YEEDI S20 Infinity test: design and workmanship

The YEEDI S20 Infinity has a diameter of around 35 cm. Despite the lack of a LiDAR tower, the overall height is just under 10 cm. This may not be very flat, but in our test it was still flat enough to work under sofas or cupboards in most cases. The housing is black, with a copper-colored control button on the top as a visual accent.

The whole thing clearly reminds me of other YEEDI models such as the YEEDI S14 Plus (Review). Under the magnetically held maintenance flap on the top, you have access to the on/off slide switch, the WiFi button and the QR code that you use to pair the robot with the app. The technology for obstacle detection is located on the front of the S20.

This consists of an LED and AIVI camera unit. At the back, in addition to the charging contacts, there is also the tank nozzle, which is used to fill the internal water tank. A look at the underside is exciting. This is where the main brush is located, which is equipped with special anti-tangling technology. This is designed to prevent pet hair from getting tangled up.

The mopping unit has neither a mopping plate like the Roborock Saros 10 (Review | € 799.00 *), nor rotating mopping pads like a Dreame X50 Ultra (Review | € 888.00 *). Instead, the YEEDI S20 relies on a special mopping roller that is 17.5 cm wide and rotates at 200 revolutions per minute.

The roller can be raised by 1 cm as soon as the smart household helper switches to pure suction mode. Looking from the side, you can already see that the roller can be extended. This is reminiscent of other models such as the Narwal Flow (Review | € 1,299.00 *) and is designed to make cleaning around edges, skirting boards and furniture edges easier.

The rubber wheels in the area of the robot vacuum’s normal wheels, which are reminiscent of small claws, are also striking. The robot should be able to use these to overcome door thresholds and carpet edges more easily. In the robot hoover itself, the fresh and dirty water tanks are separated. This should ensure that the roller is always used with fresh water.

YEEDI S20 Infinity test: Bagless station

The multifunctional station of the YEEDI S20 Infinity is not only visually reminiscent of the ECOVACS Deebot X11 OmniCyclone (Review | € 936.14 *). They are also like two peas in a pod when it comes to features. The station takes on several tasks at once: it charges the robot, automatically refills the fresh water tank, empties the dirty water, cleans and dries the mop and vacuums out the dust container at the same time.

The YEEDI S20 also relies on a bagless system. This means no follow-up costs for the user, which is anything but common. After all, pretty much every suction and AiO station relies on dust bags, which usually have to be replaced every two to three months. The dust container in the S20 has a volume of 1.6 liters, which, according to the manufacturer, should provide enough space for just over a month of vacuuming.

The station also has two water tanks. These have a capacity of 3.2 liters for fresh water and 2.7 liters for the collected dirty water. For a medium-sized household, this should easily be enough for three to four complete cleaning cycles, depending on the degree of soiling. Visually, the station has a modern, understated design that perfectly matches the robot.

The predominantly dark color scheme looks elegant and blends discreetly into various living environments. Rounded edges and clean lines prevent a clunky impression, so that the station appears comparatively unobtrusive despite its variety of functions. The workmanship also makes a solid impression.

Two different cleaning agents can be added

The surfaces are smooth and easy to clean, gaps are even, and all flaps and compartments close reliably. The integration of the cyclonic suction system, which empties the robot’s dust container without additional dust bags, shows that YEEDI not only pays attention to sustainability, but also to cost savings for the user. Overall, the station makes a high-quality impression both visually and haptically.

YEEDI S20 Infinity test: Navigation and obstacle detection

The YEEDI S20 Infinity relies on a combination of modern sensor technology and intelligent software for navigation. At its heart is a Direct Time-of-Flight (D-ToF) laser module that uses light pulses to create a precise 3D depth map of the surroundings. This enables mapping without a LiDAR tower, which of course saves height. However, flagships such as the MOVA V50 Pro Ultra (Review | € 849.00 *) prove that a robot vacuum can also be small with a LiDAR tower. This is made possible by a retractable laser turret.

In recent years, there has been no alternative to LiDAR when it comes to reliable navigation for robot vacuums. However, models such as the Roborock Saros 10R (Review | € 899.00 *) prove that reliable navigation and precise mapping are now also possible without a LiDAR tower. And the YEEDI was also able to convince me here. The S20 drives smoothly and moves confidently even in complex environments such as bottlenecks.

The laser module works together with a TrueDetect 3D sensor. This measures the return times of the light signals and creates an exact image of your home. The result is quite impressive, but in my opinion is not on a par with current flagships with LiDAR towers. For most users, however, it should be perfectly adequate.

There is also a 3D view of the map. Apart from carpeting and inaccessible areas, the map does not show any special features

This system is supplemented by AIVI technology, which is used for obstacle detection and gives the robot a kind of “learning ability”. Each time it cleans, it collects information about typical obstacles in the household – such as cables, shoes or toys – and can identify and avoid them more quickly in future journeys.

This not only ensures greater efficiency, but also fewer interruptions during the cleaning process. Thanks to the built-in LED, obstacle detection also works in poor lighting conditions. Thanks to the combination of laser technology, 3D sensors and adaptive software, it provides very reliable and modern navigation behavior overall.

YEEDI S20 Infinity test: quick set-up

Setting up the YEEDI S20 Infinity is pleasantly uncomplicated. First, the station is set up in the desired location and connected to the power supply. Then fill the fresh water tank. Then just take a quick look under the cover of the robot, where the dust container, main switch and Wi-Fi connection button are located.

The connection with the app runs smoothly: The robot is recognized directly by scanning the printed QR code under the maintenance flap, after which only the WLAN data needs to be entered. The device is connected and ready for use within a few minutes.

If the battery level is sufficient on delivery, mapping can be started directly. The entire process is well thought out, self-explanatory and easy to master, even for beginners with no prior technical knowledge. The S20 Infinity makes a user-friendly impression right from the set-up stage, and this continues during subsequent operation.

YEEDI S20 Infinity test: Practical test

In everyday use, the YEEDI S20 Infinity impresses with its powerful suction power of up to 19,500 Pa, which can be regulated in four stages, as well as its precise navigation. After charging, the robot mapped all rooms within a few minutes and started cleaning in “AI Intelligent Hosting” mode, which automatically adjusts the suction power and water supply.

The extendable mopping roller unfortunately leaves a small uncleaned edge

The low noise level in standard mode is particularly positive, while the OZMO roller mop reliably removes even stubborn dirt. The roller mop unit automatically runs along edges and furniture edges, but leaves a small, uncleaned residue behind. The picture was similar when cleaning corners.

Obstacles such as high door thresholds are mastered with ease thanks to the extendable climbing levers, and a quick-charging function is used during automatic mop cleaning in the station to provide new energy. Depending on the cleaning options selected, a whopping 254 minutes of cleaning in one go should be possible. In a more demanding practical test on wooden and tiled floors and carpets, the robot also removed stubborn dirt such as oatmeal and cat litter.

yeedi s20 infinity test

Only a small amount of the particularly fine limescale from the cat litter remained on the carpet, which was to be expected due to the nature of the carpet. Apart from that, however, the end result was impressive. In terms of suction power, it leaves a good to very good impression. I also like its mopping performance – if only it weren’t for the minor problems in the edge and corner areas.

Conclusion

The YEEDI S20 Infinity leaves a positive overall impression in the test. Particularly noteworthy is the innovative OZMO roller mopping technology, which cleans floors noticeably more thoroughly than conventional systems with rotating pads. The suction power is also impressive and also pays off on carpeted floors. The multifunctional station also comes into its own for large living areas: During mop cleaning, the robot automatically recharges, so that longer cleaning cycles are possible without any problems.

yeedi s20 infinity test

Another real highlight is the integrated cyclone vacuum cleaner, which does not require a dust bag and therefore saves costs and makes maintenance easier. There were only minor problems with the mopping function in the edge and corner areas. All in all, the YEEDI S20 Infinity combines good cleaning performance, sophisticated technology and convenient handling. If you are looking for a reliable vacuum and mopping robot with modern features, this is definitely an exciting model.
