Some April Fools’ jokes are so… strange… that they are true after all. One such example is the ASUS ROG Mjolnir, which the manufacturer unveiled on April 1st. The hammer-shaped outdoor charging station is modeled on the hammer of Thor, the god of thunder, and was quickly dismissed as an April Fool’s joke due to its shape. The manufacturer has now confirmed via Twitter / X that the hammer is real and will be finally unveiled at Computex 2024 in June.
ASUS ROG Mjolnir: Mobile outdoor charging station coming
ASUS is entering the mobile power station segment and wants to compete with manufacturers such as Bluetti, Jackery and Anker with a unique design. The ASUS ROG Mjolnir from the gaming division comes in the design of Thor’s hammer and is set to be unveiled at Computex 2024 between June 4 and 7, 2024.
The manufacturer has not yet provided any specific details, but the first published image allows some conclusions to be drawn. For example, the display on the front shows an output power of 768 watts. However, no information on battery performance and maximum power is yet available. However, it is possible to see how long it will take until the battery is fully charged.
The first image also allows conclusions to be drawn about the port selection. The Mjollnir uses four AC sockets, which are combined with two USB-C and two USB-A ports. This therefore indicates that the power station can also be used outdoors.

However, it does not appear to be waterproof due to the lack of covers. Ventilation slots on the sides, including a matching ROG logo, should ensure effective cooling. The purpose of the ASUS ROG Mjolnir’s handle is still completely unclear.
In the article, ASUS addresses the Powerstation primarily to gamers, but it remains to be seen what this means. We will find out in around two months’ time when the ASUS ROG Mjolnir is presented to the public at Computex 2024.
