The electronics manufacturer Anker has launched a product recall. The Anker 535 Power Bank is affected. The company states that individual customers have experienced high heat development. Customers who return their power bank will receive a full refund.

Anker 535 Power Bank causes problems for market leader

Anker is considered one of the successful companies in the field of electronics in recent years. Yet the Chinese manufacturer founded itself in 2011 solely to offer its products for sale on Amazon. In addition to compact Bluetooth speakers, which impressed with their price-performance ratio, the company also launched practical mobile energy storage devices. It is therefore not surprising that Anker is now considered the market leader in the field of compact power banks. A well-known representative is the Anker 535 Power Bank. However, this seems to cause dangerous problems for some customers. Thus, Anker has to accept another low blow after the problems with the security cameras from the subsidiary brand eufy.

Due to a defect in the manufacturing process, individual batches are said to develop extreme heat. According to Anker, these pose a fire hazard. Therefore, they have decided to allow owners of the powerbank to return it for a full refund. Should you be interested in making the return, you can follow the instructions on Anker’s corresponding website. To see if you own the affected powerbank from Anker, you should take a closer look at your energy storage device. For example, it should say “535 Power Bank (PowerCore 20K)” on the bottom. The model number A1366 can also be a clue.

Anker advises against further use

If you own one of the affected devices, Anker recommends that you stop using the memory. Instead, the company advises disposal. However, before you hastily toss the powerbank into your trash garbage can, you should follow standard recycling guidelines. This means that you should take the storage device to a disposal point for electronic waste. You can then simply secure the purchase price via the corresponding form from Anker.
