Cambridge Audio Melomania M100: in-ears with powerful features and aptX Lossless presented

Manufacturer Cambridge Audio is known for its high-quality headphones, among other things. The Melomania 1 (our test) and Melomania Touch (our test) scored with strong hi-fi sound, but lacked active noise cancellation. Now Cambridge Audio is introducing the new Melomania M100, which have ANC and also score points with other strong features.

The Cambridge Audio Melomania M100 in detail

With the new Cambridge Audio Melomania M100, the manufacturer has listened to user feedback on previous models in the range and is introducing the features that fans have been asking for. These include, for example, modern Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity with higher speed or support for Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair.

There is also a gaming mode that reduces latency to under 80 milliseconds and support for LE Audio, AuraCast Broadcast Audio and the high-resolution LC3 audio codec. In addition, aptX Lossless and aptX Adaptive are also included, which enable high-resolution sound with up to 24 bit and 96 kHZ.

Keyword sound: The Melomania M100’s sound comes from 10 mm neodymium drivers and is enhanced by a class A/B amplifier. An adjustable 7-band equalizer in the Melomania Connect app also allows you to adjust the sound to your own preferences.

Cambridge Audio Melomania M100: Compact and comfortable

The Melomania M100 weigh around 6.65 grams per earbud, and the entire set weighs just 66.6 grams when combined with the charging case. Visually, the in-ears are designed without style and are also quite small at 22 mm x 19.2 mm x 23 mm.

Thanks to IPX4 certification, the earbuds are also protected against splashing water and sweat and come with a total of three pairs of silicone ear inserts and two pairs of memory foam ear tips. A total of six microphones with Qualcomm cVc noise suppression should ensure impressive voice quality.

Active noise suppression with an adaptive hybrid mode and three additional modes is also offered, with a counterpart in the form of a transparency mode.

The features are rounded off by an impressive battery life: the manufacturer promises a full 16 hours of battery life without ANC, with active noise suppression it is still a very good 10 hours. In combination with the charging case, the runtime is extended to 52 hours. Thanks to Fast Charge, 10 minutes of charging is enough for up to 4 hours of music playback. Charging can even be done wirelessly using the Qi standard if desired.

Price and availability

The Cambridge Audio Melomania M100 are now available in stores at a recommended retail price of 199.00 euros. Further details can be found on the manufacturer’s product website.
