Glorious Model O3 Wireless / D3 Wireless Test: High-quality gaming mice

  • symmetrical or ergonomic
  • A design that takes some getting used to, but…
  • … excellent workmanship

The Glorious Model O3 Wireless and Model D3 Wireless continue the high-quality design heritage of their predecessors. The Model O3 Wireless is a symmetrical, right-handed mouse with a slim, minimalist design, while the Model D3 Wireless offers a shape ergonomically adapted to the right hand, which is particularly comfortable to hold during longer sessions.

Glorious Model O3 Wireless / Model D3 Wireless
Symmetrical (O3 Wireless) or ergonomic (D3 Wireless)?

Despite their wireless technology, both mice are pleasantly light: the O3 weighs 66 grams and the D3 69 grams – very competitive weights for wireless mice in this category. However, the design is undoubtedly a matter of taste. I find the O3 Wireless model in particular not quite as pretty, partly due to the interrupted frame for the RGB lighting. But opinions are undoubtedly divided here.

The finish is of extremely high quality throughout. The casing has a matt, smooth plastic surface that looks simple but modern. The three main buttons and the mouse wheel feel robust, while the scroll wheel is well structured and offers clean, crisp steps. There is a switch on the underside to turn it on and off, as well as the mechanism to remove the hot-swap batteries at the back. These are easily accessible and can be changed quickly.

The mice offer RGB lighting, which is discreetly integrated. A small visual insight into the hot-swap battery compartment is provided by a transparent window opening on the underside. It looks quite stylish, but offers no real added value. Overall, both models demonstrate a successful balance of lightweight construction, comfortable ergonomics (especially in the case of the D3) and a well thought-out wireless structure without appearing wobbly or rickety.

Top features and infinite battery life

  • ingenious InfinitePlay system
  • two batteries + Guardien Battery
  • Wireless, Bluetooth and wired

The most important feature of both mice is the so-called InfinitePlay system with hot-swap batteries. Each mouse is supplied with two battery packs, which can be quickly replaced at any time during play. In addition, the mouse has an integrated “Guardian” battery that maintains its function for up to 10 hours if no battery pack is inserted. This ensures virtually uninterrupted gaming without losing the connection – an innovative concept that is particularly interesting for long gaming marathons or competitions.

We are already familiar with this system in this form from SteelSeries gaming headsets. The current top model SteelSeries Arctis Nova Elite (our test) relies on a comparable concept, although the Guardian battery counterpart only lasts for 8 seconds without losing the connection.

The battery life of each individual battery is also extremely impressive: according to the manufacturer, the batteries last up to 71 hours in 2.4 GHz mode and even up to 130 hours in Bluetooth mode. The supplied charging dock not only serves as a charging station for the spare batteries, but also functions as a mouse dock for the PC with additional functions via USB-A, as the button on it can be freely assigned. The LED indicators on the dock are practical and show the battery charge status.

Technically, the wireless transmission is based on an 8,000 Hz polling rate dongle with ultra-low latency, Bluetooth is also supported for multi-device functionality. Both mice have the in-house, very precise BAMF 3.0 optical sensor with up to 30,000 DPI.

The mouse buttons use particularly durable optical switches that are designed for 130 million clicks and respond precisely to inputs. A total of six freely assignable buttons are also provided, allowing numerous additional functions to be implemented.

Glorious Model O3 Wireless / Model D3

The Glorious Model O3 Wireless / D3 Wireless therefore offer extensive and ultra-modern features that will delight even the most demanding gamers.

App connection: Glorious Core

The Glorious CORE software is the control center for fine-tuning the mice. It can be used to configure DPI levels and polling rates, assign buttons as required and set lighting effects.

The three programmable profiles can be saved, allowing customizations to be quickly loaded depending on the game or preference.

The software is currently only available for Windows, but supports many customizations intuitively and offers a clear user interface. Particularly practical: Switching between DPI and polling rate as well as adjusting the RGB lighting works both via the software and via the dedicated buttons on the top of the mouse, which enables quick adjustments even in the middle of a game and makes the use of Glorious Core optional.

Glorious Model O3 Wireless / D3 Wireless in a practical test

  • fast, precise sensor
  • convincing gaming performance
  • Scroll wheel only average

The practical test of the Glorious Model O3 Wireless and Model D3 Wireless shows that both mice are fully convincing in everyday use. The innovative InfinitePlay system with hot-swappable batteries, which ensures almost uninterrupted use without charging breaks, proves particularly useful in practice.

Glorious Model O3 Wireless / Model D3

Both mice feel very good to handle: The Model O3 impresses with its symmetrical design, which is particularly comfortable for claw and fingertip grip gamers. Its light and flat design enables fast, precise aiming without fatigue, ideal for fast FPS games. The Model D3 Wireless, on the other hand, offers an ergonomically shaped body that appeals especially to users with larger hands and makes longer playing times comfortable. Despite the additional battery, you hardly notice any difference in balance or weight when playing. The almost 66 to 69 grams do not make them the lightest rodents, but they are still surprisingly light for wireless gaming mice.

The sensor performance with the BAMF 3.0 Optical Sensor shows high precision and speed in practice, perfect for competitive gaming. The mouse buttons respond very directly and enable fast and accurate inputs.

Only the scroll wheel could have been better in my opinion. I find the resistance when turning it a little too high, while the click-stop is also a little too smooth and therefore lacks precision. The PTFE glide feet ensure smooth, low-friction movement on a variety of mouse pads.

The only minor point of criticism is the wireless connection, which can exhibit slightly fluctuating tracking consistency under certain conditions. However, this is hardly an issue in everyday gaming, as there are no noticeable tracking dropouts or lags. The additional features such as RGB lighting and extensive software settings complement the user experience and allow individual adjustments to the mouse control.

Glorious Model O3 Wireless / Model D3

Ultimately, both the Model O3 and the Model D3 Wireless are clear recommendations for ambitious gamers who want to play as flexibly and without interruption as possible thanks to their sophisticated battery replacement system, convincing ergonomics and precise control.

Glorious Model O3 Wireless / D3 Wireless Review: Conclusion

With the Glorious Model O3 Wireless and Model D3 Wireless, the manufacturer delivers two very good wireless gaming mice, which score points with their innovative battery replacement system in addition to their cutting-edge features and lightning-fast sensor.

The latter in particular is a genuine innovation. At least in the field of gaming mice. And proves to be extremely useful in practice. Gaming for 70 hours and, thanks to Guardian Battery, changing the battery without any interruptions while the second battery is being recharged at the same time? It’s a bit like a wired mouse – but with wireless freedom.

Well, you have to put up with the larger mouse dock. But I don’t find that really annoying. What I don’t like so much are three points in particular: On the one hand, purely subjectively, I find the design of the rodents to be… let’s call it “takes some getting used to”. I don’t really like it. On the other hand, the RGB lighting shows the colors quite blotchy. And then there’s the scroll wheel, which has too much resistance and too little rasterization to perform precisely.

But apart from that, the Glorious Model O3 Wireless and Model D3 Wireless are really successful gaming mice that live up to their high price.
