LC-Power LC-M900B-C-W test: Gaming mouse with 19,000 DPI for around 40 euros

Manufacturer LC-Power wants to prove that a wireless gaming mouse with RGB lighting, a resolution of 19,000 DPI and a polling rate of 1,000 Hz doesn’t necessarily have to cost 100 Euros or more. After we first took a look at the manufacturer’s new mechanical keyboard these days, we now have the LC-Power LC-M900B-C-W review of the matching wireless mouse.

LC-Power LC-M900B-C-W review: design and workmanship

  • Symmetrical design suitable for both hands
  • Thoroughly pleasant surface
  • Workmanship on scroll wheel and primary buttons could be a bit better

The LC-Power LC-M900B-C-W wireless gaming mouse weighs 79 grams and measures 127 mm x 65 mm x 43 mm (length x width x depth). This puts the mouse in the midfield as far as current gaming mice are concerned.

Visually, the LC-Power mouse is quite attractive and comes with a plain black plastic case. On the underside of the mouse’s back, you’ll find the manufacturer’s logo in silver.

The upper third is taken up by the two primary keys, between which sits the black and gray scroll wheel. Below that is the pill-shaped DPI button, which can be used to adjust the resolution in a total of six levels.

In terms of ergonomics, the gaming mouse is suitable for both left- and right-handed users, although only the latter can really use the two additional buttons, which are found on the left side. They are well positioned and easily accessible. Moreover, like all keys, they offer a pleasant and precise pressure point.

Haptically, the LC-Power LC-M900B-C-W is quite pleasing due to its slightly roughened, anodized surface. There isn’t too much to complain about in terms of build quality either. With the exception of the scroll wheel, which has a bit of play on both sides, and the primary keys, which could have been a bit more robust.

It almost looks as if it is a four-way scroll wheel, which also triggers an action when pressed to the left or right. This is the case, for example, with the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro (our review). But that is unfortunately not the case.

On the bottom, you’ll find two more switches that frame the optical sensor: On the left is the mode switch, which allows you to turn the gaming mouse on and off, as well as use it in the middle setting without RGB lighting. On the right, on the other hand, you’ll find a Hz switch that allows you to adjust the sampling or polling rate in four steps between 125 Hz, 250 Hz, 500 Hz and 1000 Hz. This is something you rarely see in inexpensive gaming mice.

The manufacturer has hidden the USB-A receiver, because the LC-Power LC-M900B-C-W is supposed to work wirelessly. There is also no hint about the hiding place in the manual. After a bit of trial and error, it turns out that the lower third of the mouse’s back can be easily removed and lo and behold: there’s the USB dongle. Well, then we can start with the practical test.

Practical and sensor test of the LC-M900B-C-W

  • Excellent, accurate sensor
  • Up to 19,000 cpi
  • Good, but not very good gliding characteristics

In the LC-Power LC-M900B-C-W, the PixArt PAW3370 optical sensor does its job. Thus, it is not a high-end sensor from the manufacturer. However, it is also anything but a cheap model; after all, the same sensor is also used in considerably more expensive mice like the recently introduced Endgame Gear XM2we or the DeepCool MG510 that we tested in January 2022.

Accordingly, the performance offered in the mouse from LC-Power is also on a very high level. Here, too, the sensor calls up its full potential and comes up with a resolution of up to 19,000 cpi.

LC-Power LC-M900B-C-W
Strong for the price: the sensor delivers convincing results and offers precise tracking.

In combination with 50g mouse acceleration and 400 IPS tracking speed, the sensor realizes precise and impeccable mouse movements on most surfaces. Here, the inexpensive wireless gaming mouse truly does not have to hide behind significantly more expensive competitors.

However, the gliding feet are the only small drawback. Unfortunately, we could not find out whether they are also made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE for short) like the more expensive competition. However, these do not offer quite as strong gliding properties in the case of the LC-M900B-C-W. For most gamers, however, what is offered should be more than sufficient – in any case, I only felt the difference in direct comparison with a much more expensive mouse.

Once again, no software connectivity

  • No software customization possible
  • Precise scroll wheel
  • RGB lighting, but not customizable

However, there is once again a missing software to criticize, which means that all setting options are omitted. Here it is urgently time that LC-Power cobbles together its own software solution.

Because without software there are also no possibilities to create profiles, adjust speeds, change the key assignment or choose between different lighting effects. Yes, that’s not a big deal either, but it would have noticeably expanded the mouse’s range of functions and thus its qualities.

Otherwise, the mouse does an impeccable job and can be used equally well with the left or right hand. The mouse wheel’s pleasant grid allows precise scrolling and the given resolution as well as the optical sensor’s tracking hardly leave anything to be desired.

Thus, the LC-Power LC-M900B-C-W masters the basics very well. However, the mouse lacks any real unique selling points, but it also scores with an appealing price.

The RGB lighting is also concentrated on a single stripe on the back, which glows in waves in bright colors. This looks quite chic and, as already mentioned, can also be deactivated if desired – unfortunately, you cannot customize the illumination, though.

Battery life of the LC-Power LC-M900B-C-W

The LC-Power LC-M900B-C-W has a 400 mAh battery, whose runtime naturally varies greatly depending on whether you have RGB lighting enabled, what sensor resolution you’re using, and what polling rate is driving the mouse.

On average, the battery should be on par with similar mice, as the PixArt sensor is considered very energy-efficient anyway. In any case, 60 hours of gaming time should be possible without any problems. We also like the fact that the mouse automatically switches to sleep mode as soon as it is not used for 5 minutes. That saves battery.

LC-Power LC-M900B-C-W review: conclusion

The LC-Power LC-M900B-C-W review shows that there are plenty of strengths and only a few real weaknesses lying dormant in the gaming mouse. Thus, the wireless rodent basically offers just about everything that most gamers need.

The manufacturer concentrates on the essentials and installs a high-quality sensor that scores with precise tracking, very high resolution and a more than sufficient polling rate. In addition, there are five freely assignable buttons (plus two more), which should also be more than sufficient for the majority of gamers.

On the other hand, we have to deduct points for the build quality. Especially the somewhat wobbly scroll wheel and the not quite as robust primary keys could have used a bit more polish. But honestly? For my needs, the LC-Power LC-M900B-C-W offers everything I need and the battery life is also impressive.

Of course, there are much better equipped gaming mice that offer that little bit more and can be adjusted via software, for example. If you don’t need all that, you’ll be more than satisfied with the LC-Power LC-M900B-C-W.

Convincing wireless gaming mouse without frills, but with a precise sensor, very good tracking and long battery life at a more than fair price.
