HomeNet rate with speed of 1 Gbit/s becomes symmetrical

Globalconnect’s HomeNet brand makes its 1 GBit/s fast Internet rate symmetrical. Globalconnect uses Deutsche Bahn’s fiber optics and thus now doubles the upload rate. And it does so for 39.99 euros a month.

HomeNet 1.000 is improved

New fiber provider Globalconnect is now improving its HomeNet 1.000 tariff and making access symmetrical, as the Danish company revealed in a statement on December 21, 2021.

This includes 1,000 Mbit/s in download and upload starting at a monthly price of 39.99 euros, which will be realized via Deutsche Bahn’s fiber-optic network. Existing customers will not have their contract term extended. From December 21, 2021, all HomeNet customers will switch to the rate – without having to do anything.

The contract term is generally 24 months. The provider guarantees a data rate of 750 Mbit/s as a minimum. HomeNet is currently available to residents of Hamburg and Kiel.

Double upload

“With our HomeNet Internet Unlimited Internet rate, we are replacing our previous HomeNet 1,000 rate these days as a Christmas present to our customers. Thus we show private customers that fiber optic Internet does not have to be expensive and that future viability at HomeNet also means more bandwidth without additional costs,” said Christian Breidenbach-Kaack, Country Manager Germany of GlobalConnect GmbH.

Doubling the upload speed brings benefits in many areas, for example, video calls, gaming or uploads to the cloud.

GlobalConnect brings experience from large fiber optic expansions in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Germany and already has over 300,000 business and residential customers. The company relies on a fiber optic network with a length of around 74,500 kilometers.
