LC-Power LC-M27QO Review: White QD-OLED Gaming Monitor with 240 Hz and 0.03 ms

White gaming hardware is no longer just a niche trend, and LC-Power is jumping right into the fray with the LC-M27QO, unveiled in May. The 26.5-inch QD-OLED monitor combines WQHD resolution with a 240 Hz refresh rate and a response time of 0.03 milliseconds. On paper, these are specs typically found in much more expensive models. We put the LC-Power LC-M27QO’s panel, features, and real-world performance to the test and will tell you who this monitor is best suited for.

LC-Power LC-M27QO Review: Design and Build Quality

Right from the moment you unbox it, the LC-M27QO makes it clear what LC-Power is aiming for: a minimalist, modern aesthetic instead of an aggressive gaming look. The case is finished entirely in a clean, unadorned white and is complemented by dark gray accents and a subtle LED ring on the back. Anyone expecting rainbow-colored RGB lighting will be deliberately disappointed here. Colorful lighting on the back: Yes, but only in a single color. It is, however, customizable.

Instead, the design focuses on a clean, almost minimalist look that’s better suited to desks with light or neutral decor than to classic RGB setups. The included accessories may seem unspectacular, but they leave nothing to be desired: a stand, DisplayPort cable, external power supply with cable, user manual, and the necessary mounting hardware are all included. The manufacturer has even included the screws needed for VESA mounting on a wall or monitor arm. This means everything you need is there to get started right after unboxing, without having to buy any additional cables.

In terms of build quality, the monitor makes a solid impression. While the choice of materials is in line with what you’d expect for the price, it by no means feels cheap. Weighing 5.7 kilograms for the panel alone, the LC-M27QO falls within the typical range for 26.5-inch OLED monitors. The only thing I don’t like is that the monitor is quite wobbly. The stand itself looks sturdy, but it has quite a bit of wobble to the left and right if you bump it. In comparison, an ASUS ROG Strix XG27UCGR (our review) in a similar price range feels significantly more premium. Other than that, however, there isn’t much to complain about.

The QD-OLED Panel in Detail

The heart of the LC-M27QO is its 26.5-inch QD-OLED panel, which packs WQHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels) into a diagonal size that’s quite compact for this panel class. This results in a pixel density of 111 ppi, which ensures a sharp image without any distracting pixel structure.

Anyone looking for uncompromising picture quality will sooner or later turn to QD-OLED technology, and the LC-M27QO’s specs speak for themselves at first glance: 10-bit color depth with 1.07 billion colors, color gamut coverage of 99% DCI-P3, 99% sRGB, and 98% Adobe RGB, as well as a contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1. Thanks to true black—a feature unique to self-emissive OLED panels—dark scenes in games and movies appear particularly vivid. The wide color gamut is also beneficial for image and video editing, even though a gaming monitor in this price range is rarely purchased primarily for color management tasks.

One figure, however, stands out when looking at the spec sheet: the maximum brightness is only 200 cd/m² (±30). For a QD-OLED panel, that’s a comparatively low value. Many current QD-OLED monitors from other manufacturers reach 250 to 300 cd/m² in SDR mode and significantly higher peak values in HDR mode. LC-Power does not list an official DisplayHDR True Black certification for the LC-M27QO, a certification that, for many competing models with comparable panels, indicates reliable HDR performance. But more on that later.

Gaming Features of the LC-Power LC-M27QO

When it comes to speed and gaming features, the LC-Power LC-M27QO clearly plays in the top league: A 240 Hz refresh rate paired with a response time of 0.03 milliseconds (gray-to-gray) makes this monitor ideal for fast-paced competitive games. This is supported by Adaptive Sync to prevent screen tearing, as well as the manufacturer’s proprietary Game Plus mode, which typically provides additional features such as crosshair overlays, timers, or FPS displays.

For longer sessions in front of the screen, Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free technology are included to reduce eye strain. Also handy for multitasking is the Picture-in-Picture or Picture-by-Picture mode, which allows two sources to be displayed simultaneously on the screen.

An important safety feature, especially for OLED skeptics: LC-Power offers a 3-year warranty that explicitly covers burn-in protection. Burn-in is generally a concern with OLED panels, but with this warranty policy, the manufacturer at least removes part of the barrier to purchase for potential buyers.

Ports, Ergonomics, and Connectivity

When it comes to connectivity, the LC-M27QO features a standard set of ports: 2x HDMI 2.1 and 2x DisplayPort 1.4, each with full support for WQHD resolution at 240 Hz. There’s also a 3.5-mm jack output for headphones or external speakers. The monitor doesn’t include built-in speakers, which is a minor drawback given that the gaming target audience typically uses headsets or desktop speakers anyway.

If you’re expecting a USB hub or a USB-C connection with Power Delivery—for example, to connect a laptop with a single cable and charge it at the same time—the LC-M27QO won’t meet those needs. Given the price point, this isn’t a deal-breaker, but it’s something to keep in mind when directly comparing it to other models.

What I do find very convenient, however, is that the ports on the back are routed straight into the monitor’s housing. This is much more practical than with many competitors, where you have to contort yourself just to plug the sometimes stiff cables into their ports. Well done, LC-Power! The included stand covers the basics solidly: 120 mm of height adjustment, tilt from -5° to +20°, a ±90° pivot function for portrait mode, and a ±22.5° swivel range. This is more than enough for most desk setups.

Image Quality of the LC-Power LC-M27QO

The key specs of the LC-M27QO —240 Hz, 0.03 ms, rich contrast, and wide color gamut coverage—look impressive on paper, and in dimly to normally lit rooms, the QD-OLED panel should deliver precisely the crisp blacks and rich colors for which this panel technology is known. Thanks to the low response time, fast movements in competitive shooters should be rendered without any visible motion blur. And indeed, the monitor performs exceptionally well in real-world testing.

In terms of picture quality, the LC-Power QD-OLED monitor holds its own against competitors from well-known manufacturers, such as the ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMES (review). Even though I don’t have official confirmation, I’m almost certain that both displays share the same panel—since the specs are nearly identical. (The difference is that the LC-Power LC-M27QO offers a wider range of connectivity options and, at least on paper, provides better color gamut coverage.)

In any case, I’m extremely impressed with the hands-on experience. The picture is pleasantly sharp and rich in detail, and there’s no motion blur even during fast-paced scenes in shooters or racing games. The color reproduction and contrast, in particular, are excellent—as is typical for OLEDs. The only downside is the low peak brightness of just 200 cd/m²—which is low even for OLEDs—and this is a real drawback: you really notice it, especially in brighter rooms.

There is also no higher peak brightness and, consequently, no HDR features whatsoever. In practice, this means that in dimly lit or normally lit rooms—which are typical for gaming anyway—the brightness is unlikely to be much of a problem. However, if you use the monitor in a very bright, sun-drenched room or directly by a window during the day, you might reach the panel’s limits on hot summer days or in strong backlighting.

The LC-Power LC-M27QO comes with a calibration report (strangely enough, three copies of the same version, but never mind), which already gives reason to hope that the display is very well calibrated out of the box. And indeed, the QD-OLED display truly impresses in our lab test using the SpyderX Elite.

We’re particularly impressed by the monitor’s color accuracy, with an average Delta E of 0.45, making it ideal for color-critical work. This is remarkable, as even monitors costing three times as much sometimes fail to achieve such precise color accuracy.

With a color gamut of 95% AdobeRGB and 98% DCI-P3, the LC-Power LC-M27QO doesn’t quite meet the manufacturer’s specifications, but it comes very close. If you also change the picture mode in the on-screen display and perform a slight recalibration, you can noticeably improve the color gamut even further.

The monitor also adheres very well to the gamma curve. By default, a value of 2.2 is preset, which can of course be adjusted. The deviations in the lab test are minimal, while the gamma curve is reproduced nearly perfectly.

As mentioned earlier, peak brightness is the LC-Power LC-M27QO’s biggest weakness. Here, we measured a peak of 196.6 nits across the entire screen, which is quite low even for a QD-OLED panel. In addition, we observed that the white point shifts slightly toward a warmer tone starting at just 25 percent brightness.

On the other hand, the display’s uniformity is excellent: The LC-M27QO shows only minimal deviations across the entire panel, both in terms of brightness (luminance) and color. The luminance uniformity is particularly noteworthy here, as values as high as 10 percent are common on other monitors. With the LC-Power, however, deviations are at most 1%, both at maximum and minimum brightness. The uniform color reproduction across the entire panel is also impressive. Truly excellent work.

LC-Power LC-M27QO Review: Conclusion

The LC-M27QO demonstrates that QD-OLED technology with a high refresh rate and fast response time is now available even outside of the well-known premium brands—and it doesn’t compromise on quality in the slightest. The panel and build quality deliver a level of performance that, just 1–2 years ago, was only available in significantly more expensive products. All of this is housed in a strikingly understated, elegant white chassis. Contrast, color gamut coverage, and speed are all at a level that impresses equally for competitive gaming and occasional photo editing. The 3-year warranty, which includes burn-in protection, also removes a common objection to buying an OLED from the equation.

The noticeable downside remains the comparatively low maximum brightness of 200 cd/m². The lack of a USB hub is also a shame, but personally, it’s only a minor issue for me. Overall, the LC-Power LC-M27QO has turned out to be a truly impressive QD-OLED monitor that holds its own even against major brands.
