Andaseat T-PRO 2 in test: What can the gaming chair from Canada do?

Gaming chairs are becoming an increasingly popular piece of seating furniture. This is not least due to the fact that they can not only be used for gaming, but also for the home office. With the T-Pro 2 from AndaSeat, we want to take a closer look at a somewhat lesser-known representative of the favor today.

At the same time, the manufacturer promises not only a chic look and high-quality workmanship. On top of that, the chair is supposed to score with extensive features and a lot of comfort. Whether the gaming chair for 400 euros is a real insider tip or you should rather reach for a piece of furniture from a better-known manufacturer, you can read in our review.

Scope of delivery & assembly

If you open the bulky cardboard box in which the T-Pro 2 is delivered, you will find everything you need for the assembly. In addition to the various elements of the gaming chair, there’s also the matching tool right here. You can safely leave your toolbox in the basement. The beginning is the base.

Here you don’t just mount the five casters that are supposed to help the chair move. In addition, you mount the tube that connects the seat with the base and serves to adjust the height. The next step is to attach the armrests and the backrest to the seat.

Now the chair is already suitable for sitting, but for the look you still attach the cover strips. In order to ensure a tailor-made seating comfort later on, you then attach the adjustment base. Once this is done, you can finally connect the seat to the base.

For the test, we had the model in the color Black & Grey.

Who wants, can now still mount the enclosed lordosis or neck pillows. All in all, the assembly was relatively quick and easy. As a lone warrior, it took me less than 30 minutes to screw the chair together.

Design & Workmanship

Visually, the T-Pro 2 is also immediately recognizable as a gaming chair. After all, it too relies on the classic racing design that we know from many models from other manufacturers. Similar to Recaro, this is no coincidence with AndaSeat. After all, the Canadian company also used to manufacture primarily racing car seats.

In 2016, however, the Canadians decided to manufacture mainly gaming chairs from then on. The expertise already sounds promising. But is that also reflected when you take a closer look? The T-Pro 2 is clearly a premium gaming chair.

The embroidered logo looks and feels very classy

Especially friends of a not too exaggerated and playful look should definitely like the piece of furniture. Thus, the gaming chair also fits into a classic office environment without any problems. On the other hand, if you want to make your chair the focal point of the gaming area, you should go for a more fancy model.

The workmanship is on a very high level. Here you notice right away that you are not in the low-budget segment, but have a premium chair in front of you. Only in the cover strips, which should primarily provide a chic look, AndaSeat could have offered a little more in view of an MSRP of just under 500 euros. So they can’t really hide their plastic look even when attached.

The seat comfort

Optics or not. In the end, the most important thing is the seating comfort of a chair. And what can I say. When I first settled down, I didn’t want to get up again so quickly. Even without custom adjustments, I quickly noticed that the T-Pro 2 was incredibly comfortable. Then, once you let your hands wander over the seating surfaces, you notice the high-quality fabric that AndaSeat has covered the seat and back surfaces with. This should prevent a sweaty back very well even in the hot summer.

Unfortunately, the plastic side covers don’t quite fit in with the otherwise high-quality image.

But as with so many things, seat comfort is certainly a rather subjective matter. AndaSeat relies on a very soft upholstery for its T-Pro 2. This might even be too soft for some people. Especially people with a high weight should be aware that they might sink into the soft upholstery. We strongly advise you to try it out.

The seat is wonderfully soft

Also a matter of taste is certainly the thick padding on the sides of the seat. If you’re more of a fidgety gamer who likes to slide back and forth, you’ll have to get used to the somewhat cramped feeling first. It also makes it more difficult to cross your legs or sit cross-legged. However, it didn’t bother me personally at any point. Quite the opposite. I found it quite comfortable as you automatically adopt a healthier sitting position.

Nothing for small people

Anyone shorter than 1.80 m should definitely test the T-Pro 2 first before striking. The reason for this is the comparatively high neck cushion of the gaming chair. This should not be at neck height for people of short stature, but rather at the level of the back of the head. Unfortunately, the height of the neck cushion cannot be adjusted. Those who can do without neck pillows shouldn’t have a problem with this. But do you really want to compromise in view of the high price?

Unfortunately, you can’t change the height of the neck pillow

In this case, we’d rather advise you to go for a model that is also suitable for smaller body sizes. Speaking of physical requirements. AndaSeat specifies a maximum weight of 150 kg for its T-Pro 2. Given the overall stable impression, I’m happy to believe that. While you attach the neck pillow around the headrest, AndaSeat doesn’t attach the lumbar support at all. This is simply to be kept in position by the weight of the sitter.

The lumbar support is very comfortable.

Even though I was a bit skeptical at first, this worked fine in practice. Here, the cushion behind the disc hardly slipped. However, since testing the Backforce One Plus, I prefer not to use separate cushions anyway and would always opt for an ergonomic chair shape with integrated solutions instead. That’s a matter of taste, though. Both cushions impress with plenty of comfort thanks to their memory foam. Thus, not only your neck, but also your lumbar spine is optimally supported while working or gaming – assuming an appropriate body size.

Comprehensive Features

In recent years, so much has happened in the field of gaming chairs. The latest achievements include, for example, so-called 4D armrests. So it’s hardly surprising that AndaSeat also relies on the latest armrest technology for its premium model.

Given the maximum 160-degree tilt angle, napping is no problem.

As the name suggests, you can adjust the armrests here both vertically and horizontally in a total of four directions. Of course, the seating comfort described above can quickly invite you to take a little power nap. Thanks to the tilt of up to 160 degrees, this is no problem. The smallest angle is 90 degrees.

Of course, the AndaSeat T-Pro 2 also has a practical rocking function. You can adjust the resistance to your liking via a handy dial. I personally found this very convenient in practice.

However, I had a bit of a shock moment when I leaned back for the first time. Because the resistance was too low, I unintentionally flipped the chair from a sitting to a lying position in a flash. Once adjusted, however, this was no longer a problem.

Conclusion

No matter whether home office, gaming or office. With the AndaSeat T-Pro 2, you get the right chair for almost every scenario. First of all, this is due to its visual adaptability. Since it doesn’t come across as garish as many other models from the competition, it blends in pleasantly unobtrusively in any setting. However, not only the design, but also the workmanship is pleasing. Apart from a few unsightly plastic elements, the T-Pro 2 scores with high-quality elements throughout. Above all, the fabric cover used by Canadians is first class. You really don’t have to fear a sweaty back due to high temperatures or heated multiplayer battles.

We also really like the seating comfort – if the physical conditions are right. So you should not only stick to the maximum weight that AndaSeat specifies. Your height should also fit the chair. If you’re too short, you won’t be able to enjoy the extremely comfortable neck cushion. But even otherwise, the chair is a monster and suitable for tall people. For smaller people, AndaSeat has the Compact series ready.

The lordosis cushion also knows how to please thanks to its soft memory foam. The whole thing is rounded off by practical features such as 4D armrests and an expansive rocker function. The AndaSeat T-Pro 2 is a real surprise hit that scores not only with a chic design, but also a high level of seating comfort and a wide range of features.
