In 2019, the manufacturer Glorious (at the time still under the long name Glorious PC Gaming Race) released the Model O, a convincing gaming mouse with an iconic honeycomb pattern, an affordable price and a low weight of just 68 grams at the time. Now there is a new edition that aims to win over all gamers looking for a powerful and precise gaming mouse at an attractive price. The rodent is called the Glorious Model O Eternal and costs just around 35 euros. Our test clarifies whether it is worth buying.

Glorious Model O Eternal Review: familiar look, lighter build
- 55 grams
- Pleasant feel, symmetrical design
- honeycomb pattern
Anyone who likes open gaming nagers with a honeycomb look will be delighted. The new Glorious Model O Eternal takes up the iconic and airy design of the original, which is now around six years old, but reduces the weight by a whopping 20 percent in direct comparison.
At just 55 grams, the “eternal” new edition is undoubtedly one of the best lightweight rodents and is also noticeably lighter than most competitors in the price range below 50 euros.
The Model O Eternal is a wired gaming mouse with a symmetrical shape, which is available in either black or white. Unfortunately, there is no fabric-covered cable – this was still the case with the original. The mouse is connected via USB-A, and the cable is also sufficiently long at two meters.
With a length of 128.2 mm, a maximum width of 67.2 mm and a height of around 39 mm, the mouse is suitable for both small and medium-sized hands as well as all conceivable grip types.
Glorious has given the new model a total of six freely programmable buttons. Two of these are located on the left-hand side of the mouse and are easily accessible and pleasantly large. The Model O Eternal is therefore primarily aimed at right-handers, although left-handers can also play very well with the rodent thanks to its symmetrical shape.
The honeycomb pattern on the new model extends across the lower back and underside of the mouse. Compared to the original, the two primary buttons now come without a perforated look. Instead, there is extremely appealing RGB lighting, which extends over one strip on each side of the rodent. Thanks to the airy look, the light shines through the interior and shines slightly onto the mouse pad.
The features of the Glorious Model O Eternal
- Durable, mechanical switches
- 6 programmable buttons
- 12,000 DPI, 300 IPS, 35G
The features of the Glorious Model O Eternal have been noticeably modernized. The manufacturer now relies on particularly durable mechanical switches for the two primary switches, which are designed for 80 million clicks.
That is four times as many as the Model O and an absolute top level. Even much more expensive rodents such as the ASUS ROG Harpe Ace Extreme (our test) offer only marginally more with a lifespan of 100 million clicks.
This is combined with two additional wedge-shaped side buttons and a pleasantly grippy, but somewhat too smooth-running clickable mouse wheel. Below this, you will find another button that allows you to set the resolution in DPI in a total of four levels.
As with the original, you can also use various key combinations to adjust the RGB lighting, adjust the lighting effects or increase or decrease the brightness.
There have also been improvements to the sensor. Glorious has opted for the PixArt 3311 optical sensor. The maximum resolution of 12,000 DPI is absolutely sufficient for the price range. Adjustments are possible from a minimum value of 50 DPI in steps of 100.
Mouse speed and acceleration in particular have been improved. These now increase to 300 IPS and 35G mouse acceleration respectively. That’s decent, but nothing special. The ability to store up to three individual profiles on the onboard memory is also commendable.
In addition, unlike its predecessor, the new Glorious Model O Eternal can be customized using the manufacturer’s Glorious Core software.
Sensor and practical test
- Precise sensor
- average LOD
While the features of the Glorious Model O Eternal should satisfy even the most demanding gamers, it’s important to keep things simple. After all, the manufacturer itself places the rodent in the entry-level segment.
With a polling rate of 1,000 Hz, the mouse allows precise swipes and, with up to 12,000 DPI, delivers sufficient performance for those who like it faster. Unfortunately, the lift-off distance (LOD) has been slightly reduced compared to the original. This is now a fixed 2 mm, compared to 1 mm for the predecessor.
However, I didn’t notice much of this in practical tests in games such as The Finals, Fortnite or VALORANT. However, I myself am far from entering professional territory. What I can say, however, is that the Model O Eternal implemented my mouse movements very precisely and quickly. The sensor works extremely reliably and leaves little to be desired in terms of performance.
App connection: Glorious Core
Unlike its predecessor, the Glorious Model O Eternal can be integrated into the Glorious Core app, which can be used to customize the manufacturer’s peripherals. This is extremely practical if you use several Glorious products. Especially as the software has a tidy interface.
You can create three different profiles within the app, which can then also be stored on the mouse’s internal memory. In the “Settings” section, you can adjust the polling rate and debounce time. You can also customize the RGB lighting and adjust not only the brightness but also the speed of the effects.
Under the “DPI” tab, you can also adjust the DPI levels individually and – very commendably – create your own additional levels and assign colors to them, which can then be activated by pressing a button on the mouse. In the “Key mapping” section, you can then freely reconfigure all the mouse buttons and, for example, play macros, execute keyboard commands, open shortcuts and much more.
Glorious Model O Eternal Review: Conclusion
Anyone who is looking for a powerful, ergonomic and precise gaming mouse, but doesn’t want to spend a lot of money, will be well served by the Glorious Model O Eternal. The rodent scores with a pleasantly low weight and excellent ergonomics, which supports all grip types for right-handers.
In terms of performance, the Model O Eternal leaves little to be desired, although the maximum specs of 12,000 DPI, 350 IPS and 35G mouse acceleration will of course not appeal to enthusiasts – but that is not the mouse’s target group. Most gamers looking for a wired gaming mouse will be very well served here, as the price-performance ratio leaves little to be desired.
- Pleasantly light
- appealing RGB lighting
- Precise sensor
- strong price-performance ratio
- Cable not fabric-covered
- Lift-off distance only average
- Hardly any unique selling points
