Apple fans and technology enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the next generation of iPhones. With the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air and iPhone SE4, major innovations are on the horizon. iPhone 17 Pro: These New Features Are Expected
The iPhone 16 Pro has just been released, but rumors about its successor are already swirling. The latest speculations about the iPhone 17 Pro suggest exciting new features.
It is expected that all models (including the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Plus) will feature a 24 MP front camera, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max may come with a 48 MP telephoto camera and 12 GB of RAM.
Increasing the RAM would significantly enhance Apple Intelligence and multitasking performance. Another highlight could be a smaller Dynamic Island. These rumors are based on statements from analysts like Ming-Chi Kuo and seem plausible within Apple’s strategy context.
iPhone rumors: iPhone 17 Air -Especially slim model planned?
The year 2025 is all about the iPhone 17 series at Apple. In addition to the familiar models such as the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Plus, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Max, we could also expect another variant that could possibly replace one of the four models:
The iPhone 17 Air.
Originally, the Air model was referred to as the “Slim” model, which already makes it clear what we can expect from the smartphone: a particularly slim device.
According to current rumors, the iPhone 17 Air will have a much thinner body than the manufacturer’s current models, which is also made of lightweight aluminum.
We are talking about a smaller 6.6-inch display with a smaller Dynamic Island. However, the screen should also enable a dynamic refresh rate thanks to ProMotion technology. In return, the resolution of the front camera should increase to 24 megapixels. However, there is only space for a single camera at the rear.
The iPhone 17 Air will also feature 8 GB of RAM and the new A19 chip, which is manufactured using the 3 nm process and should therefore be significantly more energy-efficient.
However, these innovations come at a price: as the website MacRumors reports, citing The Information, the thinner iPhone 17 will be more expensive than the Pro Max model, which currently starts at a price of 1,449 euros (or 1,199 US dollars).
As always, the rumors should of course be taken with a grain of salt.
iPhone 16 series: release in September 2024
September is traditionally characterized by the new iPhone generation. This will probably also be the case for the iPhone 16 series. There is currently no specific date, but as Apple usually releases the iPhone on a Friday, September 20 or 27 is considered likely.
Is an iPhone Ultra coming?
Another rumor includes a so-called iPhone Ultra, which is said to be even better than the Pro models in terms of performance and features. Similar to the Apple Watch Ultra. However, there is no concrete information on this and this rumor is actually considered rather unlikely.
iPhone SE 4: Affordable iPhone with the look of the 16 model?
Apple is also working on an iPhone SE 4, which could also be released as early as 2024. According to the Chinese leaker Fixed Focus Digital on Weibo, the successor to the SE from 2024 will have a very similar back to the iPhone 16.
It is therefore conceivable that the new SE 4 could also come with a dual camera. According to the leak, the main camera will have a resolution of 48 megapixels. It will also feature an OLED display with a frame rate of 60 Hz, support Face ID and offer a screen diagonal of 6.06 inches. The Apple A18 chip is also said to be working under the hood, with 6 to 8 GB of RAM.
iPhone 16 launch event was a bit of a disappointment since other than the new A18 6-core chipset + 48MP camera + wifi 7 and 4k @ 120fps recording (Samsung already had it on S24 Ultra) we did not get anything else… And the whole AI is not even live…And that camera button that is very uncomfortable for portrait shots. One major camera improvement – low light photo performance!
Unless you are upgrading from iPhone 11 or earlier models, it does not make sense to go for 16 pro models this time. Wait for another year.
