With the i2 series, Segway Navimow has replaced its popular predecessor models, the i105 and i108. The flagship model of the new series, the Navimow i210 LiDAR Pro, does not require a boundary wire or an RTK antenna mast—instead, it relies on a triple navigation system consisting of a LiDAR laser scanner, Network RTK, and an AI camera. This is complemented by true all-wheel drive with three driven wheels. Priced at 1,399 euros, the device is clearly positioned in the premium segment for lawns up to 1,000 m². Our in-depth review reveals whether it also delivers premium performance.

Design and Workmanship

The Navimow i210 LiDAR Pro bears the unmistakable signature of the i-Series. It features a high-quality plastic housing in a color combination of light gray and anthracite. And of course, the characteristic orange all-terrain tires on the rear wheels are a must. Visually, the design is reminiscent of a compact electric car—clean lines, no protruding elements, and a striking LED ring on top serving as a light signature. Compared to the H2 series, such as the Navimow H206E (Review | € 1,497.00 *), the i210 appears simpler and more understated overall.

With dimensions of 655 × 445 × 290 mm and a weight of 17.35 kg, the i210 LiDAR Pro is noticeably larger and heavier than its predecessor—a difference you definitely notice when handling it. However, practical recessed handles still make it reasonably comfortable to carry. The build quality is top-notch: the gaps are precise, there are no creaks, and nothing wobbles. The charging station is compact and doesn’t require an RTK antenna mast—a clear installation advantage over previous generations.

On the top of the device is a 2.4-inch color LCD display with surprisingly good resolution, which clearly shows the most important status information even in direct sunlight. Below that are physical buttons for Start, Pause, Return Home, and menu navigation, as well as an easily accessible red emergency stop button.

The solid-state LiDAR module is mounted on the front, with the RGB camera module for obstacle and edge detection to its left. In a direct size comparison with other cordless robotic mowers—such as the Anthbot M9 (Review | € 599.00 *)—the Navimow appears significantly bulkier. Anyone looking for a robotic lawn mower for very narrow garden passages less than 65 cm wide should measure the space beforehand.

Installation and Commissioning

Setting up the i210 LiDAR Pro is one of the simpler processes in the robotic lawn mower segment. Since neither a boundary wire nor an RTK antenna needs to be installed, the physical setup is limited to positioning and securing the charging station with screws, as well as connecting the power adapter.

Navimow recommends leaving at least two meters of free space in front of the station and 50 cm on either side—you should check this before purchasing. After turning on the robot, the Navimow app guides you step by step through the initial setup. This includes Bluetooth pairing, Wi-Fi connection, device registration, and then a mandatory firmware update, which took about ten minutes in our test.

Overall, it takes about 20 to 25 minutes to get it up and running. There are two methods to choose from for mapping the yard. With automatic mapping, the robotic mower independently follows the edges of the lawn and creates a digital map based on this data—convenient, but with slightly less precision in complex edge areas. 

Manual mapping allows you to guide the robot precisely along the desired boundaries using a smartphone, just like a remote-controlled car, thereby achieving a more accurate result. This is particularly beneficial when millimeter-precise edges are required. In practice, both methods have worked well. However, if you want the highest possible edge accuracy, you’re definitely better off with the manual method.

After mapping, you can set up to 20 mowing zones in the app, as well as exclusion zones for flower beds, ponds, or areas on neighboring properties. Note: According to the manufacturer, connecting paths between zones must be at least 70 cm wide. In general, the subsequent map adjustment ensures that mapping errors can be corrected easily and conveniently.

The Navimow i210 LiDAR Pro is controlled via the Navimow app, which is available for iOS and Android. The user interface is clearly organized. On the home screen, you can see the battery level, the zone currently being mowed, and mowing progress as a percentage at a glance, along with the main buttons for stopping and returning to the home base.

The app offers a remarkable level of detail in its settings. You can create schedules by zone, adjust the cutting height at any time—even while mowing—and set a custom height for each area of the garden. There are three mowing modes to choose from—quiet, normal, and efficient mowing. This naturally results in corresponding differences in speed and noise level.

The detailed weather adjustment feature is particularly handy . For five different weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, frost, and strong winds), you can individually configure sensitivity levels and wait times before the robot resumes operation following a weather event. The app retrieves weather data via the OpenWeather service. What the app does not offer is a live camera feed while mowing. 

Even though this doesn’t really bother me personally, it’s become almost standard for robotic lawn mowers by now. Especially since the necessary camera technology is already built in. Setting the mowing direction is also a bit fiddly and can only be adjusted in small increments using a compass-like display. Support for Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Home Assistant is also worth mentioning. This enables convenient features such as voice control.

Navigation and Obstacle Detection

At the heart of the i210 LiDAR Pro is the so-called EFLS LiDAR+ system —a triple-system combination of solid-state LiDAR, Network-RTK satellite positioning, and AI-powered camera recognition. The solid-state LiDAR operates without any rotating mechanical parts and processes up to 200,000 data points per second with a scan interval of 50 milliseconds. According to the manufacturer, the range for object detection is up to 70 meters.

A key advantage over camera-only systems: LiDAR works regardless of lighting conditions—even in the dark, in the shade of dense trees, or under overcast skies. The supplementary wide-angle camera, with a 140° field of view, handles the visual classification of objects and assists with navigation through edge detection.

With Navimow, the Network RTK feature is included in the purchase price permanently and at no extra charge—the mobile data required for RTK communication is provided free of charge. However, after the first free year, a 4G subscription costing 29.90 euros per year is required for remote access while on the go and for GPS theft tracking.

In practical testing, the navigation system proved to be very reliable. The system actively uses detected edges—such as lawn borders, paths, or fences—as reference points and mows the area systematically in parallel paths, changing direction with each new pass. The accuracy along the edges is impressively high.

The obstacle detection system uses the VisionFence system and, according to the manufacturer, can recognize over 200 different types of objects. In practice, the robotic mower reliably responds to typical garden obstacles such as watering cans, children’s toys, garden furniture, or garden slippers and navigates around them without losing its mowing path. Pets are also detected and the mower gives them plenty of room. Smaller, flat objects like tennis balls, on the other hand, occasionally pose a challenge for the detection system—in these cases, detection isn’t 100% reliable.

To protect nocturnal small animals such as hedgehogs, it is recommended (as with all other robotic mowers) to disable nighttime operation in the app. The anti-theft protection is exceptionally well-implemented: In addition to a PIN lock and GPS tracking, an Apple AirTag is built into the device as standard, enabling integration into the “Find My” network. If the robotic mower is lifted or crosses a virtual boundary, a loud alarm sounds that can only be deactivated via PIN or the app.

Mowing Capacity

The i210 LiDAR Pro’s mowing mechanism features a centrally positioned cutting disc with six blades and a cutting width of 22 cm—four centimeters wider than its predecessor, the Navimow i105 (Review | Price not available *). The 100-watt motor drives the cutting mechanism. The cutting height can be adjusted via the app in 5-mm increments between 20 and 70 mm, even on a zone-by-zone basis and while the mower is in operation.

On the lawn, the i210 impresses with a uniform and clean cut. The mowing paths are narrow and run exactly parallel to one another, and the direction changes automatically from one pass to the next. Even with slightly taller grass, the cutting deck performs well and leaves the lawn looking well-manicured. The noise level during mowing is a maximum of 59 dB—a level that is perceived as pleasantly quiet in everyday use. For all-wheel drive, Navimow relies on the Xero-Turn AWD system.

All three wheels are driven, coordinated by electronic stability control (ESC) and traction control (TCS). The front wheel steers and drives at the same time, allowing the vehicle to turn in place. This not only ensures a small turning radius but also prevents ruts in the ground, which can often occur with three-wheeled models that have a fixed support wheel. On slopes and on wet or uneven surfaces, the all-wheel drive offers a noticeable advantage.

According to Navimow, gradients of up to 55% (29°) are possible. The only design-related weakness becomes apparent when cutting along edges. The centrally positioned cutting deck cannot be offset to the side, so a strip several centimeters wide remains uncut along lawn edges and flower bed borders. Models with an offset or movable cutting deck perform better in this regard.

The i210 LiDAR Pro’s edge-cutting performance is good for a mid-range device, but not top-notch. The 5.1 Ah battery provides about 65 to 75 minutes of mowing time in real-world use and covers an area of approximately 175 to 195 m² per charge. The subsequent charging time is about 90 minutes. When the battery returns to the charging station, the robot automatically resumes mowing where it left off once fully charged. The manufacturer specifies the daily coverage area as up to 1,700 m².

Conclusion

The Segway Navimow i210 LiDAR Pro is a technically advanced robotic lawn mower that performs impressively in most areas. The Triple Fusion navigation system—combining LiDAR, Network-RTK, and a camera—operates with precision and stability, even under trees, in changing light conditions, and in gardens with complex layouts. The Xero-Turn AWD drive system with three driven wheels offers real added value in practice. This not only allows it to handle slopes of up to 55%, but also enables it to turn on a dime without damaging the lawn and provides good traction even on wet surfaces. Setup—which requires no boundary wire or RTK antenna—is pleasantly straightforward, and the Navimow app also impresses with its clarity and impressive level of customization. The standard Apple AirTag theft protection and official Home Assistant integration are further pluses.

Weaknesses become apparent when cutting along edges, which is limited by the mower deck’s fixed central position. Anyone with narrow garden pathways should also keep in mind its fairly wide body. This could become an issue. The MSRP of a hefty 1,399 euros is also worth mentioning. For gardens up to 1,000 m² with slopes, shaded areas, or if you’re looking for a durable, high-tech all-rounder, the Navimow i210 LiDAR Pro is nonetheless a highly recommended choice. On the other hand, those who prioritize precise edge cutting or a lower purchase price should carefully compare the alternatives on the market.
