sounds really strong for this price range. However, it is not just the value on the data sheet that is important, but the way in which the Robo can transfer the power to the floor. The practical test reveals a differentiated picture in this respect. The Qrevo S Pro performed convincingly on hard floors: oat flakes, rice and coffee beans were picked up quite reliably. Apart from a few minor residues, nothing was left behind. This is a very good result for the price range we are in here.
The situation is different on carpets. Here you could get the impression that the Roborock cannot transfer its power to the fibers. On very short-pile carpets, this may still be enough for quite decent results. On higher-pile carpets, however, noticeably more dirt residue was left behind than the high Pascal value would suggest. Pet hair also posed a challenge – if you have several pets, you should keep this point in mind.
Speaking of pet hair. The anti-tangle side brush on the Qrevo S Pro also deserves praise. The asymmetrical arc design worked really well in the test. As the hair picked up is reliably guided to the ends of the brush, it cannot get tangled up in the brush in the first place. This makes maintenance much easier. Of course, there are also weaknesses when cleaning corners. This is due to the non-extendable side brush. So you simply have to live with the fact that you have to rework corners by hand.
Mopping performance of the Roborock Qrevo S Pro
In terms of mopping performance, the Qrevo S Pro cuts a good figure for its price range – at least for everyday dirt. The two rotating mopping pads work at up to 200 revolutions per minute and apply a light pressure to the floor. In our test, fresh stains from coffee, juice or ketchup were removed reliably and without the need for reworking. However, the appliance clearly reaches its limits with more dried-on stains. It simply lacks features such as hot water cleaning or automatic detergent addition.
I would like to emphasize the detailed water quantity control. Roborock offers you a total of 30 adjustable levels, which allows a very fine dosage. The amount of water can be set individually for each room/area. I also think the new “Thorough+” mode is cool. Here, the Roborock works at a slower speed, which ensures better mopping results. This provides a noticeable improvement for normal everyday stains.
To prevent accidental moistening of carpet fibers, the Roborock can raise its mop pads by 10 mm. This may work well for short-pile carpets, but it is not enough for long-pile carpets. A mop tray in the base station would be much more effective here. Weaknesses in edge cleaning also continue when mopping. Just like the side brush, the mop cannot be extended. This inevitably leaves an uncleaned strip on skirting boards and furniture edges.
Base station
In my opinion, the base station is the highlight of the Qrevo S Pro, as it clearly sets it apart from cheaper but equally expensive competitors. After each cleaning job, the robot automatically returns to the base station, where a whole series of tasks are performed fully automatically. The dust container is emptied into the station’s 2.7 liter bag by suction. According to the manufacturer, this should last for up to 65 days without any manual intervention. According to SGS certification, the pollen filtration achieves an efficiency of 99.9 %.
One of the most important features is undoubtedly the hot water mop wash: the mop pads are cleaned in an internal wash tub with water heated up to 75 °C. This removes grease films and food residues much more effectively than with a cold water wash. This is of course particularly important for areas such as the kitchen and dining room. The pads are then dried with warm air at 45 °C, which reliably prevents the formation of mold and odors.
The drying process is pleasantly quiet at around 45 dB. The fresh water tank holds four liters, the dirty water tank 3.5 liters. There is no separate tank for detergent. This must be added manually to the fresh water. The wash tub itself should be rinsed out by hand from time to time – although this also applies to more expensive competitor models. Another practical feature is the 30 % faster charging function compared to its predecessor. This means that the Roborock is ready for use much faster.
Conclusion
The Roborock Qrevo S Pro is a successful update of the popular Qrevo series that confidently asserts its place in the mid-price segment. It plays its strongest card with its revised base station: the hot water mop wash at 75 °C combined with warm air drying is a real exception in this price range and raises the level of hygiene to a high level. The Qrevo S Pro cleans very convincingly on hard floors – both when vacuuming and mopping. The navigation is precise, the app is exemplary and the start-up is intuitive. All this makes it an attractive and well thought-out choice for households with predominantly hard floors.
Its weak points are particularly evident on higher carpets, with stubbornly dried dirt and in tight corners and edges, as neither the side brush nor the mop can extend. Obstacle detection also does not work reliably with smaller objects, which means some preparation before cleaning. The Qrevo S Pro is a very good choice for anyone who lives in an apartment with lots of hard floors, has no pets and values hygienically clean self-cleaning. The really great price-performance ratio is particularly impressive, making the Roborock Qrevo S Pro a good robot vacuum for budget-oriented customers who are looking for a solid model.
