Apple: iOS can bypass Log4j security leak

For weeks now, the Log4j security leak has dominated the news around the topic of data protection. The crazy thing is that pretty much every system is affected. Apple is one of them. Now, however, the company has reacted and dampened the vulnerability of the notorious Java logging library. A hotfix is supposed to unceremoniously bypass the sensitive data leak and thus ensure the protection of personal user data.

Log4j when uploading apps

Conventional users of an iPhone will not really suffer from the data leak. So Log4j opens its gates in Apple’s “Xcode” only when you want to upload an app. This has now been adjusted by the developers. A quickly initiated hotfix makes it possible. This ensures that the Java logging library is updated and Log4j no longer poses a threat.

While you can now breathe easy when uploading apps, the question is how it looks with other applications such as the “iTunes Producer”. This app allows you to upload songs. Fortunately, Apple has made it clear that the Java logging library is not used here. So you don’t have to worry if you upload songs in the app.
