Google Pixel 7 Pro shows off in first render image

A few months after the release of Google’s current flagship smartphone Pixel 6 Pro (our review), the successor Google Pixel 7 Pro is revealed in first renders. Responsible for the leak is once again Steve Hemmerstoffer, also known as @OnLeaks, who has often been right with his publications in the past.

Google Pixel 7 Pro: Design hardly offers any innovations

What initially catches the eye in the Google Pixel 7 Pro render images is that the smartphone’s design has changed almost nothing compared to its predecessor released in 2021. Accordingly, Google still relies on a protruding camera hump that extends across the entire width of the smartphone in the upper third.

What is noticeable, however, are the larger lenses of the triple-cam setup on the back in direct comparison. According to rumors, the Pixel 7 Pro will use a wide-angle Samsung ISOCELL sensor of the latest generation with 64 megapixels as the main camera. The predecessor still had 50 megapixels.

In addition, there is an ultra-wide-angle sensor with 50 megapixels, as well as a periscope camera with 12 megapixels. However, these details should be taken with a grain of salt at the moment. A new version of the Google Tensor SoC is considered to be almost certain, which should replace the first-generation device from last year.

More specifications

OnLeaks and the website Smartprix have also revealed specifications of the Google Pixel 7 Pro, which are said to be based on final CAD drawings from supplier circles.

According to them, the smartphone puts curved OLED panel with 6.7-inch or 6.8-inch size. The front camera is positioned in a punch hole. The dimensions are 163.0 × 76.6 × 8.7 mm (length x width x height), while the 7 Pro is said to be 11.2 mm tall due to the camera hump.

The weight is said to be between 208 grams and 212 grams. Google is also supposed to offer a choice of 256 GB or 512 GB flash storage with 12 GB or 16 GB working memory. The Google Pixel 7 Pro will probably be released in fall of this year.
