Back in July, I took a closer look at the mobile 1080p projector Yaber T2 Plus as part of a test report, which was thoroughly convincing apart from the hacky interface. The Plus model includes a Google TV dongle, which makes the projector smart and adds numerous apps. However, if you already have a dongle at home and don’t need it, you can save some money with the Yaber T2. Because apart from the missing dongle, both devices are identical. You can get the dongle seperately in the manufacutrer’s Amazon shop.

Yaber T2 test: Elegant design, high-quality workmanship
- harmonious design
- Pleasantly light and handy
- Impeccable workmanship
To be honest, the Yaber T2 is exactly the same portable projector as the T2 Plus. I could write everything again here, but I recommend you read my test report on the Yaber T2 Plus, in which I went into all aspects in detail.
To summarize briefly: The T2 also scores with a classy design and high-quality workmanship and makes quite an impression visually. It is 165 mm x 140 mm x 290 mm in size and, with a weight of 2.5 kg, is pleasantly handy. The practical handle is of course also integrated to move the projector quickly from A to B.
This makes the projector ideal for outdoor use, although it should be kept dry due to its lack of water resistance.
Connections, operation and practice
- Few connections
- reliable, but somewhat slow autofocus
- Precise remote control
In terms of connections, only HDMI and USB-A are available, audio can be realized – apart from the integrated speakers – via a 3.5 mm jack connection. There is also an RJ45 LAN, but you can also play content via Wi-Fi 6. Bluetooth 5.0 is also available if you want to pair the projector with speakers or a smartphone.
Yaber integrates two speakers with tuning from JBL, which offer a decent sound and can be used for a movie night. If you want to get more out of it, you can of course use a Bluetooth speaker.
Operation using the remote control works flawlessly and reliably. In contrast to our test model of the T2 Plus, the required batteries are even included. The projector offers intelligent automatic image adjustment including autofocus and object avoidance, which work quite reliably but could be faster. Only the keystone correction could work a little more precisely, but this can be adjusted manually.
As the T2 does not have the Google TV dongle of the Plus model, the HDMI connection remains free for your own use. This is of course practical if you own a TV stick that you can operate on the projector without any problems. Corresponding solutions from Amazon, Google and others can be retrofitted very cheaply.
The T2 also has an integrated rechargeable battery that provides a runtime of 2.5 hours at 60 percent brightness. That’s enough power to get through even longer movies. For the Lord of the Rings trilogy or Marvel films, however, you will need to connect the power cable.
Operation in the tidy user interface is also a little choppy. Noticeably jerkier than other models in this price range. On the other hand, the Yaber T2 can also be used as a Bluetooth speaker and has a very good battery life of 18 hours.
Picture quality of the Yaber T2
Unsurprisingly, the picture quality of the Yaber T2 is identical to that of the T2 Plus. And it was already convincing in the test at the time. It achieves a maximum brightness of 450 ANSI lumens, which is a very good value in this price range.
This results in a colorful and detailed picture in Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, although it lacks a little sharpness on closer inspection. The picture can be further adjusted in the system settings. The menu is available in German and has a clear structure.
“In terms of size, the distance to the wall or surface is of course decisive; with a projection ratio of 1.25:1, the projector can achieve sizes from 40 inches from a distance of around one meter up to a maximum of 120 inches, for which it requires a distance of around 3.3 meters,” to quote myself. Basically, the picture quality on offer is really impressive considering the price.
Yaber T2 test: Conclusion
Like the T2 Plus, the Yaber T2 is a thoroughly convincing and pleasantly handy 1080p projector, which is also suitable for garden parties and the like thanks to its integrated rechargeable battery.
It offers good picture quality with harmonious colors and good contrasts, as well as decent sound via the integrated speakers. However, the intelligent image adjustment only works moderately and the operating system should respond a little faster.
However, the T2 does without the TV dongle that comes with the Plus model. This saves you money if you already have a suitable solution at home. However, the projector is not smart – so if you want to use streaming apps and other services, you won’t get very far without a dongle.
The good image quality, integrated battery and handy design make the Yaber T2 an interesting choice for traveling or other outdoor activities.

Handy 1080p projector with good picture quality and built-in battery with good runtime, but with some weaknesses in terms of picture, sound and picture adjustment. The TV stick for smart functions is also missing.
