WhatsApp voice message not audible? This is how you solve the problem!
Your WhatsApp voice message is not audible? This can have many causes. We show you how to solve the problem and listen to voice messages again as usual!
No sound in WhatsApp voice messages: Press louder button
Often, no sound is heard in WhatsApp voice messages because the phone was accidentally muted. You can change this by pressing the volume up button, which is located on the side of the case of all popular smartphones.
It is also possible to specifically deactivate media playback on some devices. In this case, the phone is not muted, but media is played without sound. You can check this on Android devices by first pressing the volume keys and then the menu button under the displayed speaker icon.
Proximity sensor activated by mistake
Another common reason for voice message playback issues on WhatsApp is accidental activation of the proximity sensor. This sensor is supposed to detect whether the phone is held to the ear. If it is to the ear, the voice message is played very quietly. In practice, however, this function is prone to errors. It is also activated by certain cell phone covers, for example. If the problem occurs with all voicemails and the phone is not muted, it is therefore advisable to remove the phone cover. If the WhatsApp voice message is then played loudly, the problem was due to a misactivation of the sensor.
Speaker defective
If that doesn’t help either, your phone’s speaker might be defective. To check this, you should try playing other audio content. If everything is audible, the problem with the voice message is not due to your device.
Alternatively, you can connect headphones to your phone and play the voicemail again. If the WhatsApp voice message is still not audible, your speaker is not the cause of the problem. However, you may notice that your headphones were already connected to your phone and the voice message was played there.
Voice message was sent without sound
If other content and also other WhatsApp voice messages are played with sound, it is reasonable to assume that the problem lies in the voice message itself. It may have been sent without sound – for example, because a phone case or a finger blocked the microphone. To check this, you can take a close look at the message. If there are no or only very faint audio waves in the display, the problem described is present. In this case, you should contact the person who sent the message and inform them that the WhatsApp voice message has no sound.
Conclusion: WhatsApp voice message not audible
If a WhatsApp voice message is not audible, this can have a wide variety of causes. Not in every case, you can solve it yourself. First, test whether your phone is muted, before you examine the speakers or test the cell phone case off. If there are no audio spikes in the voicemail display, the problem is not with you, but with the other person. In any case, it can be easily solved.
