Scope of delivery & assembly

Delivered the GXT 1150 Pacer in a simple brown cardboard box with black imprints. On the outside, as always, the most important product information and a picture of the product are shown. To protect the individual metallic elements, all parts were packed with foam film and thus all parts were delivered to us without scratches on the paint. The scope of delivery includes the parts of the racing adapter, which must be screwed together, assembly instructions for it and of course the appropriate screws and tools for a successful assembly.

The assembly instructions are clear and each step for assembly is clearly described – comparable to Lego instructions. In total, it took us 15 to 20 minutes to assemble, all parts are just placed or inserted into each other and finally fixed with screws. After the short assembly of the metal device, now only the steering wheel must be screwed to the bracket and the pedals fixed with screws on the rail so that the fun can begin! The assembly was therefore very simple and has convinced us.

Design & workmanship

In the next step, let’s take a closer look at the components. Let’s start with the mount for the seat. For this, a crossbar with two movable rails on which two metallic pins are located is available. Any gaming chair can then be attached to these pins by removing two casters of the chair and then inserting the base into the pins. Depending on the size, the pins can be moved outward and inward after unscrewing a screw on the side. You don’t need any extra tools to do this, as all the screws have handles – so all the parts can be adjusted easily and quickly, which really impressed us in terms of handling.

The middle bar, for holding the steering wheel, consists of a somewhat more complex construct. On the bottom, there again the total distance to the other parts can be adjusted, and on top finally the height of the steering wheel. The horizontal bar is supported by a slope on the underside – so there should be no lack of support. The plate for the steering wheel, which looks rather thin in the photos, is just as stable. When you hold it individually in your hand, you first notice how stable it actually is. All steering wheel models can be clamped onto this plate and sit slip-proof on the plate without leaving scratches on the paint. It is different with the screws to change the lengths and heights. These are simply screwed to the rods, which can cause scratches on the paint if you do not find the right position right away.

Another rail was installed for the pedals, which is again large enough to mount all current pedals on it. For the mounting of the pedals, additional screws were supplied, which can be screwed tightly to the pedals from below, so that the pedals do not slip from the bracket. Here you should note, however, to do this beforehand, otherwise it could be lying somewhat tight under the pedals. Depending on your own condition, the length and also the height of the pedals can be adjusted here. To do this again simply loosen the screws, adjust the height as desired and tighten again. Simple, handy and effective!

Finally, we have the feet – these are located in duplicate under each of the crossbars and can be adjusted in height by screws. If you have a somewhat uneven floor, you can use them to adjust the racing adapter to the floor. At the same time, the GXT 1150 Pacer is suitable for almost every floor, so you don’t have to worry about that. In conclusion, Trust can only be praised on the subject of quality and workmanship, because just about everything has been done exactly right here.

Practice

The overall quality made a good impression, now we just have to get the performance GXT 1150 Pacer Racing Seat Adapters right. In the first step, we have to decide on any suitable chair – for this, we took the Trust GXT 712 Resto Pro gaming chair that we have already tested to help us. On top of that comes a steering wheel, in this case the Logitech G923 TRUEFORCE. Once everything is mounted and adjusted, the fun can begin.

After the first few minutes in the session, the racing adapter makes a stable and good impression. The construction withstands the pressure of the pedals and the force feedback forces of the steering wheel without any problems. The seating position is comfortable and similar to that in a real car. However, some people might find the steering wheel bar between the knees annoying in the first few minutes. Depending on the position of the pedals, the knees or even thighs could sometimes scrape more or less on the bracket. After a few minutes of getting used to it, however, this no longer posed a problem for us.

Later in the session, after about 30 minutes, we made a small pit stop and took another look at the racing adapter. All screws between the most important elements were still screwed on tightly and didn’t need any readjustment – the quality once again shows its strengths here. Nevertheless, we still have one small point of criticism. Depending on how tall you are, you might have a bit of trouble getting into the racing adapter. People with longer legs have to twist themselves into the racing adapter when sitting down on the chair. This is still comparatively easy compared to standing up. Nevertheless, using the Racing adapter while driving on the race tracks is a lot of fun and makes you want to do more!

The session is over, now the GXT 1150 Pacer needs to be put aside – there are basically two ways to do this. The first would be to leave the design standing whole and move it to a suitable corner to the side. The disadvantage of this is that it can take up a lot of space. The second would be, you unscrew some screws and thus reduce the size. This is a little more space efficient and you need less free space.

Conclusion

The GXT 1150 Pacer Racing Seat Adapter from Trust is an all-around solid racing adapter that brings a lot of racing simulation into your own four walls for little money (€ 4.76*) – and not without reason. The workmanship of each individual element is on a very high level, the entire racing adapter is steadfast when driving and makes you want more. Especially racing beginners or people who are interested in racing will be very satisfied with the GXT 1150 Pacer. The implementation is solid and after a few minutes you quickly get used to the seat including the racing adapter and can chase the best times in your favorite racing game. Thus, the GXT 1150 Pacer Racing Seat Adapter from Trust has secured a more than deserved Gold Award!
