Acer Swift Go: Lightweight and extra slim notebooks now available
At the beginning of January, Acer officially unveiled the Acer Swift Go series, a series of particularly compact and lightweight notebooks with OLED displays, and announced availability for April 2023. Now it’s April and indeed the notebooks are available now.
The Acer Swift Go series in detail
Whereas: to be more precise, only the 14-inch Acer Swift Go 14 (SFG14-71) is available now, while the Acer Swift Go 16 (SFG16-71) will probably have to wait until June. Both models rely on an OLED panel, which in the case of the 14-incher has a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels and offers a refresh rate of 90 hertz. The 16-inch model comes with a resolution of 3,200 x 2,000 pixels and a fast 120 Hz.
Both panels achieve 400-nits peak brightness, 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut and are VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified. In addition, there is a TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe display certification.
The 14-inch Go has 4.15 mm wide display edges and weighs less than 1.3 kg. The 16 incher has a 4.2 mm slim side frame and weighs 1.6 kg.
Current 13th generation Intel Core processors from the H-series are under the hood, while the Acer Swift Go notebooks are verified as Intel Evo platform notebooks depending on the model. In addition, there is up to 16 GB of fast LPDDR5 working memory and up to two TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage.
Add to that a battery life of up to 9.5 hours for the notebooks. With Intel Movidius VPU, the devices feature a special AI engine that makes video conferencing collaboration both high-quality and energy-efficient at the same time. The notebooks also feature Intel Unison, which allows users to easily connect their computers to Android or iOS devices for a universal, user-friendly experience.
Also offered are modern ports. Among them are two USB Type-C with Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1 and a microSD card reader. The Swift Go notebooks also feature the latest PurifiedView video conferencing features like background blur, automatic framing and eye contact.
The 1440p temporal noise reduction (TNR) webcam is said to achieve compelling image quality even in challenging lighting conditions while Acer’s PurifiedVoice technology with AI noise reduction ensures clear intelligibility.
